- People often believe that resolving issues with a scratched lens is as simple as replacing it with a new one, assuming that this will solve all problems. However, the lens is just one component of the optical system. Within the device, there exists another critical element: the optical module responsible for redirecting light from the lens to the CCD image sensor. In essence, it comprises two parts - the lens and the optical module.
Ideally, when replacing the lens, it is advisable to also replace the optical module. The synchronization of these components varies depending on the manufacturer; they are intricately tuned to function seamlessly together. Therefore, merely purchasing a new lens may or may not suffice. In such cases, it is not the seller's responsibility but rather a matter of compatibility with the manufacturer's optical module.
Adjustments may be necessary, and users might need to troubleshoot the compatibility on their own. For guidance, I recommend searching for 'blur image Insta360 lens replacement' on RUclips to observe how individuals have addressed and resolved similar situations

Very good explanation. I ran into this exact problem after DIY the lens portion myself. I tried what you did but removed too much material from the two screw posts on the first go. Had to pad the back of the holes with some paper to increase the distance by about 0.1mm. The difference between a bad focus, a decent focus and a great focus is about 0.04mm to 0.02mm to 0.00mm. At the very end I had to just leave the screws slightly loose by about 1/4 turn.
Thanks for the video!
Thank you for sharing your experience. Yes, this is a very engineering work! You need to fine-tune the distance in the range of 0.0x, a lot of tries and experiments!
