On my cross country + bicycle tour in 2004, I was on the north shore of the Hood and did the same thing with oysters, good times. Now I'm converting a step van into a full time boondocking home. Might see you out there next year. I really enjoy your videos, thanks Brian for bringing back some memories.
I think this is the best video you've ever created! This is reminisant of my teenage years in and around Hood Canel, and Mason Lake. On the weekends my Dad would drive to Hood Canel and bring home a gunny sack full of oysters. He'd build a fire on the beach and we'd feast on oysters! Beautiful, and you so deserve this perfect day Brian! Thank you for helping me remember some really good times.
Another great Washington video. When I was a kid we had a cabin pretty much across the canal from where you were. Your video brought back many memories of swimming in the canal, picking oysters and boating. We didn't grill our oysters though. We either ate them raw on the beach or my mom fried them or made them into oyster stew. MMM. Unfortunately my family sold that cabin in 1962. The last time I visited Twanoh in April 2017 it was pelting it down with rain. The park was still a magical place.
That drive on 101 along the Hood Canal is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever driven ... and we are lucky enough to be living just 15 minutes away for the time being. Once my van is finished and I’m all situated, I will live everywhere. As he says, “Follow your dreams.” It was my son’s dream to live out here, so we made it happen. ☮️
Always a delight when one of your videos come up on my feed. Those oysters looked amazing but the salmon...oh wow that was a different level. Thank you.😍🏴🥰
Absolutely love your videos! Every single one! I am politely asking every you tuber that has a platform to bring recognition to the fact that people are leaving trash everywhere they go. Our public lands are being shut down slowly all across the country and if we don’t bring awareness to this before long there will be no where to camp! Please please please just encourage people to pick up their trash in your videos.
What a beautiful calm place you are staying and exploring awesome campsite, riding on the lake at sunset on kayaks, early oyster humting Real nice Brian A great time with friends
I love it. I grew up on the canal, we had a family cabin there. We still boat and play on canal. I live on a small farm in Olalla (Port Orchard is my town) thanks for sharing, was a wondergul drive around town and all of my favorite spots, I grew up in Redmond, WA and moved to Kitsap county in 2000 ....best decision I ever made, getting out of the metropolitain and into the great beyondo.
Reminds me of digging for clams on the Hood Canal almost fifty years ago. It was heavenly. Look life a perfect day... without a truck... you're doing it Bryan. Thanks for sharing it with us.
At this point should have bought a new rebuilt transmission installed it yourself if able ,wish you where closer to Missouri I would love to do it for you for free labor. Great video.
Thanks for sharing your day with us. My dad used to tell stories of gathering and eating oysters in NY's Long Island sound in the 60s. Looks like a great time!
That's a beautiful way to spend your Labor Day sending eating fresh roasted oysters and listen to some blues Stevie Ray Vaughan that's a nice chill day I always enjoy your videos safe travels
Another wonderful video. I'm not a shellfish fan, but very nearby are wild mushrooms. Dehydrated, they're a staple in my kitchen year round. What good times it looks like you're having. A bountiful feast shared with good friends.
Such a beautiful area wow. The only time I ever ate an oyster was in key West after about five shots LOL people talk to me into trying one. I just can't get past the way they look and the texture look. I do like clams however and muscles in garlic and wine sauce. The experiences you have out on the road or worth more than gold and you will have these memories well into your old age. I will never forget all the travels we have done and they are my fondest memories in life other than things like the birth of my children.
Man your one of the first can dweller guys I ever watched on utube..you sent me a couple of your stickers and ones on my camper the other ones in my screened in porch...brother we've both come so far since then..so much has happened..the good the bad and the ugly..but off we go..god bless and safe travels...that was a really cool video.. Take care of yourself....lee
Brian that swimming looked awesome along with the food. Salmon is one of my favorite sea foods. Glad to see you with friends and having a great time. Be careful.
I'm 62 years old and Brian I know that I met you I spent 14 years in San Diego between 1996 and 14 or 15 years beyond that but I have to say when I was a little kid at 7 years old my parents tried to feed me or oysters and well it didn't go so well I like seafood a lot better today maybe the experience would be somewhat different for today but I remember me almost trying to puke at the dinner table
That looks like a little piece of paradise. Great shot of you diving in the water. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful area. I’ve stayed a few times at Summertide Resort in Tahuya on the Hood Canal. So much fun.
