    Wow...good job...I have 71 SG Deluxe all original...and neck is not cracked which is rare for those guitars. It could use new frets, but I prefer the beat up look...

      @@AldoSpadaroOfficial My Father Joseph Spadaro Sr. is 100 years old now... his dad came over from Sicily though Elis Island. Giuseppe & his wife Grace Died before my dad was an adult. He was raised by his Italian grandma with 4 siblings... All my guitar's are shiny & red, while I miss my SG, I have a Les Paul, Tele, Kramer and others... It was my joy to see my daughter, a lawyer now still plays and sings, She now owns my Ovation 12S, SG and a few others... I was a custom painter in the '80s I learned a lot as it went from wine red to black and so the SG has a fine candy apple finish now... Here is a taste of some Spadaro made music... ruclips.net/video/BAubArBIvv8/видео.html

    He needed to grain fill those open pores and it would have saved a little work with the level sanding thats why he had the problems with the orange peel but nothing but respect for his work. nice work gary.

    I'm not a fan of the jumbo jumbo frets on a vintage instrument but good lord everything else turned out excellent. I 100% love my SG. (2002 Natural Burst Standard)

    Very nice, with all this work I would’ve definitely have gave great consideration on installing an ebony board since you were pulling the old one anyhow. Although I can also see that you were trying to leave it as original as possible as well 🤙

    I've owned at least a dozen SGs, and on every one the controls cavity was routed out from the back, not the front. What model did they rout from the front?

    • @joecooper7803
      @joecooper7803 2 года назад +1

      Late 70-mid-72 deluxe
      They did make a few that were rear routed though I got one 👍

    Hmm, I'm a bit of a newbie. What are the advantages of jumbo frets? Do they wear out slower? Does playing exactly in tune get easier? Why do players WANT these bullet proof walls between the ebony?
    Ever played a fretless guitar? This was a chance. You absolutely hear the difference between a metal fret, and a piece of wood glued into all fret slots. Ever tried hard wood frets? That is an obvious alternative to these pretty standard metal frets. Why would you want a guitar that sounds like all the others? I don't get that. Some songs are better off fretless. Some music is great on wood frets. Why don't I see such things during every gig? Am I the only one asking such questions and converting my guitars?!
    Did you consider adding a zero fret? Open strings sound different without a zero fret, don't they? I hear plastic. Or bone. Why don't ALL guitars have a zero fret? Is there a catch?

      Bending becomes more easy and weird enough, the slightly bigger frets feel softer and comfortable to the fingers. gr,

      Hi man, no the yellow one kind of ended there. It's body had a lot of punk-era damage. But I gave to Gary, the luthier. He might make something cool out of it.

    i've never seen an SG with Les Paul pickguard

    • @AldoSpadaroOfficial
      @AldoSpadaroOfficial  3 года назад +1

      Jep! These deluxes are weird in a way. Control cavity on the front, extra Les Paul pickguard. The latter is unique for the SG deluxe as it also covers a bit of body between the Pu's.

      @@AldoSpadaroOfficial There was also the SG PRO at the same period, same overall design but with Gibson embossed P90's pickups, dot markers.

      @@lazybrollers6367 Jep, I guess all the SG's from 72' had the emossed logo ones. I've got one left here to go in the SG at some point but the hunt for an original embossed pickup is a costly one...
