It was a great time. It was more tangible. Just like buying your latest CD from your favorite artist. The physical hunt, the search, and the human interaction. You just can't get that scrolling through your lonely T.V./ phone.
Exactly, everything feels so impersonal now! I think that a lot of people are starting to appreciate what used to be, hopefully there's a positive shift 😔
I remember going to blockbuster every Saturday night as a kid, I would always rent out the same 2 dragon ball z vhs tapes each week frieza saga 2.10 eleventh hour and 2.11 fall of a tyrant then mcdonalds on the way home that was always the ritual if they made a comeback despite all the netflix and Disney streaming services I would sign up and visit weekly.
Mate - this brought me back to the best years of my life! Bring back blockbuster !!! I think the anticipation of waiting and hoping for the dvd to be in was so much fun - but zing blockbuster idea is great!!! Thanks for the video mate 🎉🎉🎉
How good was that era! It would be amazing if they did in some way shape or form. Having instant access to everything is nice but the excitement isn't there!
Hey mate, fun vid! We had no Blockbuster where we lived growing up. It was an independent store that eventually became a Video Ezy. There were a few cool ones I bisited around the place which seemed to be going well but all bit the dust recently. One in Geelong, one on the Gold Coast and one on Hamilton Island. All gone now. I thought the Hamilton Island one would have been viable for sure being part lolly shop. On my second time there I was really looking forward to visiting again with my kids via golf cart but we drove up and...Gone. I'm now buying up $1 and $2 dvds from the op shops. Almost exclusively cool action flicks I want to watch with my kids when they get a bit older. It's not the same but it's the closest I'll get I think. And I don't have to worry about returning them...Ever. 😂 Keep up the great work 😁👍
Aw yeah Video Ezy, Civic Video and United Video were the other ones that I remember growing up. Civic Video was the one in my hometown but then moved and Blockbuster became the go to! As you could see in the video I've started collecting VHS tapes of movies I loved (more for decorative purposes though) 😅Will be great when you can share them with your kids 😄
@@unboxingthepast Yeah I really like the old clamshell vhs cases but the ones I find are always terrible movies or too expensive. I'd be happy with just tge cases!
Start making more VCR players not just off eBay for 50 dollars everything proven people are buying them offline now days everything proven ebay being done
My idea of heaven is being able to peruse through a Blockbuster store whenever I wish!

You nailed it! I was gonna comment but you said EXACTLY what I would have. Tangible, the hunt, interaction.... The good old days
I hope they sale international movies, tv shows, cartoons and more that will be cool if blockbuster sales dvds around the world.
They need human interaction on a customized video store
No more late fees at all they need to have membership cards and gift cards
I 100% miss video rental stores!!!

That's so cool! DBZ just hit differently back then. And yeah me too, you can't get the same experience with streaming 😔
I miss the store I hope it comeback as a dvd store for purchase

Also it will have dvds
to come back Im waiting for opening all stores
Some dvd locations will become video purchase stores
If they actually come back as a streaming service, then they have a really dumb board meeting team.
