Whenever I listen to other broadcasts, I appreciate the Warriors' broadcasters a lot more. Fitz and Barnett are biased, of course. All broadcasters are biased to their own team. But Fitz and JB, unlike others, do get excited when there is some good basketball being played by the other team. They'll call out a player they really like, or a razzle-dazzle move that an opposing player does. They appreciate good ball, on both sides.
But the Warriors pulled off an amazing comeback here in Boston and the commentators are (understandably) pretty dull about it. Not surprising that the Warriors' own Fitz and JB have won an Emmy for "best sports broadcast." They know how to do it.
I can't believe the Celtics were up 26 against the champs. This Celtics team will be great soon

People used to say the same thing about the San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks back in the days (1980s, 1990s and 2000s )< They finally got their's. Late '90s for the Spurs and 2011 for the Mavs. Rockets in the mid '90s. Toronto might not win one anytime soon, but 5-10 years from now or so. Who knows. Heck, Miami Heat finally won it all in 2006. That was pretty much unthinkable back in the '90s and early 00s. Who knows with the Cleveland Cavaliers this year or so with Lebron.

We know they're boston commentators. The job of a commentator is not to be a homer the whole game, it's to help keep the game interesting to the viewer. The best commentators in the world are excited for both sides, with some bias towards their own team, not falling asleep when the opponent scores and screaming when their team does something.

Andrew Lewis sometimes they are boring when other teams score, but there are other times when they are mesmerized by the other team. Like ever since last season began, Fred McLeod actually erupts when the other team blocks the cavs.

great assembly of clips, getting to see the plays develop. Re: the announcers--Heinsohn is a Hall Monitor, his job is to be Tommy Heinsohn and say the obvious thing. But the Warriors announcers...??? I was visiting Seattle and watched the Ws play the Sonics, and in the 3rd quarter I very suddenly realized that I wasn't being drained of blood because I wasn't having to listen to Barnett and Fitzpatrick. Year after year those two would repeat the same thing in the same way...Mr. Gawlee Gee and Mr. When I Was in the NBA. 50 times a season Barnett would tell the right way to turn a 3on1 into a 2on1...and be called a genius!!!!!!

It's weird watching this now because they play so much quicker and more fluidly with pretty much the same guys in. (Barnes is gone now, but even when KD is sitting they're a lot more in sync than this. Kinda scary.)
The Warriors can mostly make comebacks in most games like once in okc they were down 22-9 at the end of the game 114-109 and Golden State won that game

To everyone complaining about how boring and one sided the commentators are. Please understand that this game was on Comcast Sportsnet which is strictly a New England channel. The commentator is Tommy Heinsohn who played his entire career with the Celtics. Obviously they are going to be bias and root for the Celtics
The only commentators that would, possibly, root for both teams and not have a favorite would be the TNT and ESPN broadcasters.
Awesome Person from outer space or somewhere far Some announcers just kiss ass to players. Like LeBron for example. Every shot he makes the announcers praise him. I am not kidding. LeBron is a fantastic player but come on. And whenever someone on the other team dones something five times better than that they say. "Wow, that was good, okay moving on. Oh my goodness, LeBron just hit a freethrow! Did we get that on camera!"

Well, Comcast Sportsnet isn't specifically a New England channel (us Warriors fans listen to Fitz and JB on CSN Bay Area), but this version of it is specifically the New England version. So yes, these commentators are the Boston Celtics home-town commentary team. Of course they're gonna be biased.
