  • What‘s up everybody? Welcome back to my channel!
    For a long time, the ugly sight of the bonnet bothered me. The nightmares are finally over! I bought the insulation pad over a year ago but couldn't attach it due to the weather. I took advantage of the good weather and attached it. I hope you enjoy it.
    Anough talk, enjoy watching!

    I think for people doing this on their own, which how I prefer to work, the best option would be to remove the hood / bonnet, and lay it on some blankets to protect the paintwork. That way you can trial fit it without glue. I'd use a heat resistant spray glue to tack the bottom or top depending on preference, then work my way along. The trouble with working with somweone else is that whilst you know exactly what you want to do, the other guy is just doing what they're told - which can be problematic when you've only one shot with a quick setting glue.

    I think the full pad is for the diesels. The Petrol modes had a smaller pad but it probably makes sense to put the big one on for the reasons you mentioned. My only concern would be that the temperature while running may get a little hot.

    • @KUNIQUE
      @KUNIQUE  3 года назад +1

      Thank you for sharing your information John! At the beginning, I was also a little skeptical, but I partly drove the car above 30 degrees Celsius and had no problems with overheating. I think the wind compensates the heat.

    I did exactly the same but fitted the smaller replacement MB genuine pad, I read about the heat buildup issue but also I read that it wasn’t a problem either, it will be interesting to see overtime how are you get on with this full pad and whether you feel there are noise reduction benefits.

    • @KUNIQUE
      @KUNIQUE  3 года назад +4

      I have to take a look! So far, I haven't had any problems with overheating. Not even in warmer weather conditions. And I can already say that the noise has definitely become less. It feels like the car is running much quieter.

    ❤Sehr gut gelungenes Video, besonders den Anfang finde ich passend dazu 😂 Das seht mir noch bevor. Kann ich statt Acetone auch Isopropanol verwenden? Weil das ist sanfter an Oberflächen. Als Kleber wurde mir handelsüblicher Sprühkleber jeglicher Art empfohlen. Jetzt, nach diesem Video, bin ich ratlos was ich nehmen soll? Meine Dämmmatte hab ich bei Mercedes direkt bekommen, gibt es aber nicht mehr für alle Modelle. Weiß auch nicht was nun Vorder oder Rückseite ist weil die genau gleich aussehen? Übrigens, sehr gutes Englisch👏und Liebe Grüße

    • @KUNIQUE
      @KUNIQUE  Год назад +1

      Hi Josinora, danke für dein Feedback! 😃
      Ich habe vieles benutzt, was ich gerade zur Hand hatte. Also nicht davon irritieren lassen. Isopropanol sollte zum reinigen ausreichend sein. Beim Sprühkleber würde ich darauf achten, dass der Hitzebeständig ist, da es schon mal ganz warm werden kann. Wäre ärgerlich, wenn sich die Matte/Kleber wegen der Hitze löst. Puuh, ich weiß nicht wie das Original aussieht, deswegen kann ich dir dazu schwer was sagen. Frag doch mal bei Benz nach? Bis dahin und liebe Grüße

    hahhah, funny intro! thanks for another great video. Plz share with us the part number or the link from where u purchased it.
    A little concern, won't the engine bay heat weaken the glue and make the hoodpad start sagging? I once changed the cloth of my CLK headliner since the other was quite dirty and that was the end of it, on sunny days it was always sagging, which was annoying for a car that I used to love soo much.

      @KUNIQUE  3 года назад +3

      Thanks Victor! 😃
      I shared the link of the pad and the glue in the description.
      The glue I have used is usually heat resistant (as per personal experience). There is no problem so far and it sticks perfectly to the hood. I don’t think the heat will weaken the glue. But I will keep an eye on it.
