Because I answered his unanswerable question in about 3 seconds.... one which he claimed "nobody ever answered" He's obviously objectively biased and refused anything that would disagree with his views. If I figured it out in seconds, surely many others did as well. Admit it, you only like him cause hes atheist. I used to be atheist too. Whats sad is, I was never a believer, most atheist only become atheist in college or high school or something, I was thinking about philosophical ideas like eternity and God at 6, so you think just like a 6 year old. His essays on literature and politics were enthralling quite apart from the whole "New Athiest" thing. That label and scene was only one part of Hitchens life and work, though it became his main preoccupation toward the end.

    • @heliosgnosis2744

      The problem is the belief that there is a left and right as well as a neutral place. We all need to accept and face the problems all of us face on this world together with political and religious views set aside to do it. In so not working this way together it will always been one against another until one group finally wipes out the other groups, and then they will turn on each other and the cycle will keep going and going and going, until a paradigm shift as a whole or a world wide event happens that forces us to act like nice and friendly neighbors to survive and say who cares if you think different, look different, speak different, we are all human and will not make it unless we focus on only that as our commonality to fix the problem and keep it all separate. This goes for the governmental systems of every single nation and every single religion worldwide. Not doing so, well the two things are the only solution, regardless of opinion , such is not hard to see what I say is the one truth of the problem as a whole. But in so having this mindset I am a outcast because I do not have a side. Unless that side means, setting aside all to work on all of our problems with no outside influences of beliefs to faluter progress. This sounds neutral but it is not, neutral is ignoring all sides. I accept all sides and see them all to be the problem. Culture is not our friend, Religion not the way, political parties not the cure, logic is the winner, being a fellow human the only truth and belief system to move foward.

      the democrats could have easily won the '16 election if they ran with Bernie Sanders. But of course, the democrats have sold out to wall street and the corporations long ago, and there was no way the corporations would allow a socialist to have a chance at winning, so they rigged the primaries for Hillary. absolutely disgusting, so the democrats and "crooked" hillary lost my vote right there
      didn't vote for Trump because I am a registered voter in Texas, and Texas was gonna go for Trump anyway. not being in a swing state means that my vote truly did not matter in the '16 election when it came to the presidential race.
      however, once i saw that the democrats cheated to put hillary up for the race, i knew trump was gonna win anyway. anyone who thought that after 8 years of obama's liberal elitism and hypocrisy, that the democrats had a chance to win under hillary is delusional

    So the far left.... antifa, people who want to stop free thought, and crush any opposition to their crazy beliefs, also they are racists as well, are better than the far right? No they are one in the same, and the far left is arguably more dangerous because they have reach and they can sway public actions. Ive never been in a situation where ive been afraid to say its bad to be racist against minorities, or where ive been afraid to defend the rights of people on the left or any person of color. But i have had to think to myself before i open my mouth and speak out against conservative censorship or against racism against white people bc i be attack for that. Ive lost friends over that sort of thought but ive never lost friends for goimg against the far right. So the far left is more dangerous by far.

      @FINNSTIGAT0R 4 года назад +1

      @@williamdraken6018 Well that's exactly where they get their legitimacy from, there's countless and countless of social theories and schools of thought that have been pushed out for decades, that make the left seem as the default position to have in societal issues. It's the intellectual basis for their revolutionary actions. Every revolution has to have some basic corner stones to be an effective and long lasting one.
      1) intellectual justification
      2) backing from sympathetic mass media(s)
      3) activists outside of the political system that make the dirty work of suppressing opposition, either violently, non-violently or both
      I left out the obvious ones, which of course are political parties, military and law enforcement.
      It's like at some point there was an invisible and unspoken agreement between the left and the right where they agreed that the right can handle the economics, while the left got to have the educational and media entities. Of course it was not a real, actual agreement, but if it would've been, then kudos to the left for playing the long game, since now they're reaping the benefits of that deal.

    • @slippyC73
      @slippyC73 4 года назад +2

      I'm left leaning and I somewhat agree. The left is more vocal and hateful in what they say. I believe it is because these people are in pain and don't know any other way to express it.
      Conservatives or right leaning people seem to hold their pain inside themselves more. They look at how you are infringing on them and less about their personal problems.
      There is one thing that conservatives don't seem to see about their side. People who are a little less stable seem to be more likely to kill than people on the left. It may be that conservatives, in general, have better access to firearms. It is not really access, I guess, but just more a part of their lives. To me, it isn't a bad thing for conservatives to enjoy guns(I've owned them myself in the past). It's a problem when someone has one that shouldn't.
      I think even most conservatives think there should be better background checks. Yet they get blamed, because their Representatives are bought and paid for just like on the left.

