It's gonna be a bit to get used to the higher pitched voice. But Oml I love this voiceover he has lowercase sass now instead of Uppercase Sass. He also sounds more emotional in most of the dialogue. He is also very cheery. He also has audacity towards the Academia XD

Im genuenly curious because all my favourite lines where Tighnari talks about his passions or the desert line sound like a flat statement.
Its so painful to liston to my favourite character sound dead like this.

The "lock me up? I dare them." line is actually lowkey threatening. I genuinely like his new voice better, there's the right amount of soft-spoken passive aggressiveness there :D

Zachary did a great job in my opinion. I quickly got used to his voice and really enjoy it now. All I need is Hoyo to give me Tighnari now.

His new va sounds like they tried to make tighnari kid friendly which I was worried about because I did like his old one but in do time I'll get to like the new va like how when I got introduced to tighnari's old va. I love genshin impact and it's characters being Xiao, Itto, Goro, Candace, Tighnari, Cyno, and Altheim if I spelled his name wrong I apologize

I love the vibe is gives off. It's a different form of sass. I also like how much less snooty he sounds now. it's more "I'm willing to help!" but also he's done with everyone's crap

@@mrminecraftcubeable I am with you. Idk where these people who only listened to the few lines here and say he has sass, audacity and sarcasm. If anything he sounds like a nerd in the academiya and still is learning there, and not someone who went about their own way to start being a teacher and researcher to the forest rangers and a confident leader. Zachary is an alright choice considering the time they were given to record, and some of the lines definitely feels rushed. An example of one of the most iconic lines is the "when it snows", and I personally feel like he delivered that line..... kinda flat....
It is very understandable that many got used to the Tighnari's Old VA whom we shall no longer name, but to be fair to Zachary's take on Tighnari its very much fine we will come to love it sooner or later.
The New VA doesn't need to be a replica of the Old VA but rather give his own take on Tighnari.
The New voice starts to grow on me.
It will be better in the future.
Plus, Hoyoverse has made changes to voice lines after they’re released (ex: Barbara and Ayato). Considering there was a bit of a time crunch while he was recording this, I think he did a pretty good job. Although, it does seem like his voice isn’t consistent throughout. Sometimes, his voice sounds like Mika (high and a bit scratchy) and sometimes it sounds lower and clearer (which I prefer tbh. It fits Tighnari’s character more).

Is it just me or does the voiceline at 5:36 sound like a whole different voice compared to everything else? Tbh i like how the voice is done in this one a lot more, it doesnt sound like Mika and suits Tighnari more :’)

Honestly, most of the dialogue after that sounds a little different to the first several. I think it just developed that way after some time of recording.
He sounds so much warmer, kinder, and smarter now! I like this a lot better. I feel like it really fits.
I do like the nerdier take on his voice which makes sense given his story. That said, he’s definitely not a Mika clone like everyone was saying and he does maintain a little bit of that famous sass. It’ll take some getting used to but first impressions are good for me

It's not BLATANT sassiness, but it is as someone else mentioned, lowercase sass. Minute sarcasm and general being done with everyone's shit whilst also keeping up beat as he can and sounding like he wants to help.
There's is no one way to portray sarcasm or a little sass, in this case its probably just a little more scaled down than you're used to, as if he's just making passing comments under his breath that you may not notice as he doesnt have a cruel or mean tone about it, he sounds fed up haha.

It'll definitely take some time to get used to, but I'm not complaining! This is a good start to change. Though I gotta say, the way he delivered his voice at "About Cyno: Good Question" definitely suits Tighnari a bit more. At least in my opinion, I liked that part. Good Luck to the new VA tho! He's doing great so far :DD

Yeah, it's a little confusing that he seems to have two different voices between the lines. The two Cyno lines have completely different inflections. I love how he sounds when he has the deeper voice, but I can't stand the higher pitched nasal-y voice he puts on.
I came for the iconic line now old tighnari delivery is more brute while the new one sounds more dissapointed i love it(and i actually like hes sounds more tired of that makes sense and he has the same sass as albedo has except hes more direct)
Honestly love the delivery on the iconic "What are they gonna do? Lock me up? I dare them." It feels more sarcastic than sassy and omg i love it
I really like this va for tighnari, all voice lines are great but the line "what are they gonna do? Lock me up? I dare them" doesn't have the right vibe for me but that's just because the old va did that line so well

Tip for anyone who need to get used to his voice is that: uhh i listened his story quest and archon quest lines of tighnari and it really helped me get used to it and u can watch new 3.6 story quest and archon quest tighnari involved theres videos and it helps!
Thanks for the advice, Im trying to cope with how emotionless he is now, really mihoyo had to ruin my favourite comfort character. He sounds so joyless now I cant take it.

