- The Gaula is such a stout and unique piece of water! I was stoked to get a lap down this thing and to drop into all those monster rapids.
Much respect to the team that got the first descent, you can watch the video of that here -

I finished editing this early in the morning, later that night I got home at 2.30am to find Adrian had waited up for me to tell me the news about Robbie's accident. When we woke up that next morning we received the news he had died I hospital. I was a mess for a few days and mostly drunk. A few days later I forced myself to go through all the footage that we had shot of him this summer which was brutal but beautiful to rediscover all those beautiful times with the kid and important for me to share them with everyone. Having Robbie fired up on the Gaula changed the whole tone of the descent down this thing and I know for sure I would have portaged a rapid or two if I didn't have Bobby stoking me up for it. I truly loved having Robbie with us this summer and can look back and remember many a great time spent on the water with him or some sort of shenanigans off the water. All the time he was making safe, well thought out decisions about what he was capable of, it felt like I was on the water with someone much older than Robbie's 20 years. I don't think I will be 'normal" for a while and it's going to take some time for me to do so. All I know is that I will forever remember being on the water with Robert Egglestone. You can watch the edit I made of him in Norway this summer here - • Robert Eggleston | Nor...
Really liked the disclaimer/analysis of video content at the end. More of this please :)
Totally. And such a valid point to not simply do something just because someone else did it on social media. Different days, different crews, different ability levels.
Been thinking about you boys a lot the past few days. Wish you all good lines! This was gnarly af.
Yeah, me too. I love watching, but they sure push the envelope.
Cool footage. So sorry about Robbie.
Good to hear you didn’t hit any rocks on no3. I hit the rocks super hard when we did the first D. That one is definitely a roll of the dice.
The OG Gaula video. I tried to find that the other day and I couldn’t! You need to reupload it! Hope you are well bro!
1:08 Sick cut!
That looked spectacular and downright scary in several places!
Thank you for the disclaimer, Bren, as this is something I think most of us mortal people just shouldn't run!
I'm not a bad paddler, but this is one of those cases where I'd say: rather you than me!
There’s a Reason I love this channel…. @send … pleasure to meet this dude at teeside :)
Wow! That is insane. New follower here. Great video. Crow✌️
Mega whitewater. Huge kudos to the team for running it and for the safety warning near the end of the edit
Never assume - always scout and make informed decisions based on the present water and group-ability situation.
What’s the river name ?
Is the Gaula near the Voss ? We are in Norway right?
That's a rowdy boi!
Life is fleeting. Brenshitz forever 💙
What an out there boating friend of the 90s described as an OXO river. Everything either grade 0 or portage.
Huge stout rapids is understating it.
Amazing, how do you read what you can't see?
Oh I wish I could have run this back when I was still a high level boater.... :)
I run the upper Yough about bi weekly and I think that's crazy. Wow
that thing is a beast. Please shoot/edit videos in 60 fps!
Soooooooooo epic!!!
if the River is crazy????? What do we call these People in the kayaks?
Rip.
Non capisco che gusto ci sia a rischiare la vita, quando essa è già di per se stessa appesa ad un filo. Ma certe persone non lo hanno ancora capito, nonostante la loro età...
RIP Adrian Kiernan 😞
Robbie, not Adrian I believe..