      Think of Denmark. I often hear support for the “Denmark” model when I say show me a socialist society that has worked. Here’s the thing, Denmark has the label of socialism but is total free market in practice. Do your own research to fact check these facts. First of all, now this is very important, Denmark is roughly the SIZE OF MARYLAND. A system that works in such a small nation is not going to work in a powerhouse of a country with a large AND extremely diverse population. There a a FEW quasi-socialist systems Denmark. FIFTY percent, HALF of every citizens money goes to income and sales tax YET the average citizen of Denmark has substantially less (I believe 28%) disposable income than the average American. Denmark is rated one of the easiest places in the world. Third I Believe. Second only to Singapore and one other-sounds pretty capitalist huh? They also receive “free healthcare”. But it’s not free. That’s part of what that 50% of their income goes to covering and even with that a large and growing percentage of the populace has decided to spend even more money to get private healthcare because the government one is near worthless in many instances. They have free public school but a substantial and growing amount of parents choose to pay to send their kids to private school. College is also ”free” (hard to call it that when half of your money pays contributes to paying for it. It even includes a living allowance but they have a BIG problem with a lot of students just staying in school becoming life long students for the free ride therefor never contributing to society at large. Also, a lot of kids that would never pay to go to college because they don’t have enough interest in it for one reason or another choose to go just for a few years of free living. Their consumer economy operates within a total capitalist free market system and for that reason alone they can’t be considered a socialist nation. There are examples like this for days but this is just a RUclips comment. Do your own reading for 5 minutes and you will see many more examples of the few socialist policies they still have failing and the capitalist/free market policies they have succeeding. Now can you give me an example of a true modern socialist society success story?

