I figured out the Las Vegas Opener for myself. There is no tutorial I can find online. I'm not sure what the point of these videos are if there's no tutorials included. I can pretty safely assume the books included in this video are LONG out of print and expensive on reselling websites. But, it did help me flex my figurin' out brain muscle! So, thanks Craig!!
All great tricks! Think LA opener was my favourite, will have to give that a go. Only ever used double facers for AW...I use Josh Jay’s ‘Waltzing cheek to cheek’ which is fantastic!
Hey Craig, another excellent video. Thanks so much for sharing! One of my favourite double facer routines is Stand Up Monte by Garett Thomas. It blows people away and I use it as my opener. It catches their attention and gives me credibility right off the bat. Your videos are excellent my friend. Thanks again for your willingness to share! You are doing so much for the magic community. Much appreciated!
Thanks Craig for your videos and especially the collection "3 Tricks Using ...". It reminds me, long time ago the Book collection "The Very Best .....". One question, the "Las Vegas Opener" requires also a double backer, isn't it? Finally, great job with the Cube 52 !
I do McD's Aces but haven't come across these. I bought the bicycle 'mixed fekes' deck and now have a use for some of them. 'Joker Joker' by Gordon Bean is available as a free PDF online with the bonus routine 'The Los Angeles Open' and I'll be doing this it's super easy. Many thanks.
Great magic love them can you send me the learning video for the double backers and what else you have done thanks Craig. I showed you my trick in cafe in Blackpool unfortunately Saturn wasn't interested. Redvers
Thanks for doing this video. I have Random Acts of Magic and had overlooked the Mad Cow Disease trick and Jim's Pick. I'm going to start learning them now. I like that kind of magic in the spectator's hands. One day we will be able to do those tricks again with people.
I wouldn't even mention restoring the card at the beginning of Mad Card Disease. Your audience in bound to say something to the effect of, "But can't you put it back together?" Magic-on-demand is super-powerful as it appears you can do virtually anything. Loved all these effects. I'm definitely picking up some double-backers.
After I figured out the Mad Cow disease, and it's amazing by the may, it right away replaced the index on my Shadow wallet! Damn I had to carry this trick on me ALL THE TIME! It is so good thx!!! Now I merge this with a torn and restore (''mag net thick'' on the bouble facer) and man this trick got people going buzzzzzzzzerk! There is a lot of people walking by at my job and I do magic trick for them! This trick got the biggest reaction yet!!!
Thanks for showing us these Craig - loved all three of those routines, especially the LA Opener! Just gave it a try, but I’m left with the extra face up card in the spread. I’ll search out Gordon Bean to see if I can get hold of the routine - I’m sure I’m missing something obvious! Great channel btw 👏🏻
@@godfreyblatcher5772 I wondered about RS, but after a second viewing I realised that Craig gives a very discreet but helpful verbal clue. No RS or sticky required. What a great little effect!
@@AndyCooper761 Yes I think I've got it now after a few hours of playing around! There has to be a DB and a DF and a nifty move and flip over (well in the version I've worked out there is!). Really like this effect and it's a good I've got some old Waddington cards to play around with. Just need to make a DB from a new Bicycle pack now. Thanks Craig for introducing this trick.
Theres a great trick by Gaeton Bloom with a double faced card if i remember rightly from Apocalypse magazine and i think it must be in Gaetons books also by Kevin James.
3 great effects, the open prediction has really bugged me as I'm seeing the moves but can't work out the change that's happening! Grrrrrr! May have to buy it just to allow me to sleep!
@@abhishekab1 I have the book. You can't figure it out becase Craig's presentation and explanation says it's only a thought of card with no other information. In showing the trick, I think Craig was concerned about revealing the method, given the title of the video reveals a lot. It's a great trick, but it isn't mind reading.
The book is out of print but I found it on Ebay. Jim's pick would be a true miracle if done the way you presented it. The trick as taught in the book is a really great trick, but what you did is literally impossible. I guess you were more concerned with not revealing the trick than you were with presenting an honest performance.
If you ever do a 'Three Amazing Magic Books You'Ve Never Heard Of' video then David Acer's 'Random Acts of Magic' would be on there. A superb book that's rarely included in lists of 'must-haves', which is a shame as there is so much killer stuff in there. Also, never seen Las Vegas Opener before: What a superbly clean effect! I can't imagine anyone not being fooled by that, it looks exactly as it would if you could do it for real. Definitely seeking that one out.

I love all three of those routines. The torn card at the beginning is my absolute favourite.
The Las Vegas Opener is fantastic! Thanks for share!
i emailed Gordon Beam and the trick is called The Los Angeles Opener. A wonderful effect thanks Craig.
Cool, thanks
Just to clarify, for anyone looking for this, the title is The Los Angeles Open.
All great tricks! Think LA opener was my favourite, will have to give that a go. Only ever used double facers for AW...I use Josh Jay’s ‘Waltzing cheek to cheek’ which is fantastic!
I absolutely adore that book!
Great uses with double facers.👍👍
One of the best videos i've seen in a while. I loved those routines!
I have some double facers with the same card on both sides. How can I use those

Brill video! I have searched high and low for Las Vegas opener and Mad card disease! Any clues where I can download etc ! Thanks

I didn't like the first at all, but the two others were excellent!
I'm working on combining Mad Card Disease with Rip by Daniel Madison. It's a really neat card restoration that happens the spectator's hand.
Nice tricks with DB card ! i also use a DB card for a signed card in wallet really effective & works well

Check out Chris Congreave’s routine based on it from his nee book. It’s even better.
Craig where can I find Las Vegas Opener by Gordon Beam please?
As usual I’ll be going back to my bookshelf.
You should do! Go there now! 🤣🤣
Great video craig, what is the name of that book that has Jim's pick in it?
Random Acts of Magic by David Acer 👍

I thought it was a great effect too. The card prediction is pretty easy but It has me intrigued too as to how the reveal is so clean - roughing stick?

Joker Joker or Las Vegas Opener? Like your performance but wasn't sure if it was joker joker or Las Vegas Opener?
Craig....rewatched and found my answer but where can I find?
What about 3 tricks with a jumbo deck?
What a BRILLIANT IDEA.
Here in the states you can find the new Thin Bicycle Jumbo Decks on sale for about $4 or regular for about $7.50
I must have had one too many drinks because obviously you're using double facers but I still don't know how the trick is done lol
Got it!
pls explain
@@SUSUK_MY I actually bought something similar Rick Lax's Tornado.
I like it all , all the 3 tricks but without the tutorial I don't know what's the point in making this video 🤗👍
exactly. Bullshit
