    Just wanted to comment on here to give anyone thinking about purchasing some first-hand customer experience. Fit on my 2021 4x4 Supercrew f150 was excellent, welds and finish were all great. I'm a home-gamer who would be at best an intermediate mechanic and I was able to go from unboxing to completely installed in an afternoon. The biggest problem I faced was getting the bolts to thread on the closest nut retainer on the larger bracket. For some reason, I had the damnedest time trying to get that bolt to properly thread in. I ended up walking the hole in the frame by about a 1/16th to the wheels and then everything lined up well.
    Bwoody's customer support has been very helpful. I had an issue which was more than likely my fault (Make sure that you tighten your leaf spring u-bolts to proper spec the first time, no counting ugga duggas.) and they responded within two business days, stating they were sorry for the delay. Would purchase from them again!

    It looks like a really decent kit, and considering it for my truck.
    Just curious, after drilling into the frame wouldn't you recommend some rust prevention for the holes? I understand that the brackets seem necessary for a solid connection, but is the frame not strong enough to hold the bolts by itself by drilling the correct diameter thread pitch?
    Also, Would the kit help with squat when towing?
    Again, just curious. Other that that, I've heard good things about the kit.

    • @bwoodyperformance4220
      @bwoodyperformance4220  Год назад

      Apologies for the late response. We do recommend rust prevention sprays for customers located in very salt prone areas. I'm not understanding the second part of your question regarding the frame brackets however. Also, This kit does not help with squatting when towing.
      If you have any other questions feel free to reach out to us! tech@bwoodyperformance.com

    Got my kit in and it seems the frame on my 2018 is slightly different than the one you're working with. If I sit the bracket up against the leaf spring mount as you instruct, the front hole that already exists does not quite line up with the bracket...it sits behind the hole by about ¼". Either I open up the hole more or I scoot the bracket forward some just enough to get it to line up. I'm not sure how important it is to have the bracket up against the leaf spring mount, but the latter would definitely be a lot easier.

    • @xxdemonshitxx
      @xxdemonshitxx 2 года назад +2

      @@cklochaklipira11769 I ended up working it out on my own. The rear hole that you have to drill sits on an indention in the metal and will not allow the provided bracketed nut plate to sit flush inside the frame. This didn't sit well with me so I opened up the hole and used an appropriate sized nutsert...which then forced me to open the front hole to get it to line up.

    Hello,
    I just received my traction bars and I have a question regarding the U-bolt. You don’t address torquing them or if they should be replaced or not. Do you recommend replacing them or reusing them and do you have a torque spec that you recommend for them. Thank you

    Forgive my lack of knowledge but will these work on a 2023 F-150 platinum 4x4 with 6.5 bed ? Truck has power running boards. Truck has been fitted with the ford performance Bilstein leveling kit and after installing a whipple supercharger now i feel i need something like this to help plant the power.

    Do stock U-bolts still work if you don’t remove a leaf?

  • @xxdemonshitxx
    @xxdemonshitxx 3 года назад +1

    I'm installing this on a 4 inch Maxtrac flip kit and I'm running into major leaf spring clearance issues when attempting to attach the bar to the front bracket. I believe the problem lies with the Maxtrac kit using front leaf spring hangers. If I remove the hanger, I believe it will drop me to 6"...not quite what I'm aiming for. If I remove the lower leaf springs, I will have to either replace the center spring pack bolts as they will be too long and the nut will run out of threads when tigtening, or get a tap and dye set and thread the bolt more. The description for these traction bars say they work on trucks flipped or not...which isn't entirely accurate.

      Send us an email and we can go over a few options with you to find a solution.

      @@bwoodyperformance4220 Ahh I see...it wasn't just referring to Belltech drop kits. And when it asks whether or not you have a front Belltech kit...is that referring to the hangers as well? It's starting to make sense...the wording just threw me off since I'm not working with Belltech at all. I'll send that email.
