That's the classic peart ride pattern! Mystified me for ages when I first learned it too, then I started hearing it everywhere. It's just a bunch of paradiddles stuck together with an accent on the backbeat (2 and 4) If memory serves, the main pattern is roughly rlrr Lrrl where that second left is accented. But to get good at that, drill paradiddles and then see what you can do with them on the kit with right hand on cymbal and left on snare. It'll make more sense after some time!
@@rubenduartejr.7168 Well, it's up to personal taste (and how your ride sounds!) so nothing wrong either way, but if you watch Neil playing it or listen to the isolated version, he plays the ride bell in that section fairly near the tip of the stick, so it's a thinner bell sound than normal!
Neal was Smiling down on You, One thing about Neal is that he always wanted to see what other talent was out there and You just showed him that you can play his stuff, Great Job made him PROUD
OMG! How much i am left speechless by your faultless technical prowess ! You probably nail it quite a bit better than everybody else on Y T ... Kudos !
I'm so impressed. You're really relaxed when you play and you don't break your stride at all, very cool. Accuracy and finesse. I have learned from you the complicated fills that I haven't been able to figure out on my own. Thanks.
Other than myself, you're the only asian i know that play rush. I followed Neil for 38 years n still playing drums 4 decades straight. Keep going girl, you're brilliant!!!
I left a comment three months ago. Just came back to give this another listen. This is extremely difficult to cover and it is fun to watch you nail the most intricate parts. Keep at it!
Wow!!! Certainly a very ambitious song to cover and you played it super well!!! You made it look effortless and easy which I know it is not!!! Spectacular job! Happy Drumming!!!
This is awesome! I have wanted a drum kit all my life and finally at 58 I bought my first kit a few weeks ago. Waiting on it to arrive at the door was like being 10 again on Christmas eve night waiting for Christmas morning. I don't know how to play but it sure is a lot of fun trying. I don't know how many times I've watched your video but each time I do it inspires me to go practice and hopefully one day I will be able to cover this classic half as good as you. Thanks!
CONGRATULATIONS! Very happy for you that you finally got your first kit 🙂 grab a couple lessons if you can to make sure you're on the right track and I'm sure you'll be well on your way to some fun grooving in no time!
wow that was amazing.......i've been a Rush fan since the mid seventies first 2X i saw them was back to back nights at the Paladiun in NYC ut that was a spot on Subdivisions cover .......you go girl.......i have a drum stick from Neil which i would gladly give you if you'd like
You make it seem so effortless. Everybody online does "Subdivisions." How about trying "The Weapon" from the same album? I would think that would be a little more challenging.
@@prakashxavier appreciate it buddy! Yeah, I started this channel just to force myself to listen to details in songs and learn new ideas when playing. Hope you find some cool new music through it too!
@@stalj Thanks Christal. Hope to catch you in at a gig someday. I watched Michelle pohs video on FB recently and thats how I got to know u haha. Played drums(a long time ago) and did some video work with Michelle. Cheers
That was VERY impressive. You look great. I have a drum set in my living room and can play this song pretty well, but I just learned a couple nifty shortcuts by watching you. Excellent.
@@stalj How about Witch Hunt, the cowbell timing in this tune is simple but off the chart difficult . . . . . for me to get right anyway Stay awesome, you're a great teacher-ist of time :)
Just realized I play from @1:01 - @1:07 different/ wrong . . . .still sounds the same I am just crossing over with the high hat and you're doing it single handed!
With that quality of drumming, who needs better video quality? How about 'Keep the fire burning' by REO Speedwagon? Or even 'Grey Street' by Dave Matthews Band Cheers from Tucson, Arizona!
How to you play the part at 2:06 I just don’t get it?

She is totally relaxed and one with the drum , like Neil she rarely changes facial expressions . I enjoyed this.
