Anyone else celebrating? Thanks Waves for listening to the community!
Kinda. They need to fix the whole WUP system. No other company charges for UPDATES! Waves is cool, but theyre pushing it...
I'm not celebrating just yet. They might start charging double lol. I'm phasing out my Waves plugins anyway.
I'm definitely happy, I can go grab that bundle I wanted to get now, but of course whenever they finalize everything to get the perpetual system back in order again. I still think the WUP system needs to be either dumped or revamped at least.
@@JulianFernandez right. If it was a new update with new sounds. Like a synth. Ok. I’ll pay. Butbitsbsame exact plug-in. How many times don’t have to rebuy. Vocal Rider ? Or R Vox. It’s same exact plug-in. Just now compatible with OS 12.02. Instead of OS 12.0. Ridiculous.
That's just ONE example of what WE ALL can do when WE ALL stick-to-gether!!!!
the backlash was savage! good job everybody 👏🏻
This is how it should be. Optional subscriptions, not forced
Thank God!
Thank you for the update
So hype we change things when we stick together
Thank God
Yeah 👍
Cool, remember no matter what you do knew will have obstacles, I'm glad they try to make it all work.
LETS GOOOO 🎚🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I don't know if it's great news or not yet. Waves bringing back licenses seems like mere damage control. It's likely they'll make licenses too expensive and eliminate sales to make their subscriptions more attractive, perhaps gradually over the next year to avoid negative reactions. We know their end goal and they can't be trusted IMO.
I'm not celebrating, cause they must now make the subscription plan a better deal
...so the perpetual plan when you're paying for upgrades must change to be a worst deal - expecting prices going up. I don't think we should be trusting them anymore.. the paying updates were a stupid thing already, - strike one - and now this crap?- strike 2. Make no mistakes, they'll do worst but slowly. I'm moving away from waves as soon as I need updates...so I'm going to start buying alternative products with better sound and better deals..like free perpetual upgrades.
Dope
Hi valentina, sorry to ask again this off-topic.
Just a quick question: do you use maschine mk3 directly into logic without the maschine plugin? If yes, how!? 😅
You can open and route Maschine MK3 in Logic Pro X
I know this doesn’t have nothing to do with the topic of the video, but how much were those panels on the back and where you got them?
THANK GOD 😂😂😂.
We rolled up on em with our pitch forks that'll teach em not to fuck around like that 😂 😂
If they add exclusive new plugins only to the Subscription thats OK going fwd
But the damage is already done!
Hola,Méndez.
Me encanta tu homestudio
I quit Waves anyway. I don't trust them anymore.
Glad they listened to the community. Solid business move or they probably would have lost a ton of cash.
Problem still is. That. Every year. I’m rebuying the same plug-in. For the same price. What other company does this? Not cool. I will look for replacements. As well don’t want to keep paying. For the same exact plug-in. For just OS compatibility. Plug in is same. Why keep paying. ????
true
You mean I back fired! CEO thought they were clever and got greedy. They lost the confidence of their loyal customers to be honest. I am not a fan anymore.
me neither
hardware here I come
that's another way to go about it.. something I'm really considering!
who cares, the damage is done and clinets run away fast
All they did is convince me to never again pay for their WUP. I still might or might not use my waves plugins, but once they're no longer supported, it's bye bye. I already have alternatives for their products.
that's it.. my thoughts exactly!
Thank god. It’s so stupid to take away the ability to update perpetual licensing.. like ?? No. That’s legit robbery
I am impressed with how quickly waves reacted. I am sure they went into crisis mode, and if they can make new and legacy users happy, they will gain a lot of trust and respect. I am glad to see we will end up with more options.
they're just going to soften us up for the next one. The legacy plan paying for updates for me is strike one, and this thing is strike 2. Now you see how they really think. So, by keeping the new subscription models, they must make them atractive how? - by raising the prices of individual plugins and/or their "updates" for the legacy stuff.
Fast or slowly, they'll do that. There's other brands, great alternatives, better products out there without this crappy mindset. Wave just lost me.
Even with perpetual. You are kinda indirectly subscribing. As you keep repaying. Just because of new Logic version. Or new Pro tools version. Or new Mac OS version. Ye.
yup.. that was already bad - strike one- and this was strike two..not giving a penny more to greedy creeps
I'm not celebrating, cause they must now make the subscription plan a better deal

You haven't gained a thing.
I don’t see how it’s any different then f you do the math it costs about the same per year to purchase their updates for the plugins you already own.
