- Susan and Irene show unmolding a block of soap and then cutting the soap into logs. They show how the mold has been lined inside the mold and then cuts the 25 block into logs.
After the soap is cut into 15 logs then each log is cut into bars.
Susan's Soaps & More is a handmade soap business making natural soaps and skin care products for over 20 years.
The top question we get asked is "Where can I get that soap cutter?"
We purchase our from For Crafts Sake.
Totally Awesome!! Thank you for tour! I wish schools could take small tours so shops like this! I really enjoyed it
Woow. Nice cutting machine👍Thx for sharing
Another WOW!!! Love that cutter too. I always wondered how you cut big blocks of soap like that. Amazing. Thanks for letting us have a look at your shop. It's wonderful.
Best soap video I've seen all day. I will look for your other videos. Thank you so much for sharing
So satisfying watching that soap get cut up. Major goosebumps looks Amazing 🤗
Glad you liked it.
That cutter is just amazing
Great an improvised gadget
As I understand it's not improvised but bought
Fun series! I'll have to look up the other episodes! Soapy thumbs up from one creator to another. I use the Costco boxes to stack or do the Aleppo stacks that can be shifted around for the bigger batches. Crazy how like minds think alike. Loved it. :)Jen
I love you jen
Awesome soap workshop!
Thanks so much for the video
Glad you liked the video. Yes we melt the oils and mix the lye, actually a couple of days before and then adjust the temps to where we want them the day of mixing.
Thanks for the positive feedback.
@pampamy Thanks for your question. I don't need to preserve the soaps because of the ph factor. Eventually, the oils can go rancid but they won't actually spoil with bacteria.
I have never seen such a huge soap !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice sop
Thanks so much for commenting. I appreciate all the good things you had to say. Glad you enjoyed the tour. I have another series about the process that I need to put together and get posted. Soon. Soon. I hope.
Regarding the cutter you used for cutting the soap into blocks, where did you buy it from and what is the name ?
I'm just starting in the saponification and I think it's great! I love your videos that I find really informative. it's cool
On the other hand (and I speak knowingly) you should spare your back!
Thanks.
@RunicAxe It is a combination of factors; your original formula including your water percentage as well as how soon you cut it after it has been poured.
parabéns ganhou mais um escrito
hello, how are you? wonderful set of videos, very instructive...I have one quick questions, when using that large mold, can you use acrilic separators so you end up with the log to cut into bars and to avoid cutting that big cube of soap? take care...
Yes. You can
Great Vidoe!! I noticed you pre-melted your oil and pre-mixed your lye the day before. I was wondering if you mixed them at room temp the next day or if you had to re-warm the oils or lye?
Hi, I'm from México and I have a question, where I can buy a "cutter" like yours? The smallest one that is shown in this video. Thanks a lot, and congrats for your work
Thanks for your comment. We get our cutters from For Crafts Sake which you can find online. The next convention is coming up soon at the end of April and is located in Denver. You can find out more and sign up at the Handcrafted Soapmakers Guild website. I will be there so if you attend make sure and look me up.

How long did you have to wait before you were able to cut that giant block of soap?....Sorry if this questions already been asked.
For some reason I didn't see this earlier, but we cut the soap block the next day.
Hi, from who is your soap cutter? Thanks
Nifty.
Careful with your back, Irene!
Where do you buy the massive soap molds?
Strong I want to get like you dear good job.
What is the size of your bar soap, the weight, height, width and length ?
If you do a water discount, the saponification process will go much faster and it reduces drying time by weeks.
carolineleiden actually for cold processed soap, the saponification process is usually complete after about 8 hours. While using in a discounted recipe it does aid in speeding up the curing process, but this isn’t the same as the bar needing time to saponify.
@@Lacroix999 I cook my soap. A water discount really saves on cooking time.
carolineleiden yes, but cooking, curing and saponification are all not the same thing. I took your comment to mean that the saponification process takes weeks which is not the same thing as curing.
carolineleiden the saponification process of hot processed soap is complete when it’s cooled. It may still need time to cure but again that’s not the same.
Actually, we get about 90 bars from a 1/2 block and approx. 180 from a full block of soap.
What is the size of your bar soap, the weight, height, width and length ?
i just whanted to know about your cuter the one to cut the bars thank you

РАХМЕТ ТАМАША.
If you would heat those wires with electricity. You would not need to push the wires through so hard.
That is an excellent idea.
I would like to know how to make washing clothes soap not powder soap
I don't make any clothes washing soap. This video just shows a little bit about how we make bars. Liquid soapmaking is a whole different process. There are a number of books on the market. I would check into those.
Defne sabunu kullanın dökülen saçları çıkartıyor
Sir I need machine where available nepal
It is from For Crafts Sake. I don't know if they ship outside the US or not.
I need a LOT of soap after I pinch a log!
Cheap soap for loundry
Why do you cut those thin parts? Cut in a way that one will be thicker. Thin ones are unusable.
Not sure what you mean by this?
All that bending can’t be good for Irens back, even though she’s bending her legs, there’s gotta be a more less strenuous way.