      @@deletedforprivacy1948 Incorrect: "Fascism is when you can't put a cigarette paper between the interests of the government and corporate business interests" -Mussolini. Now you tell me who is pro-business. This revisionist view of history is baseless and has no substance. Authoritarianism can be right wing or left wing, fascism is a specific brand of authoritarianism that is specifically based on race. It is state capitalist. You might want to actually read some left-wing literature before you make some absurd claims like this. Fascism is not just authoritarianism. Your definition of of fascism as being left-wing is only based in the fact that fascism is authoritarian. Using that logic, fascism would be considered something that can be either left or right which is basically means that definition of fascism is the exact same as the definition of authoritarianism. Also, a name of a party doesn't mean anything. You claim Hitler was a globalist because he wanted to expand his authority which was nothing unique at the time. You clearly have forgotten that colonialism was occurring not only during Hitler's reign but also well after his time in power. The West didn't care what Hitler was doing because they did the exact same thing (slavery, Jim crow, apartheid, etc.....). The allies (mainly just US and UK) only got involved once Hitler's interests conflicted with the interests their own, hence the policy of appeasement. You have a basic lack of context which isn't allowing you to understand this. Also, your idea of what globalism is is wrong. (I'll use the US as an example here). In order to understand 'globalism', you have to understand capitalism (neoliberalism). You would claim to be a capitalist and, based on what you have commented, seem to be an isolationist. The problem with that is that they are incompatible. Capitalism is dependence the the accumulation of natural resources as natural resources are the foundation for all wealth in a capitalist society. For mass production to occur, it is necessary to have an abundance of resources. The problem is, where are these resources? These resources are in 'third-world' countries. This is why capitalism (both what built it and what sustains it today) is inherently incompatible with isolationism. The US (and all western countries since the US are filled the power vacuum that opened up post-WWII since Europe was in ruins) depends on these resources that ultimately come from third-world countries. These multinational business that are the pillars of capitalism go into these countries and repatriate all the wealth that they generate from the resources they gathered. Now, you would argue that is good for those countries because it creates jobs there. That is true. However, these jobs are only temporary and ultimately is bad for the economy (think of places like Detroit where all the factories closed down. However, this is exaggerated in third world countries as this makes up for the majority of the economies there). This is why the US has consistently installed pro-western business leaders (who ruthlessly murder innocent people: for example, in El Salvador where the US backed paramilitaries were throwing live babies in fires) in third world countries throughout the 20th century and continuing into today. Capitalism is dependent on this exploitation of the third world and there is absolutely no way to dispute this, it is fact. To provide an example of this, we give Africa billions of dollars in aide. Despite this, Africa actually loses roughly 40 billions more than it receives in aide because of this repatriation of wealth by multinational companies. This is the paradox of nationalism in a capitalist context. You are conflating nationalism with isolationism which, in a capitalist society, is an oxymoron. Capitalism is dependent on a global market. It always has been, and always will be. To get back to you calling Hitler a Socialist, that doesn't make any sense. I mean just look at Henry Ford for example. Ford loved the fascism and there is absolutely no way he could be called a socialist as he is clearly a capitalist, hence the ford company. There is a lot of stuff wrong with what you said and it stems from a basic lack of understanding of both capitalism, socialism, and really anything related to politics/history. Our modern world (capitalism) was built on 'globalism' (colonialism, slavery, taking wealth in the form of natural resources from other countries, etc....). I am aware that you are going to reject everything I have claimed and call it lies. These are facts, plain and simple. I encourage you to hit me with anything to try and prove me wrong and say that Nazism is socialism or left-wing because I will disprove all of your claims as they are based in fantasy. Also, Liberalism/Neoliberalism is not a left-wing ideology. Socialism (which is a catch all term, including things like communism and anarchism [libertarian socialism]) is anti-liberalism as liberalism a variant of capitalism. Lastly, it is important to realize that socialism is not marxism. Marxism is a sub-category under the big tent of socialism. Therefore, not all socialists are marxists. The reason why I include this breakdown is because this is crucial to understand. You clearly have a 2 dimensional view of politics. There is a difference between economics and authoritarianism. Left-wingers and Capitalists can be (and have been) authoritarian in theory Left-wingers and Capitalists can also be libertarian in theory. There is a whole world of left-wing ideology that branched off and vehemently opposes the form of authoritarian socialism (which, generally speaking, is Marxist-Leninism) that you are familiar with. You cannot break history up into stages that are independent of one another. History is an ongoing thing that builds on from what happened before. You arrive at erroneous conclusions (like those you stated) when you break history up into separate entities. In order to understand where we are today, where we were yesterday, where we were 100 years ago, or even where we were 1000 years ago, you have to look at what came before.
      Edit: Forgot to say that I, just like you, think that these PC liberals are batshit crazy. They are liberals who are centrists who do not understand anything about what is going on in the world. To put it into context, I am a socialist by the way. Real left-wingers have been calling out this PC shit before you right-wingers started calling it out. Real left-wingers have been critical of the MSM and pop culture before you right-wingers started calling it out. In fact, the Frankfurt School which you right-wingers claims created this PC cultural marxism crap, were actually vehemently opposed to the very things you claim they are spreading. Do your self a favor and actually go and read some left-wing literature so you can properly understand this. You have to do this in order to learn. You cannot read one side, you have to read both. It is impossible to be against something if you do not understand the very basic principles of the thing you are advocating against. Use your brain and do some thinking for yourself.

      The mistaken assignment of Nazism to the “right” fails to take into account that the Nazis were to the right of the Communist and the socialists but not to the right of the Center Party and the Nationalists. The Communists and the Nazis were the radicals, but both were anti-Weimar. The parties to the right of the Nazis were not, and by including Hitler were seeking to save as much of the Weimar regime as they could. Of course they failed because of the advantage Hitler took from the Reichstag fire.

    • @markgorenshtein1946
      @markgorenshtein1946 4 года назад

      Judy S. Hitler was influenced very heavily by the Communist “thought leaders”, he based a lot of his early platform on Socialism, called himself a Socialist, the party was called National Socialist Workers, he only turned on them to increase his own power and to demonize Communism and caricaturize Jews who the socialist thinkers also were incredibly anti Semitic so it’s an added level of trying to outdo the sort of “reasoned” anti-semitism that came from the demonization of their culture and religion that was already engrained into Marxism. He hated Jews period and blamed them for his “struggle” all his life, but to weaponize that hatred there was no place left or right he wouldn’t go.

      just Wright What? What are you talking about NO! He hated organized religion! He blamed JEWS for allegedly raping his grandmother, he was ashamed to be part Jewish, yes obviously Germany was very anti-Semitic at the time including amongst the Marxists who also hated organized religion. Hitler recognized that he could win over people by weaponizing Christianity but ultimately he knew organized religion couldn’t be tolerated and wanted people to worship him, he talked and wrote about it and it’s a small percentage of Christian’s that blame Jews as a whole for Christ’s death. You have no idea what your talking about, please if you’re going to repeat far-left talking points at least try to understand them so you could possibly make a semi-logical argument.
