- Gibson Les Paul's have come in many distinct flavors, from their original Goldtop stylings through Juniors, Specials, Customs, Deluxes, and more. As one of the most remade and reissued guitars to ever exist, there are many versions of the vintage classic and just as many modern recreations. Let's take a look at some prime examples of Les Pauls, starting at the beginning. Find them all on Reverb: bit.ly/3AdnQkE

The Gibson Les Paul Classic will always be my favorite.
The guitar that set the tone of rock and roll. Fantastic video... congrats.
I've played a ton of Les Pauls over the years of varying rankings, but something about the Studio just hits the spot for me. nice and simple. I regret selling the one I bought back in the early naughts.
I love Les Pauls. That's the definitive rock 'n roll guitar for me. Still have and play my '92 LP Studio today. I had no idea it would have any greater meaning or value when I bought it 30 years ago. I can testify to the "good wood era" claim though. It's been through the worst of times and falls over the years. It never cracked or broke and still plays great. I'll never sell it but I want a 60's Standard Bourbon Burst real bad. Always wanted a Standard and that one does it for me. One of these days.
Awesome history lesson. 🎸❤️
I own 5 different models and I love them all!
This is the best easy to understand straightforward expose' of the Les Paul that I have seen yet 😎thanks
My Best Friend and Brother Willy gave me my first traditional pro v and I love it!!!!! Cant go wrong with Les Paul ever any version of em'!
Couple of others I'd like to see here:
- Les Paul Studio Baritone (early to mid 2000s /2011-12, very limited run and could be a future collector's edition)
- Les Paul BFG (late 2000s: combination of different pickup configuration and construction not seen as a 'standard' Gibson model)
- Les Paul Ultima (late 2000s I think: higher grade than a Supreme, Custom Shop model without compromise)
Still play my ‘94 LP Classic Premium Plus in rare Cinnamon Burst. Modded with Seth Lover pickups, ‘50’s wiring, and Sperzel locking tuners.
Also the somewhat recent custom shop les Paul special double cut figured top. Which is a mouthful but is a double cut les paul special shape from the early 60s but with stop tail/Abr -1 and a flat flame maple top and binding. They are pretty awesome as well
Thank you reverb for taking all of that crowdsourced data from all those sales and giving us a historic look inside gibson les paul!
Les Paul Deluxes are my favorites. I remember when they were around a thousand bucks on the used market. Guess that means I'm getting old.
quality content! i apreciate it, thanks for sharing
i wish this "mini-documentary" lasts 2 hours. lol
PS: i have a late '79 Gibson LP Standard, a Late '96 Gibson Studio and a mid '86 Gibson EDS-1275, all great guitars!
Brian Jones from the Rolling Stones had a nice triple pick up black 57 LP👍
Nice! What about Traditionals? 2013-2019 standards?
Well done!
My first-love guitar
I've had my '69 Gold top since '73
i was looking for a little more detail about the models...i have a 2010 LP small neck, binding, in wine red..push pull volume knobs, satin back...cant find what model it is
Nice, but no mention of the LP Artisan?
I think the TV yellow was used instead of white guitars because on B&W televisions the white reflected to much light from the spotlights under-exposing the rest or over-exposing the white. Yellow looked still more or less as white without causing exposure problems
Okay, you've made a Fender strat video, now a Gibson Les Paul video. We need Fender Precision/Jazz video too! There are deep talkers (bass players) too!!!!
The Gibson Les Paul is the Shawshank Redemption of guitars ; Failed at the box office, only to win the hearts of the world later, and to be one of the very best...
"Price of a moderately sized house"
That would mean multiple-millions in Toronto or BC
bookmarked maybe, but probably meant to say "bookmatched". :-)
hottes, they are like ;our early Harley Davidson motorcycle's ,the sound of thunder, my 1974 2oth anniversary with a jimmy page set up like his 1 and 2 put together, a never sell
Someone said Les Paul's started with Epiphone ?
🤔Forgot to mention the Les Paul "Lite"
which first came out in the 80's.
Nothing came close to the ‘1968 black beauty I owned for 20 years. I regrettably sold it in 2005. One of the dumbest things I’ve ever done. 😢. Considering I paid $350.00 for it from a friend back in 1985. That guitar played like creamy melting butter.
They also made the deluxes in 1976.
They did indeed but not too many around anymore.
@@gav6808 True@Gav I am lucky I have a 1976 Deluxe tobacco sunburst left handed even more rare.
You skipped the les Paul high performance series
Les Paul Standards returned again in 1976, not 1974.
P90s and covered pickups look like schitt. The pickguard is schitt, as well.
The Burst is the sexiest guitar in existence, but it must have zebras and no pickguard.
i do like RUclips algorithms sometimes, like this time.
Beautiful sound But so heavy still a great guitar.
It's LIMED MAHOGANY, not LIMITED MAHOGANY...
The price of a moderate size house.....lol
Not sure there's enough bots in the comments section...
"2-piece bookmarked top".
Una guia muy probre, querer abarcar todos los periodos de manera rápida es un desperdicio.
