That waterfall footage is some of the best I have seen. Certainly in the UK. I know it feels like pressure is always on to get the edit and get it out... but take time to breath and tell the story. Don't forget that for some of your audience this will be the first time that they have seen these classics. Few kayakers have the wider storytelling skills that you have Bren....just want to see more!!
@@Senders Just love hearing more of your storytelling - I'm just getting old and miss those old VHS days where you would watch the same thing over and over again. Keep doing what you are doing!
I have to say, "That was a very close call." I just goes to show how easy it could be to lose everything over a fall with a submerged tree. Keep safe Bren
Welsh kayaking is renowned for submerged trees! Have a scout and try and skip out 😄Highlighting the dangers of what lies beneath the surface is definitely necessary and it baffles me how many of us don’t take it into consideration! It’s so so so important to have a wealth of experience and knowledge of all aspects of white water within the group! Kayaking is an amazing sport that takes you to some of the most beautiful places! I’ve had my fair share of near misses and thanks to a very wise middle aged kiwi based kayakers advice I’ve managed to enjoy this beautiful sport and make some good decisions along the way! Fair play Chips if your not feeling it there’s no shame! That’s also something the up and comers need to see 👍 The great thing about these little edits is that they are full of experiences that are not over exaggerated when talked about in the pub after with your buddies 😉 And most importantly they contain information that we many can learn from and could possibly help reduce the chances of someone else having a near miss! Nice Edit, keep up the good work and be safe out there boys and girls
That expression on Henry's after running that first waterfall face was priceless! You guys had way too much fun there: my hands are itching to go paddling again, but the water levels here are atrocious for what is supposed to be our main kayaking season! Glad to hear that you managed to get out from underneath that tree: that sounds like a potentially deadly situation. Just goes to show that we can never be too careful when it comes to scouting and guessing what risks might be hidden under water!
So cool to capture that, dude was stoked! Hope you get out on the water soon mate! I looked for your dm on insta for early access to this edit but didn't see one?
Really enjoy the love and work you put in the edits and the river, makes your vids special to me. I hope there will be a firecracker review as soon as you get your hands on it 🤙🏼
Honestly, you’re motivating me to push myself in kayaking, getting over the fear and facing head on safely! Keep it up! South wales is getting visited!!
getting caught under a tree, is scary. I was sucked under one, and the water was so powerful. Glad you made it out alright and hope the back is alright
Big congrats to Henry on his first. Perfect. Still waiting on mine. Glad you came out OK - hope the back heals quick. Pulled muscles suck. Stay safe Bren & co.!
I love your videos Bren. I’m just a flat water kayaker, who doesn’t have the skills or the guts to do anything like you, but that doesn’t stop me dreaming that I could. Keep having awesome experiences and showing them to people like me.
It’s such a beautiful waterfall man and so clean. Obviously have to have a bit of experience but this is such a great one to practice and dial in your technique!
Top quality video, as always Bren. Some scary tree action in there too (not sure if the tree boof is madness or genius😂). Stay safe and have fun buddy!
That tree boof made me feel very uncomfortable, unfortunately the bottom half of the Nedd Fechan is a bit full of trees, the portaging gets old real quick!
Despite it only being an hour and a half from my front door, I still haven't got on the Mellte! Sick video, loved the tree boof. Keep up the good work 🤟👍
Great video! Certainly the best footage I've seen of these rivers. Do I get any freestyle points for getting stuck on the ledge on the Mellte drop and getting surfed in the stopper that forms from the incoming channel?!
Dreaming of a clear day with nice light and a drone... or if it is dark and rainy again to at least remember to film in 10bit and not 8bit slowmo when I have to push the image around a lot in post. You definitely get freestyle points for that side surf!
@@Senders 8 bit can be pushed. Looked good to me! Yeah, you know that famous Home Alone poster of Macaulay Culkin with his hands either side of his face in shock? That was Dan Rea Dickins paddling with me that day!
Haha, love that image! I find it so hard to deal with the water colours and tones at the edges of the waterfalls as it turns into dark rock and shadows. Felt like it got noisy pretty quick too. Would love to go kayaking and talk cameras with you at some point mate!
@@Senders That would be a great day! PM me with the camera and picture profile settings you were using and I'll see if I can come up with any suggestions.
You guys are beasts, congratulations! Your backs take pretty heavy loads, I advise you to do some back and core strengthening exercises every second day
No doubt! Always good to respect good decision making, that being said the fact Chips has fired off that thing four times is crazy to me. He’s a wild man!

Hope you healed quickly.

Llanberis? Ready for fast, out of control, and it hurt? ;-)
Big up “chips” I think, for missing the rapid in the video.

Hey Bren, do you ever paddle in Ireland?
I have done in the past and I would love to come back mate!
have run so many abseil sessions from that point 5:45
Whereabouts - I live in Neath and I don't recognise it
I cant even paddleboard 😂
How is nobody talking about 9:23… nutty
Haha, I was waiting for someone to spot and comment on that. Glad to see you paying attention bruvva!
Tree sounds pretty nasty, stay safe
👌
Shit that looks sick, shame i never got to paddle in whales :)
Not yet mate, still time!
so this was a "near death video"
more like a momentary wet and uncomfortable video
It's a pyranha of course it got damaged easily.
