because gta 3 came out first on ps2 and dma wasnt renamet rockstar north it renamed rockstar north on 2002 when gta 3 came out on pc and when gta vc came out

The PS2 and xbox version were the first ones. It explains why in the 1.0 ps2 version you can see the beta police cars in the intro.
