There’s s lots of clever people who would be clamouring to be giving you advice, but do you know it’s great finding out yourself. Although with great frustration, it feels even better when you’ve solved it yourself. renovations are all about adapt and amend. When it’s all plastered you’ll never even know if it was right or wrong, you got there Lewis. fantastic! I know I’ve got the tea-shirt its called , It wont beat me, 😆😆😆😆👍👍❤️❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧keep smiling
You could do the edges of the window niche in the shape like a portal, little bit wider than the window, just like a painting frame looks, to be considered int he next roof window. I have made the portal with the bottom side totally vertical, not perpendicular to the neighbor's sides, it is brighter and easier to come closer to the window.
When we put in a gid skylight which did not open, we angled the plaster walls away from perpendicular to create a wider ceiling opening. This allowed from greater light intrusion into the room. This required extra framing, not a big deal to do. I loved the light from that skylight and I think you will too.
If you’re going to leave the board up for a while before plastering it may be wise to paint with PVA. I have no idea why but three plasterers have told me this so I assume it is true.
Fabricating and duplicating with cardboard is far from the worst method... many industries template with cardboard and or foam board when dealing with flat sided geometric shapes. Carry on
i like your solution with the cardboard. And as long it works, it is not a stupid idea!

Well done Lewis, looks great, when plastered will look even better.
Looks good to me, I’d be very happy👍

You've come so far... I hope you're both very proud of your incredible accomplishments.
Best wishes from Canada.
Me thinks that you must be a master mathematician to do this project! Well done and love to see the progression on your home renovation.
Well done Lewis that was a difficult window to do.
Nice Job On The Window looks great.

I wonder if it's actually more interesting to work it out as you go, rather than knowing everything and being in robot mode 🤔😊
I bet your math's and geometry have improved over the course of the renovation.

Drawing on cardboard is sketchy.
first
I unsubscribed after watching episodes of watching paint dry 🥱
Yeah, well.... that's a GOOD thing.....for the rest of us.....!!
.... au revoir....
How unnecessarily rude.
