    Great scape. Few things. That ada soil, along with almost all plant substrates will releases ammonia into the water for the first month or so, and no filter (cycled), will be able to counteract that as the set up is so new. Those stones are known to increase water hardness too, which crystal shrimp hate.
    I love the channel and watch all the time, and I’m sure you know what you’re doing. Thought I’d mention it in the event you’re having shrimp deaths. Crystals are much more sensitive than like cherry or blue shrimp. I found out the hard way what plant substrate can do, lol.
    Blessings my man. Thanks for the content.

    "Java fern and Anubias are pretty tough" -- I'll say. I once was trimming up a tank and tossed some Anubias in a bucket to move to a storage tank later. And forgot. When I finally remembered them at the back of the room, all the water had evaporated but about an inch and they'd been in near-total darkness for months. They were fine. XD

    I have some green Cabomba that is not doing so well as single stems ... they don't stay planted, never seem to get good root formation, etc. I may put them in bunches like you have.

    • @AccessibleCruises
      @AccessibleCruises 3 года назад +1

      I've done the bundle method and it work well with them. I found the key was to not crowd them with other plants and allow them to speed out their stems. I'm guessing the leave can better photosynthesize and less chance for algae growth.

    Even though you don't have a saltwater aquarium the cyanoacrylate super glue gel is also safe for corals

    Do you use CO2 for the aquarium plants?

    What if you do a continuous scape with four sections for the lower rack? Like maybe a nice four part classic iwagumi or ryuboku or something.

    Dont shrimps need a matured tank with some biofilm on the hardscape? Just wondering the instant scaping approach even with the magic water :)

      I think because his plants and sponge filter were in other tank there is enough to keep the shrimp going

      Shrimp can eat bio film. They can also eat shrimp food too.
      The idea of having a mature tank is mainly for water stability.
      New nutrient rich substrate will leach more before tapering off. Plants that have been uprooted or plant trimmings take a while to recover before they start growing again. So the amount of nitrates they pull out hasn't stabilize.
      I'm sure MD knows what he's doing though so he can manage it.

    Amazing work & video! This is exactly what I want to make. A planted nano shrimp tank, but I can't decide since I've read something about the tank water evaporating and that it is not healthy if you breath it in. What do you think about that?

      Especially if someone doesn't do water changes.

    What is that plant weight, lead? Wouldn't that be an issue for fish/shrimp?
