We always race 6 cars and we play the ai with +2 to their speed number and we make fun of eachother when we lose to them. I play through the campaign solo all the time and love how good the ai is at pushing me to be better. One thing i think people miss is that they can discard any non-heat or stress they want to cycle their deck faster
At BGG people seem to overthink the rules or they play the game withoit understanding the rules 100% which have generated a lot of questions and almost 100% of the answers can be found in the rules if only people would look. So new players shouldn’t be afraid of trying this game! It’s easy to play. This is a killer game, even the art work is stunning - simpliest the game of the year! ❤
You are correct. I know that Brad and I have fallen into the "we have to table these games soon" routine at times so that we can review games for the channel or get new games from hauls to our gaming group. This comes at the expense of being thorough with the rule book, sometimes. Sometimes, Brad and I will argue over rule books, too. Heat was one of them. HAHA. He found it not well laid out and confusing with some items, but I found it clear and walked me through game play. Funny how two people can find them so different. Even with my slight struggle with dyslexia, I found Heat's book to be on the better end. Regardless, the game is great! I agree--this should find it's way as a family game. Even newer players to the hobby should be able to pick it up. I'm considering adding it to my collection and Brad, as well as another in our gaming group, owns it.
This game is great fun. Glad Days of Wonder has a good hit again. Love how your presentation has improved. The music video at the beginning is a great piece. Keep up the good work!
Hey guys, I just watched this review and I'm not sure about what you said about the manual. I have played a short session of this game at a local con. This first time wasn't a great experience with just two players and no Legends cards. But seeing all the raves online and some playthroughs I think I will like this game. So I went reading the manual today (after watching your video) and I think no manual is written in a way to half read or skip sections in learning the game. I just read all the rules and everything is greatly laid out and described. Even how to increase (or you can also decrease) the speeding values of the Legends Module. So your described con is not that valid one in my opinion. Besides this small quibble I like what you guys are doing and have fun making these videos.
I just thought the way they worded the cards that go between the corners and not having the legends labeled solo could have been better. Adding some picture would have helped. I am glad you enjoyed the video though and thought enough to comment that is greatly appreciated. I would recommend always playing with the legend cards so you always have 6 cars on the track. It allows for slip streaming and things like that but they are tough to beat sometimes hehe. I hope the game grows on you 🙂
Great review. As usual you guys are killing my wallet. Now I want to get it but here in Canada it is in the 75CAD range, so I might have to wait a bit. I think the way each one adds to the reviews are very straightforward but very helpful. I would love to see a multiplayer playthrough that you could go through the points where the rules are not very clear. Please keep adding the solo section. Great job!

I give it a 10 because it's one of the (very) few games my wife (who is not so much into board gaming) also likes to play as it is not too complex and not too long. I was very lucky when I bought this game about a month ago as the 4 copies they had in store were sold out in a few days and until now they still have none in stock. I paid 60 € (65 $) for it.

I read the rules this is the second book for advanced rules. Did not read that and then went looking for the solo rules and nothing is labeled solo. Labeled legends and within that it says can be used for solo.
@@BadatBoardgames I think you guys would get a kick out of it, but it's a pretty simple gameplay, it's more narrative but it sure does have more gameplay and an actual board than Sherlock Holmes :P

Yes it is a great solo game. We do not help the ai cars go faster lol. Yes that was an easy rule to miss when I started playing as well!
