As a kid I listened to a short snippet of this song over and over as we had it recorded on a tape cassette and the first time I heard it I was in love and became totally obsessed by this music. Since then I was trying to find out what band or song it was. I only found out about the Rah Band many years later when I was older. Such a great memory of this absolutely amazing tune. It has a certain something truly magical and mysterious in it for me, the music, the melody, the vocal and the intergalactic operator voice as if it was coming from a distant future. It still sounds as good for me as when it first reached my ears. Unbelievably good timeless track from any point of view that will sound as fresh as when it was new in thousands years from now. Thank you Rah Band. Your music will never disappear or be forgotten!!!👍👍👍❤️

I used to work in a DIY store back in the nineties and this was one of the hundreds of songs they used to play on a continuous loop of songs. I remember hearing those R2 D2 type beeps at the beginning and was always intreaged to know what and who the song was by. Found out only a few years ago but I recommend listening to the entire album this was from in 1985.
I bought the 12” single of this in 1985 and have adored it ever since, and feel the same way about it as you.
May 2024 and I am still enjoying this song several decades since I first heard when I was schooling.
On first listen, you could dismiss it as a novelty song because of the intergalactic operator bits but underneath is a wonderful and rather sweet ballad. I have a lot of love for this song.

A story I'd like to share.
I'm a Russian girl, born fifteen years ago. Nowadays, music from 80's (both foreign and in native language) is very popular among elder people in Russia, though I haven't seen any lovers of RAH band.
Being honest, I met the songs of Richard Anthony Hewson and his team rather lately, in the previous year, but, let me say, the songs bewitched me. They are unique, with an unforgettable atmosphere of celestial spaces, which I love dearly too!
What I wish to say is huge thanks for the RAH band. Their music became very, very special to me. I hope one day it will be known by people from my country.

1985 - 1995 was such an amazing era
I was a kid when I first listened to this song in 1991.... The kind of Popping dance in the background in the original clip was dope a the time.
The futuristic ambiance, the intergalactic operator voice and the way the girl has been dropped by her husband made the clip a special space romantico story

I knew this music sinceI was a kid, but in the 2000's discovering MP3 vynils I faced the other incarnation of this band: Richard Hewson Orchestra. So good! "What Shall We Do" is a mastepiece.

An astonishingly well-crafted song. My tastes were not developed enough when I saw this on Top of the Pops as a kid. I can now appreciate the longing lyrics and the control of ‘Dizzy Lizzy’s’ range into the crescendo - it would have been so easy to bellow the chorus but I love that fact she keeps in check. The musical flourishes, harmony, tight funky rhythm and ever-so-compelling performance make this one a hidden gem of the era. So glad that the Rah Band continue to this day.
