something i love about master of puppets (for me, at least) is how my favorite song constantly switches, really just shows how absolutely god tier this album is
All the songs here are 10/10 8. Tttsnb: what a song and what a solo, but now that I heard it so much times is at the moment the “worst” 7. Leper Messiah: this and the previous were swapped, but now that I learnt this one, I think it’s just better. 6. Battery: it’s a masterpiece, but for me it’s not at the level of the next 5 songs. 5. Master Of Puppets: WHAT A SONG. Ok, verses are fun but nothing too special, but when it changes and go to slow section… the a comeback to heavy ass slow Pré solo, mega solo, and then one of the best metal riffs. Masterpiece. 4. Sanitarium: this, disposable heroes and damage inc are so tight… they can switch every moment. This song is beautiful and 4th place is not right, but this is it. 3. Damage, Inc: this was 2nd, they I learnt how to play disposable heroes. What a intro (cliff burton was a genius), what a intro riff, WHAT A BRIDGE, and what a solo! What a closer track! 2. Disposable Heroes: another incredible song, full of modulations but not strange. Fact: this, damage and battery are the hardest songs to play on master, but also by Metallica because of the gallops riffs (especially battery) 1. Orion: this is easily my favourite song of all time. It’s a masterpiece of writing, hitting B minor and major in the same riff… and then that middle section, that includes a three guitar harmony, a beautiful solo by James and THE bass solo.
As much as I love disposable heroes, it went from an underrated track to an overrated track, it is deffinetly NOT better than a song like master of puppets, one or creeping death
My list to my second favourite Metallica album: 8) Leper Messiah 10/10 (it's still really good) 7) Damage Inc 10/10 6) The Thing That Should Not Be 10/10 5) Orion 10/10 4) Welcome Home (Sanituarium) 10/10 3) Master Of Puppets 10/10 2) Battery 10/10 1) Disposable Heroes 10/10 (after a while, this ended up becoming my favourite song on the album)
My list: 8. Master of puppets 7. Things that should not be 6. Damage inc. 5. Battery 4. Leper messiah 3. Welcome home 2. Orion 1. Disposable heroes 0. Hangar 18
My favorite album of all time. A perfect album with no filler tracks. If I could listen to just one album for the rest of my life, it would be this one. But ranking the songs from worst to best? It's definitely a difficult task especially if you love every songs on the album. But I'll try my best. 8. The Thing That Should Not Be (I still love this song more than the majority of people. But something has to be in last and unfortunately it's this song). 7. Damage Inc. 6. Disposable Heroes (the most overrated track on the album. Many people say it's their best song in their discography. It's great yes but I don't see it as one of the very best. And I honestly feel bad for putting this song that low. But I'm just not into it as much as the other people) 5. Welcome Home (Sanitarium) 4. Leper Messiah (the most underrated track on the album. It's catchy and has some great parts) 3. Orion (I ain't a huge fan of instrumental songs but this one is definitely my favorite) 2. Battery (love the intro and the bridge) 1. Master of Puppets (absolute perfection) Oh God that was so difficult to make. Everything from 7th to 1st could change. Every song in this album is a 10/10. Hence why it's a perfect album. Oh. And we can all dedicate this album to Cliff Burton. Gone too soon. Many songs after Master of Puppets could've been improved had Cliff Burton not died. He was by far the best bass guitarist. It's a shame Metallica never found one better.
I wouldn't say Disposable Heroes is overrated nor underrated. It's just loved by the fans the way it should be plus only a few ppl say it is the best in comparison with fans saying FTB is their best song. I can see why and I kind not of agree with them but not at all.
Fade to Black isn't my favorite on Ride The Lightning. My favorite would be the title track. It has the best solo of any Metallica song. My 3 favorites on Ride The Lightning are the title track, Trapped Under Ice and Creeping Death.
@@williamfernetducharme Interesting. Creeping Death, Escape and Trapped Under Ice are my favorites from RTL but every song is just amazing in the album. You can't really say there are bad songs until 1991 besides 1 or 2 tracks.
@@vinceyrankings The first bad Metallica song is on Load. That song is Cure. We can all agree that it's a bad song. There's nothing bad from Kill 'Em All to the Black Album. My least favorite song from this era would be Pulling Teeth. Because it's a bass only song. But it's not a bad song.
8: Leper Messiah 8.2/10 This is definitely the heaviest song Metallica ever made, hands down. I love this song but i like the others too much to say anything else is worse. Great Metalcore style bridge though but the song doesn’t really end well. 7: Orion 8.5/10 Great epic instrumental track overall, I’m in a love affair with that riff at 2:22 that they come back to in the outro. I think it needed more between the interlude and outro. #6: Welcome Home (Sanitarium) 9.4/10 This one built from Fade To Black in terms of technicality and atmosphere (I still prefer FTB). Contains probably the fastest Metallica downpicking section ever. #5: Disposable Heroes 9.6/10 This is one of the songs that show that Metallica are way ahead of other thrash bands. Who else plays at such a speed for 8 minutes straight with no slow parts in the middle. #4: Damage Inc 9.7/10 Another extreme thrash song just like Fight Fire With Fire. The riffs are all great, especially the bridge. #3: The Thing That Should Not Be 9.8/10 Metallica does not need to be fast to be good, neither do they need to be in standard tuning. This one has a really dark atmosphere to it. Love every riff in this song. The best part is when it fades out with probably the heaviest riff of the song. One of the heaviest for sure but sounds soft compared to Leper Messiah. #2: Battery 10/10 If Fight Fire With Fire was extreme thrash, then this song is technical thrash. This is a thrash staple, simple as that. Love the Metalcore riff in the middle as well. #1: Master of Puppets 10/10 Here, we have probably the best Metallica title track. Structurally one of their most complex for sure. Every riff is so great and I don’t need to explain why. Metallica really set the scene for Metalcore with this album and …And Justice For All.
Disposable Heroes is an absolutely fantastic song, but to me it's always felt a little cluttered or choppy compared to similarly structured songs like Master of Puppets, Ride the Lightning, or Creeping Death. it's like they tried to cram too much into one song my ranking would be: 8. Leper Messiah 7. Welcome Home (Sanitarium) 6. Disposable Heroes 5. Orion 4. The Thing That Should Not Be 3. Battery 2. Master of Puppets 1. Damage, Inc. The Thing That Should Not Be has always seemed super underrated to me... the main groove and closing riff are just absolutely vile (in a good way LOL), and the solo is INSANE, albeit way too short. and Damage, Inc...... what a perfect way to end an album. crazy performance by the entire band, nothing compares
My list: 8: Battery 7: Leper Messiah 6: The Thing That Should Not Be 5: Orion 4: Welcome Home (Sanatarium) 3: Master of Puppets 2: Disposable Heroes 1: Damage Inc (my new favorite Metallica song. Best Metallica solo ever)
@@brownbreadinc127 all the songs are in my top 40 Metallica songs. Battery is a 8.5/10. Love the acoustic intro and everything about it. But the other songs I like more.
Ahhh memories of rewinding all then golden classics greek tv metal shows consider lars playing simple and boring but the bass and guitars matched their musical legacy. The tracklist is as impressive as ride the lightning with every song you press play on the record you hear acoustic intro on both albums as song number one and the second title track and goes on and on
