    The meta for this group is crazy. They all do the "claim 3", they all then lie about all 3, and then they kill each other for "double claims." It's insane!

      I agree. They lie way too much for no reason.

      @@DannyJutten Every time I watch these i think the same thing. They nom because someones in a double claim and they think they are lying but the person who noms is knowingly lying about their role and double claiming. It makes no sense and from the videos ive watched they are almost always wrong lol.
      I would like to see a game where they dont allow the same handful of players to dictate everything. Would be interesting to see how that would play out.

    • @EtoileLion
      @EtoileLion 2 года назад +17

      @@ronnie3044 There are definitely 'generals' in the game, and people who talk...wayyyy... too much and over other people/the ST. I have a suspicion that this group specifically is why the Hell's Librarian exists.
      I dont necessarily agree with the idea that it makes no sense. As Town, the only way you can solve the game state is to get people to talk, and potentially get Evil to talk themselves into a corner. A nomination, even on a weak double claim, is more information. You'll also see that a lot of the time the early soft 'double claim' noms are not carried out with a decent/plausible defense. Even if there it forces a pivot, the pivot tells Town more information.
      That said, I truly don't understand Hazel's to-the-death Saint claim at the endgame. At some point, you've got to come out with it; it took Edd figuring the world out and flat out exposing Hazel before she gave up the bluff.

    • @RavenGlenn
      @RavenGlenn 2 года назад +8

      They kill for double claims to try and resolve them. Someone will either come out when accused or will come out after death.
      Either way it is the only way to resolve things when everyone is lying.

      I think she was claiming Saint in order to prevent a potential star pass as the recluse can register as a minion. After all, an alive player is more potent in voting than one dead vote. Plus this is game of bluffing, the only thing Hazel could be sure of was being the recluse.

    What a crazy game. Sometimes it's really fun to watch veterans play BotC because they just do the most insane plays. I feel like a lot of people get bogged down by the meta and just do blatantly weird plays as if they're metaing the meta that they would meta the meta so they meta that before someone metas them metaing the meta and it becomes 5 steps to the one bluff.

  • @TatsumiyaLightning
    @TatsumiyaLightning 3 года назад +21

    This group has a really bloody odd meta. The imp got executed because all the townsfolk were lying hardclaiming random shit, and it just so happened to coincide with her bluff. Then because she's in a double claim, with a liar mind you, she gets executed. The lying townsfolk didn't bother mentioning that they were lying the whole time and allowed an apparently innocent person get executed. And this isn't the first game where this kind of thing happens. There's been several games I've watched where evil people get executed for being in a hard double claim, when in truth the other person is just flat out lying and doesn't bother setting the record straight. They just rub their hands gleefully at getting a potentially useful townsfolk executed. It's really weird. But hey, if it works for you...
    Just...it doesn't really make for the best of a learning experience when everyone is lying random shit and executing people willy nilly on pure social reads.

    As someone from the future (rewatching these for fun) the description doesnt say how the choirboy rules but the wiki does. It says:
    "If the Demon kills the King, you learn which player is the Demon. [+the King]"
    The Choirboy learns who the Demon is when the King is slain.
    So to answer the ruling it would be either Aggie or Hazel (but not Nadine or Growlen)

    Is there a mistake on Day 1? At 39:38, a last-minute hand-up by Aggie brings the vote count to 6 on Nadine. The tool even shows "majority is 6" but Ben immediately says, "6 is not enough." It seems like that should actually be enough to put Nadine on the block. Nobody seems to catch it.

    • @manuelgardea9419
      @manuelgardea9419 3 года назад +14

      The reason it wasn't enough was that earlier that day there had been a tie for two players at 7 votes, so an execution needed 8 votes at that point. My guess is that the tool only tells you the majority but doesn't police situations like ties

    Sorry for spoilers (don't read if you don't want to know!) Around 2:06, when Ben asked Aggie to fall on the sword, she said she would if there was a recluse. Does that mean that if the recluse is alive and all the evil players die/get executed, the game continues? I know the recluse can read to town as evil but they are still on the good team are they not?

    • @BloodontheClocktower
      @BloodontheClocktower  Год назад +4

      This game was ages ago, so I don't remember anything about it. But at a guess, I think you might be referring to the Imp's ability to kill themselves in the night and pass it on to a minion. Since the Recluse can register as a Minion, it is possible for an Imp to kill themselves and make the Recluse into a good Imp, who would then have to advocate for their own execution in order to win. - Ben

    There was a comment in an update a long time ago (about Teensyville) that said Bad Moon Rising was criminally under-appreciated. Here we have a comment about feeling sorry if someone has played Bad Moon Rising more than Trouble Brewing. Is Bad Moon Rising unpopular? I’ve only played Trouble Brewing, but Bad Moon Rising looked like the script that I would like best.

    • @BloodontheClocktower
      @BloodontheClocktower  3 года назад +4

      Bad Moon Rising isn't particularly unpopular, but we've found that each individual player group tends to pretty quickly develop a favourite between the two intermediate scripts - Bad Moon Rising and Sects & Violets. Everyone loves Trouble Brewing. ;)