Which is quite i like!! My friends and family tell me that i do tend to differ in my tones depending on mood and vibe which is quite natural and relatable lmao

I really enjoyed Zachary's work in KH3 as Hayner. Im glad they were able to replace his lines in such a short notice. Itll take a bit for everyone to get used to it. And zachary will also get into his role more as time goes by. Which is why I believe why he went from nasally to more relaxed. He just has to find the spot. ❤❤🎉🎉
something about how he says “prepare for the nightmare of a lifetime” in his about Cyno line scratches my brain just right. I can’t explain it but I love replaying it

It's going to take a while for me to get used to, since I really liked the sassiness he had in his old voice but the current one sounds more- softer. But I'm glad they have changed the VA pretty quickly. Even if he doesn't sound as sassy as before, I kinda like this voice too. It's kinda calming, and I could listen to this while falling asleep. I hope Zachary is getting a lot of support as the new VA of my favorite Dendro fox, Tighnari! The character deserves so much more, and the new VA as well for voicing him for us in a short period of time.

New ENG tighnari sounds like a 16 year old rather than a guy in his mid 20s. I’m glad it’s been changed but CN tighnari has grown on me
I did love the prior VA's portrayal (hate the VA himself) and have dearly loved Tighnari. I was an initial skeptic, but I love how fresh and spunky and cute Zachary Gordon portrays Tighnari. The old T felt extra snarky (own charm), but this one still sounds bright, down-to-earth, and more approachable and openly caring. And hoo boy 5:36 sounds really wonderful, too. Can't wait to see Zachary grow in this role.

I am devastated. This voice lost everything I loved about Tighnari. It has no emotion, any enthusiasm from his voice is gone. He used to be excited and happy when he talk about his passions, like his resting spot or how we're gonna go and gather samples and when you listend to his desert line you could HEAR how uncomfortable he is. Now it's all a flat statement.
The new voice makes Tighnari sound insecure and unsure of himself. When he is supposed to be a responsible older brother or a mature mentor character with calm confidence and a good amount of teasing and snark. Now he sounds like an imature child next to Cyno or his other friends and you would say that he is Collei's little buddy instead of her teacher.
I can't listen to this soulless imitation without bursting into tears. It pains me to hear it and Im unable to play him because of it. This isn't Tighnari.
I feel the same tbh but the old was a horribale person but one of the best va's he was my 2 fav and almost pulled for tighnari just bc of his personality and voice...
@@Vickyshoka I agree, eliot is a horrible human being and Im glad he's gone but it was his voice that made me like Tighnari and I was prepared for some quality drop in the voice but any of Tighnaris personality is gone in the new voice.
I know hoyo could have chosen someone better or at least direct this va to express more personality. I hope they'll re-record the lines in the near future.

@@eath2606 I understand where you're coming from. Tbh I also prefer his old voice but things have to be done. I feel like Zach just needs more time getting used to voicing him. After all, they did the recordings within just two months. Even if the team did everything they can in that time, it's still expected to get half-baked results. They 'can' extend the timeline, however I feel like it's out of their team's control especially they need to be on track content-wise. Couple that with the pressure of the fanbase's expectations, then we'll get the full picture.
But yeah, I do hope they record it sometime in the future.
edit: yes im aware that Oz's CN ew VA got longer time to record. Idk how and why, but what I said's just my assumption. Do correct me if im wrong thi.
@@rjj5915 I guess the reason Oz's voice swap lasted longer than Tighnari's its cuz it had a bigger negative impact this time, so the team was forced to rush it.
Imo Tighnari's new voice sounds very good to me, obviously I also feel more used to hearing the old one, but given the circumstances, the best thing will be to learn to appreciate the new one.

Yall haters need to chill, the new voice actor is supposed to be a replacement for the character, not an exact damn replica. The Uppercase sass was the old VA's *take* on the character. Doesn't mean it's canon lore. Plus I can only imagine how some people would react if their voices *were* similar, too easy to remember all of the terrible things that were done, when the whole point of the recast is that we're trying to separate Tighnari from those atrocities. I do understand being uncomfy cuz it's not what you're used to, but that's kinda exactly the point.
That's stupid, why let a pedo ruin your charater, they did the new va dirty by directing him like mika 2, now people are never gonna move on from the old one because it's such a downgrade

You know what, Zachary Gordon actually has a pretty good voice for Tighnari. You can hear it in some of the voicelines with a deeper tone. It'd be nice if they gave him a chance to rerecord some of the higher pitched voicelines once he's gotten a hang of the character voice....seems unlikely though

It’s only been a few days since his new voicelines are out but I’m already obsessed with it. You have no idea how many times I replayed his voicelines in the game. I haven’t fully ascended him so I haven’t heard some of his voicelines yet which is why I came here, to listen and obsess over his new voicelines.
I was betting on Austin Tindle to voice Tighnari... but it's nice to hear Greg Heffly in a foreign-made video game.
I honestly really love his new voice, I don't know why people are complaining. I think Zachary makes him sound kinder, but he still has some of his sass too!! He sounds younger and more nerdy which I also like. Overall I think the new voice actor did a great job!!
With how much he knows, honestly the more nerdier tone is not bad at all! This voice really suits him, yes maybe in a different way than before, but it really does fit him
Some lines are fine but a lot of them sound like a flat statement. Like the desert line, you could hear how uncomfortable he is or there is no joy what so ever when he talks about his samples.
I hate that he sounds so passionless I really hope they re-record some lines.

