- Who remembers our red aircraft? To celebrate the repainting of our fleet in our new white and red livery, the 11 day process of repainting a Virgin Australia aircraft can be seen in just two minutes!
I loved the 2016-2019 era of virgin Australia and when they were thriving and had the 777 and a330 man I wish I could go back in time
I love the old livery it has a bit more colour
The knew one looks like another airline althoug it changed to another airline with one name
Agreed, the old one was more unique.
I didn’t like the old one very much but that’s just my opinion
reeli? vat is reeli cul. INGRISH 101@@Lee247Jamaica
Aww man this was so beautiful to watch. I mean the virgin blue was a fantastic livery but VA's livery just feels more modern simpler and cleaner. I'd love to fly this airline one day while it still bares this livery
I loved the red, but I love the fact that you fly 737-800s on domestic runs a bit more.. I have wanted to visit Australia my whole life, maybe sometime in the next few years. That means I follow Virgin Australia's flights around on flight tracking apps, when I'm stuck in bed with back pain, or in my free time. I pretend to on on every flight wondering what great place to visit when we land. I love the white with red also. You might think I'm a 12-16 year old kid writing this, but in reality, I'll be 65 in July. I have had a long career in working with doctors and college degrees, but when the topic is flight we are all 12 year olds amazed at the miracle of flight. Be well Virgin Australia and employees, great success and happiness to my adopted airline and the beautiful country it represents. From Arizona in the US, Best Wishes, thanks for the video!
There are other interesting airlines in Australia if you want to follow them too Bobby. Of course most people have heard of Qantas but then there's its regional line Qantaslink. Qantas has its low cost airline Jetstar. Then there's Regional Express, known as Rex, there's a small regional airline called Air North that also has one international flight from Darwin to Dili in Timor-Leste and there are various other small local airlines. All worth a look.
@@rais1953 you mention air north but not alliance?? Ok lol..
Yes I forgot about Alliance. I haven't seen any reference to scheduled routes flown by Alliance in its own name though. They fly a lot of routes for other airlines plus mining flights as far as I know.
I believe a good paint job makes the plane fly better.
isnt it less air drag that makes it better?
Aerohk LOL
Aerohk it adds 200hp minimum
Aerohk lol
Actually it's been found that aerodynamic stability, drag, and maximum speed can be increased by painting flames on the side
Looked better in the original colour
virgin blue is a beautiful plane i love the old livery:)
I love this airline and I like this video it's cool😀
I LOVE "VIRGIN AUSTRALIA". It's the most caring airline company I have ever witnessed.I can't wait to fly to Australia with it again🇦🇺😜
the after Covid it went downhill well Covid does that not only virgin was effected that badly
I missed the old aircraft the last time I flew with it it was like sydeny to Melbourne when I moved to Melbourne I was from shanghai to sydeny to Melbourne
RIP virgin blue
The Virgin Australia livery looks very neat, but I prefer the Virgin Blue livery. :)

+Eamon Shark same
yuckkk virgin blue
Same
Looks brand new!
Who else thinks the paint melting is so satisfying? I've actually tried finding videos of just that.
Beautiful job... love the new paint scheme!
I flew from Melbourne back home to Adelaide. I cried the drive home because there is so much more to explore on this earth that when we die we haven’t explored every bit of the world
0:40 ... for those curious what "livery" means in the context of this video: "a special design and colour scheme used on the vehicles, aircraft, or products of a particular company."
I have a snap together plastic model of the red version. Love it and all things to do with aircraft, airports and airlines
Definitely remember the planes in their virgin•blue livery back in 2006... those were the days. Probably wishing the designs had a red belly to go with their white shell though...
THAT IS SO COOL FROM OLD TO NEW
Never seen paint stripped from an aircraft before. That was interesting.
By any chance could I have the name of the music?
www.musicbed.com/songs/louder/6795
@@treypohe4593 thanks for that music
ISSAGOGO no problem at all 👍
I like these newer liveries airlines are doing around Oceania. Older ones like the more square Qantas, red virgin and blue Air New Zealand all scream early 2000s to me. Black Air NZ, new sleek font for Qantas as well as modified tail designs along with of course this new Virgin livery all look gorgeous!
I liked it in some areas, it really depends on the aircraft. I hated the A320s until the new livery but I loved the 737s and I still love the Q300s in the Pacific wave
Well isn't that satisfyingly disgusting at 0:46! Still, love the video!
Trey Pohe yea it weird
They actually poured special acid to melt the paint of the 737 then paint that is why it is green
@@natalie2613 its called "formic acid" :D
I agree
This video is amazing!
I like the music and the beat cause it is cool and the plane getting repainting plus I'm a Australian
My favourite Livery!
amazing precision :D
When the paint went off I have goosebumps
Wish we could have kept Blue in the name....but nice work!!!!
found the music, "Louder" by Night Fever
www.musicbed.com/songs/louder/6795
I also work with 737-800 in maintenance, a fantastic machine the best in the world
Love virgin
I love you guys! And jeez this is also really satisfying
i missed the red plane i mean it was a couples years ago
Goodbye virgin blue, Hello virgin australia!
Amazing job guys/girls! Hope the airline comes out even stronger and eventually flies to Tokyo ( my home city ) So I can fly them because I just love the hospitality and the flight crew and cabin crew are amazing I flew them from Hong Kong to Sydney and it was amazing!
Really fascinating to see- thanks!!!
Wow!!!!!! Nice airline I can't wait to see my friends 😍
I still prefer the old red colour scheme.
