I'm probably silly, but isn't it better to get a feel for what 4-cost is open and just get it 3-star and win around it?

i think it’s just the likelihood of if you end up hitting or not. just because the pool is thinned out doesn’t mean you can get a 3 star 4 cost. so you’d probably still end up bot 4 because you’re not always going to be playing a strong comp

@@samihansennn possibly, but if it's worth picking up 4s to thin the pool, getting the empty lane should get you somewhere, no?
Dunno how to play the game and never have, but i wonder if it is worth picking the unit specific augment 1st round if possible and build around it, otherwise try to get any 1cost 3 star and take either lane off it or otherwise try to find a lane in 5 exalted and build from there.. last resort go 5cost armada?

it ultimately depends on the lobby. there’s just too much variance in tft where you can make this strat work 100% of the time, especially with encounters being this set’s gimmick.

@@codynguyen1396 True, though ultimately it's a gambling game. So it's about either spreading or going all in on the things the game provides and reading your opponents. Also understanding what is hardcoded is important in this game... Does it reward high stakes gambles or does it feed the gambling itself... (Does it put cards in the odd pool or just rarities and then randomise the cards within the pool? Does it have a pitty system, where you will see sertain rarities after x rolls if you haven't seen one yet? Does it take into account your board and scewer the odds in that regard?)