I don't see how that ruins the character when the old VA was _literally_ a predator. A character's voice actor being a _disgusting person_ can ruin that character for many people.

@@mitollea and plus, Tighnari is not the same case like with Minnie and Mickey Mouse. With Minnie/Mickey, their voice are THE personality. While Tighnari is pretty much up to your interpretation and how you thought his voice might sound like.

It will take a long time for me to get used to it. Some lines, I actually prefer with Zachary as the VA. Some, as much as I hate that human trashcan, I still prefer the old VA. That doesn't mean I'm not super happy about the replacement. I just hope they allow Zachary to re-record a few lines because they feel rushed and it seems Zachary fell out of his "Tighnari voice" a few times ("One with the forest", for example).

I don’t know if it’s just me but this feels less like someone voicing a character and more like someone actually making an off handed remark or awkward rambling (it’s a complement!). It’s got a more natural vibe to me. I do prefer his lower tone though 😅

Ah, I'm sorry but his new voice really sounds like Mika. It sounds more nervous and anxious, which for me doesn't really suit his character. My perception of Tighnari was that he was always collected, with some snarkiness here and there. Here, he stammers and is more feeble. Maybe it's just because I'm not used to him and I hope I will grow to like him since he's my absolute favourite character. Some of the voicelines do have this calmness, but most of them don't. I really hope they didn't rush the publication of the voicelines. I love him anyway though.
Edit: I'm actually quite amazed at how quick I got used to his voice. I appreciate it a lot more now that I know the VA did re-did every single voiceline in the span of only two months. I actually don't mind it now. I also am appreciating the new perspective I'm seeing in Tighnari - a bit more caring and gentle (which funnily enough was how I thought he should've been portrayed as in the first place).
I think they actually rushed to change, but I think he may change his tone and the delivery. Because u can hear the change between mika type voice and the deep tone voice. I prefer the deep tone one😊

There are two lines I'd record again if I was the game's voice director, but he sounds pretty good overrall.
Remember when Barbara’s voice got changed and everyone forgot about the old voice? Maybe we’ll soon forget the old Tighnari voice and get used to the new one like we forgot about Barbara’s old voice.

Barbara didn't change the VA. It just changed the tone and delivery.

Luckily, I haven’t done any of the archon and story quests related to tighnari in my sec acc, so I have a chance to get used to his new VA. Assuming they’ve changed every single voice line(which they probably would have) 😅

I've finished the Archon Quests a long time ago and I can hear his new voice in the plot only through the Archive in the game. I hope you will like it.
If you listen to what other characters say about Tighnari, you will quickly realise that NONE of them mention Tighnari being particularly sassy. In fact, they rave about how kind and considerate he is. Tighnari was never actually written to be as sassy as his old VA made him, and it's not bad to like that interpretation, but the evidence shows he was never meant to be snarky/sassy. If he was, at least ONE character would mention it. Even when Kaveh built a house in a WITHERING ZONE Tignhari was still exceptionally kind to him and even invited him over for tea.
personally when i first heard tighnari english voice back in 3.0 i thought it was not fitting the character but now it'll take the community some time getting used to the change

It's not as ...violent. I like it. The ... underlying violence in *ahem* the previous lines was ...offputting. In a character like Scaramouche an underlying violence makes sense. It never made sense for tighnari. it genuinely feels more like what I imagined Tighnari from the get go. Also. Hayner. hehe.
So shall the scaramouche... do Ahem too?🙂

He does good job, but i admit missing the old voice. And dont bring up old ones personal life. I purely talk about the voice. It had more highs and lows. On the other hand the new va is replacement so he doesnt have personal connection with character he voices yet
There certainly is something here, but I think it will take Zachary some time to get used to this role. For now it's a bit stiff imo and doesn't flow as natural as it could.

I’ve already accepted our new fox boy, “take some time” my ass.
he sounds younger like his JP dub counterpart of tone but all on its own..still love it so much since he's doing it ow the vgoice direcotor..hoyoverse..even Cyno's english VA support Zachary Gordon (Movie wimpy kid actor I recall)...and yeah..he brought the level of sass yet more of sarcasm and yet the same nerdy ranger we love!!

Im abit dissapointed with the "excuse me?" Line, It sounded abit more bland than the threatening aura the last VA did, but i still like It anyways
He sounds so much less condescending. I like it.

Personally- I don't really like his voice. Zach did a GREAT job, but I don't think the higherpitch suits Tighnari as well as the previous voiceactor did. I genuinely hate how people with amazing talent do dumb things..
Anyways, I feel like his voice would be REALLY good for Mika or Chongyun
They do something about it (at least I think 🙂)