+Geoffrey Hansen I call the old red colour scheme the shit colour scheme cause it looks shit. The new one is so much better.
Love the video, can't stop watching it! Favourite airline of all time!
Good airline love virgin Australia 🇦🇺
Should make all the rest red tbh, looks so much better
I like the new colors, very fresh, classy and clean
That was some hardcore paint stripper
Rip Virgin Blue: We will miss you. Hello Virgin Australia.
Yeah I miss Virgin blue
yeah, once in 2009 i wnt on one. i saw on about 2 months ago in melbourne
Rest In Peace Virgin Blue
Hello Virgin Australia
Lot of work ? Beautiful job ? We'll done fellas
[OFF-TOPIC] that soundtrack is nice!! =D
Virgin Australia - Was VH-VUE the last aircraft to be painted into the Virgin Australia Livery? Cause I know this video was put up to celebrate Virgin Australia having the entire fleet in the Virgin Australia Livery.
+Matt Lindsay It was VH-VUL that was the last aircraft to painted in the VA livery
VH-VUE In 2021 is now rex airlines
Awesome job.!!!
cool vid
Amazing!
Awesome video +Virgin Australia I love the new livery but also liked the old one. On another topic, 2 questions: was the A330 ordered after the name change (personally I think it was but I am not sure) and secondly is the changeover to the new livery complete?
Virgin blue ordered the A330 well before the name change and yes, this was the last aircraft wearing the DJ livery
+PoorPatrician thanks
I miss virgin austrillia
Simple and beautiful
Missed a spot!, i like your planes, but miss your megastores
Cool!
Whilst the new colour scheme is modern and sleek, it's too simple. Gone were the days you could spot an aircraft from afar and recognize its a Virgin Australia / Virgin Blue for its distinctive red fuselage.
Now, Virgin Australia blends in with 90% of other airlines with a white fuselage - normal and nothing special.
+Hoshi Kun Modern simplicity attracts economic attention, that's all I can say.
I can tell.
Hoshi Kun very true, also there were tv monitors in the seats. But now on the white ones, u have to rely on the shitty in-flight entertainment app
Hoshi Kun as with LATAM airways (again, similar problem), in which I wonder if an inverted navy blue would suit their planes better. Good point though.
A lot of airlines will have a livery that has a white/light grey base layer because they are reflective of heat which is important due to the temperature difference that a plane goes through during a flight
35 years ago a bean counter worked out that it cost one dollar extra in fuel to carry an extra pound of paint weight for 12 months.
Does this make you want to fly VA
nah mate malaysian all the way
PuddingSimulations you know how good their safety is. it's non existing
Sure does
Rivva I’m worried about another narcissistic pilot reenacting MH370 where he pulled the pin on the transponder without warning so I’d steer clear of Malaysian
Sweet Something - Night Fever
The new livery needed a bit more red and it would have been complete, bit of a shock to see all that red gone but still quite classy.
Is the Plane taking off from Townsville in Queensland? If so was the plane painted here?
Yes
VH-VUE
The plane VH-VUE (repaint) was in the flying colours hangar at Townsville, aircraft taking off was a normal in revenue service with VH-VOL
They should paint the whole of the engines red :)
YES
That would have looked much better.
They forgot to add some flame strikers. Makes it faster.
I’ve been flying with ever since I started flying
best airline in the world
Really cool :D
Cool
i flow on a BNE-CNS route in a 737 business class its amazing u should try it
Who is that woman holding the flag?? I like that art.
I’m going back past and down in a little Cook Road
Will you be trading the 737-800 for the new 737 max? If so will they be going to Canberra
Yes Virgin will get the 737Max, not sure if it will go to Canberra tho, I CBR will just get ATRs for the time beinv
Who likes the Virgin Blue or the Virgin Australia livery???Mine is the Virgin Blue
Virgin Blue all the way
i think it is good job i like it may i know what type paint stripper used because i see to remove paint so easy
How much does it take for a A380?
Mihai Virgin Australia do not operate a380's
The paint just melts off
Where can I get a diecast model of the new plane from
it was done in Townsville
I’m flying you guys brisbane-port vila in 9 days
It would be cool if you kept some the old livery
I like the new colors
i like virgin blue airlines
I think repainting costs much money for company. Because aircraft is not flying these 11 days, so it does not generate income, but company pays lease payments for aircraft non-stop.
+Roman Zerstoren They don't pay Lease payments for the aircraft.
Virgin Australia owns both the Aircraft and the Hangar it is being painted in. Yes, they are losing money in fares because the aircraft is not in service for 11 days, but they aren't losing money otherwise.
Красота!
nice
I remember some of the aircraft had red noses, why was this?
Hank The pilot swag
where an we find dis kinda of job in australia ?
it takes 9 days for Boeing to build the 737, it takes 11 days to paint it.
The Virgin logo has a drop shadow? Who got that gig, VistaPrint?
R.I.P Virgin Australia
What's the name of the music?
Ok,the music is "Louder" by Night Fever, thanks Dean Rodgers!
mihaySCS Do you have a link to the song, i cant seem to find it when i search for it.
Ross Harrison Link www.musicbed.com/songs/louder-instrumental/6794
when that paint falls off :O, whats the soundtrack?
I miss virgin blue why did you even change it
i miss virgin blue…
Im confused if this is a 737 800 or 700 or the camera angles
So that's what Aircraft Remover is for!
is this solution damaging fuselage? shortening it's strength?
How do I get involved in aircraft painting like that?
What about virgin blue head to queensland
