Bought one 4 days ago. Absolutely love it. Pity most videos have a heavy distortion emphasis as I’m finding it much much more versatile than that.

Definitely. I have a D-Roc and I play it in a singer/Songwriter type band, super mellow stuff. Fits just fine.

True story, I’ve had the d roc for a year and it’s not a sole drive bass, I like the parallel back pickups with the tone rolled slightly off.

Gonna be a while till I can afford a Dingwall bass but they definitely look like they're worth it

Love my D-Roc, love my NG3 6, going to love my Z or AB1 (in about a year).

I love the gold d rocks but I'm happy with my combustion. If I get another Dingwall I'm going all out and getting a Z.
    Lovely bass and tone tho.

How is the weight and balance compared to a Combustion / NG body? Looking for a 5 string and the closest Dingwall dealer (quite a haul from here) doesn't have any options in the D-Roc. Coming from a P-bass with serious neck dive, I'd like something lighter that I don't have to constantly keep one hand on (while wearing a strap).

Sheldon Dingwall is a genius. Someday I will have my own D-Roc 4 strings. Cheers!

Have a combustion and run it in passive mode. Dingwalls come stock with the pickups WAY too high, slam them a bit and you get nice round notes even when you dig in. Tone will always have a smidge of the brr brr ding to it solo, but it blends in with a mix surprisingly well.
Play mine in a hard rock band with just a bit of blended grit. Like a B-15 kinda grit... you can hear it when bass is isolated, but it sounds clean in the mix. My band's stage sound has never been better. VERY versatile bass.

What P/UP setting are you using?

These are so great. A lot more versatility than the silhouette and pedigree suggest

The 3 leaf octabvre is in there. And who knows what dirt he's using in this. His board evolves all the time

Is the riff from 1:21-1:58 from an actual song? It got a nice stank face from me.

My D-Roc Standard color shift is the best thing I ever bought. I absolutely love it. It’s literally hard to put down.
