I didn't find your presentation too easy to follow (quite a bit of digressing away from the steps) but actually, you taught me how to do what I needed, after being frustrated by several other tutorials, so big thanks!
I very rarely comment on YT videos, but you sir are a godsend. Every other fucktwat YT uploader with a so-called tutorial video, is actually showing you a "speed drawing" with no audio. This was basic, simple, well presented and actually a fucking TUTORIAL! If I could give you 2 thumbs up I would. #Subscribed
You're amazing! Thank you so much. Its so hard to learn all the facets of illustrator and graphic design without having gone to school or having a really great friend teach you. I have neither lol You are definitely helping me out
Really helpful and useful. Watched several videos on this topic before finding this, the first that actually solved the problem and made sense. Thanks for sharing.
Finally an explanation that tells me to not use the clip option... before now every single option I tried just showed the image through the tiny texture dots instead!
Thank you! I couldn't figure out that the reason my mask wasn't working was because I wasn't putting the background in a separate layer. Great tutorial!
Great video! Working with the textures is extremely choppy for me in Illustrator though. Getting massive lag when trying to copy them, move them, resize them, etc. Is there any workaround for this? I'm not sure why it's happening, my PC is built for handling intensive graphics.
Awesome :) I've searched another places and seems everyone use pathfinder. It takes an eternity to finish and the results aren't so good. Again, thanks bro. You saved me. Peace Y
Thx for the tutorial. Just a random question. Are you gonna be doing little more advanced tuts in the future? I and maybe many others can deal with simple stuff, but there are situations where I am kind of stuck. I bet others would be interested in watching too. Just a question, really! :) Keep on rocking!
Agree, but it's not a tutorial on text design. It's applying textures to text. We would have to sit through a few minutes of kerning, which is pretty simple stuff
Thank you, very simple and easy tutorial. Ive been using adobe illustrator for a year now and still hadnt learnt this thank you! Is it necessary to do the outlines thing at the beggining or optional?
Cool tutorial! I was wondering if you know a way to distress text, like you've done, except have the distress concentrated through the middle of the letters, and as you get to the edge of the letters, having it become less distressed, or more solid? Thought it would be easy, but can't seem to nail the look.
Hey, thanks for the tutorial, it was very helpful. However, I am trying to download a transparent of just the text, with the vector textures already applied, the problem is that it keeps showing the whole square of the Vector textures when I download the transparent of the text. I don't know how to make those squares go away so that it only shows it on the text.

Maybe a vid on how to make the texture disappear to let the background show through in a way to combine using mask and pathfinder divide?
