I love the “all in one”, the TR paper and the layout (weekly). I will use it again in 2023. Sterling Ink-has a 2023 “Hobonichi inspired “ planner you may want to check out; can pre-order thru Sep 15th.
I kept trying the Cousin but the weekly part of it was something I could not get used to. One because of the small space horizontal and then the other because it was timed. Like you felt I just had a hard time ignoring that part. Thank you for sharing.
I ignore the time in my nolty vertical schedule. And although the old me would be so against that I somehow made it work. Agree with Christie plans here.
I got my first hobonichi in march, right before quarantine... I was using it a lot for work but I had to stop work, and I’m still not back, so now I just stare at it thinking how to fill it! I thought of memory keeping too, but with the pandemic I don’t really go out either (only grocery shopping)
Maybe you can make it into a goal planner for different things, exercise, learn a new language, learn a new skill for work maybe? I love my goal planner and it helps me to understand exactly what I am supposed to do each day to achieve my goals.
I use flags in my JB Techno to plan out my days. I write on them with permanent ink, and reuse them daily to plan out of my day. I fill in what I did after the fact for the day, for tracking purposes of what I have been doing on my thesis project
Sterling Ink I should note that they are the colorful see through flags that I cut down to fit the hour blocks in my JB Techo besides the one they sell specifically for their planner. I just reuse the hell out of them. But only 3 colors in their color way so I supplemented. If you want send me a PM and I’ll show you a picture of my planning
I find the way the Cousin is laid out is hard for me to get used to as well. I’m not a fan of flipping back and forth between sections. But I love the paper and having so much in one book.
Same I totally agree. This was the reason why I wasn't able to use all the sections fully before. But once I placed the post it (the stiff type) on these specific locations, it really helped me to get over that. haha.
I plan to use one next year at work. I only need Monday through Friday and about 8am to 3, so I will use washi to cover up Saturday and Sunday. That will become my weekly to do list. For the daily to do in the weekly spread, I will block off the time after 3pm and have that as a daily to do list. I found that I need a weekly and hourly, but my planner only has monthly and weekly, so I've had to make hourly pages....not convenient at all. I'd rather block off what I don't need then to need it and not have it.
These hobonichi journals are extremely expensive - I want to start using it because so many people rave about it... but it will cost me almost $100 to buy one here in Australia... OUCH!!! - I would be extremely upset with myself if I had that many blank unused pages like what you have....
your thoughts on the Hobo were interesting. I like the timed part on the weeklies so I can put in meetings and appointments in, but if where you work you don't have meetings etc I can understand why you would find that page set up a bit disconcerting,
I don't like mixing work with my personal businesses in one planner. Especially when I was still working in the office, I didn't like having my planners open showing my side business information in an open office environment. So I was using a traveler's notebook (which work out better for my line of work) for work and that planner would strictly stay at work. Now I am actually working on my side businesses full time so I don't mind mixing business and personal information together.
Hi. I watched Bunny's video and came over to yours after. You so did a great job. My sentiments exactly as I also have a bitter sweet love status with hobonichi cousin. Also is that a moterm cover?
It’s a challenge but make it work for you not the other way around. I don’t feel bad for the empty pages at all because sometimes I am so busy I am not able to use my planners. Have fun with it and I hope you like it! It’s a gorgeous planner 🤗
Yes, daily specific timelines scare me. I feel like I am obliged to accomplish a task in a specific time otherwise I am a failure and that makes me unproductive even more. But I like the layout.
Totally agree. I have been changing it up based on what my day looks like. If it's more about getting the most done within a day then I use the weekly for scheduling tasks, and if it's more about getting one huge task completed I use it as a place to break down the task. I also disliked scheduling out my tasks because I felt like a failure when I don't complete things on time. But now I just changed my thinking and I use it to see how much time it actually takes me to complete a task so I can be more reasonable with myself because I tend to jam too many things in one day. I sometimes feel like we have to be that perfect parent for our inner child, it's a balance of discipline and encouragement lol.
It's from Nanami paper co. And yes! it does have Tomoe River paper and I highly recommend it! It's my favorite brand for Tomoe River paper blank notebooks.
I think that is the issue with multiple planners- it starts getting redundant. I love how you are using the cousin xoxo
Yes! More Cousin videos please! I'm loving your spreads
Thank you Lindsey! I thought I had replied to this comment!! I am in love with your planners and you know that lol.
Amazing how sometimes is the very minute things that can trip us up or make us successful.

BlushnBlue I struggled ignoring the time for a while but now have no issue. Keep trying and it may work.

@@SterlingInk that makes sense - i use the Hobo Cousin (A5) for work, my personal planner every day carry is in a personal filofax.
Did you use the 12 Week Year method for your Goal Planner?
That memory Hobo Cousin is going to be such a priceless keepsake for you and your family!!! 🥰
Thank you so much. I hope I can keep up with it. So far I have been really looking forward to working in it.
Both of you makes me want to try this! If I could only find an excuse ... 😬 great video!
Haha thank you, I am sure you will be able to find an excuse for it. I clearly love it so much!
A warning: if you try it you will most likely want to have it every year forever. 😉😄
@@scatteredseedsofhappiness3285 Agreed completely.

Thank you so much! The black one is a black croco matte appunto from Gillio Firenze. The memory keeping natural leather is from Gfeller case makers.
@@SterlingInk both are beautiful.
2021 is my first year trying out the HB Cousin, I can see it may be a challenge for me but I'm looking forward to it 🤎

Very good video ,classic and helpful 👍
Will you give it to your son when he’s older so he can see all his photos?
Haha only if he wants it later. But we look through the book together all the time and he loves it right now.
Love your shirt! 😍
Thank you so much, it's one of my favorite!
Helpful!
Thank you so much!
I love this black cover, where did you get it?
Hi I got it from gillio Firenze
What is the Notebook in 5min? Does it have TR-paper?
