OMG - TWENTY YEARS! It's been just over twenty years. Geeeeez!
I'll never forget hearing this the first time. A DJ at WFMU had just gotten it and played it. I can remember what town I was in, the weather that day...can almost remember which car it was in!
I was damned lucky to catch it on the edge of reception. Hard to hear new music in the middle of nowhere with no internet, no music stores, not even cable that summer.
A friend kept lamenting there was "no good music anymore" even tho he lived in the city, *surrounded* by music. Next time he started saying that on the phone, I said "dude - go get Sleater Kinney." He did, and sent me a mix tape.
2000 was a long, wet, stupid summer but I had All Hands on the Bad One and Dig Me Out and I played them over and over at my crappy summer job in the mountains!! TWENTY YEARS AGO!
Perfect example of what a rock band should be.
ppl always say the strokes were the default band that "saved rock and roll" but in reality, sleater-kinney were killing it in the alt rock scene way before. wish they'd got more credit

I learned about this group through Carrie Brownsteings' book: Hunger Makes Me A Modern Girl, which should be a required reading for all young girls in junior high school, Love this video.
For everyone in general, I will not forgive her for the dog but other than that it is a great memoir
@@OceanSpaceman The dog killed one of her cats. Even then it's not like she beat it or dumped it at a shelter. She gave it to a friend who could take care of it.

Corin's vocals here are really subdued compared to her earlier songs. She sounds sorta different honestly. Like that.
These girls keep 90’s Alt girl rock alive. While I prefer bands like Bikini Kill, Veruca Salt & Letters to Cleo bands with more sonic punch it’s nice to see great girl rock surviving.
