    I know this videos is from years ago but I really enjoyed the information. We may consider the Olympia area for retirement and get out of King County which is actually where you see the so called "Seattle Freeze" or "Bellevue Freeze" where we live. My husband and I have gone on daily walks for years and hardly anyone ever says hello. We even have said hello while passing and received no response. So odd! We have encountered much friendlier people outside the Seattle area in other areas such as Kitsap, Pierce and Thurston counties.

    • @LivingOlympia
      @LivingOlympia  6 месяцев назад +2

      Maybe some people on YT won't agree (the assholes) but there are many neighborhoods in Olympia where the people are so friendly and say hi and waive! Let us know if you need any help scouting areas if you do consider the area for retirement.

    Puyallup houses renting from $2,500 over $4,000
    Tacoma/Spanaway houses even more.
    One bedroom Tacoma is at least $1,800 not including water, sewer, garbage and electricity.
    Now if you don’t mind a rat-hole dump and sharing with multiple people, possibly $1,000 or less.
    State of Washington is a beautiful place but for decades has been continuously run into the ground by very corrupt government.

    My fiancee and I are planning to move here from California. Our current plan is to buy an RV and staying somewhere until we find some land to move to and eventually build our home. What kind of roadblocks would be in the way? Are there a lot of zoning laws and permits that would impact what we can do? Also would we have to deal with HOA's? We are both very against HOA's.

    Coming from the Denver area, these Olympia rental prices are beautiful. We're paying $1900 a month for an old ass 1BR apartment built in the 90's 30 minutes outside of Denver and absolutely sick of it. We have homeless too, that's definitely an issue all across America right now. That shouldn't deter anyone from living anywhere anymore cause you simply won't escape it. I would love to pay less and have more to do, Washington is looking pretty good to us right about now.

    What are the job opportunities like here? I'm an ex felon finishing parole for good behavior and to be honest I'm looking to start my life over. I'm enrolled in school and I'm a very hard worker. I was looking at the Washington State as a relocation spot but I keep researching bigger cities because I'm in school for marketing and I feel a bigger city would provide a great deal of opportunity, Which city would you recommend to be a great spot to start over in Washington? I dont want to be around a lot of crime but I understand my background might limit my housing opportunities.

    Who are you guys? You seem like really nice people. I live outside and I see Miles Bennett Dyson comment underneath this one, and I want to know who he is to think he can talk about us like we are cattle. You can not evict someone who is houseless if they are living in a public area. I have tried to help out my fellow Americans and I had everything I owned stole by an evil family who live behind a white picket fence. But I try to lift people spirits that have lost everything. Be careful what you say Miles because bad luck can happen to anyone and then you might be looking for me to tell you were to go to get a hot meal or stay safe. People who use those drugs have a story behind it and they have mental illness but there is no where to get help so they have to freeze outside. Have a heart and don't look at them as cattle because some of them are amazing people just on hard times right now. BTW I have love for you too Miles just thought you should know what you are talking about before you judge people like that. I stay out and ask that my housing money be put into a trust to raise money to help rescue POW MIA and I also use one of those drugs you mentioned because it helps calm me down and not get revenge on those evil people who collect a 7 grand check from the VA and swore an Oath on American Soldiers lives I could trust them and they were my friend and then stole everything I owned and tried attacking me 4 days after my father pasted away. It caused me mental illness. But I know love will conquer all and I find the strength thanks to my medicine which most frown upon to see the good in all people. The best I can anyways. I am not always medicated and I get upset and I don't even know if that trust has been established but as I swore an oath to defend this country when I became a citizen I said put that 7 grand and my housing money into a trust to rescue fallen soldiers and I could see him as a friend. (I still have to do it because of the messed up choose I made when I wasn't thinking right after loosing my father a hero to me but try seeing a person who tells you he drowns puppies because it turns him on and was willing to put a curse on our military as a friend. It's hard to do. But if Jesus could forgive then I am inspired to do the same. God Bless you all. )
