I was last convicted of a crime 24 years ago, in my youth I committed a string of offences of a fairly minor Nature but I am labelled for life and there are many things I can’t do that regularl citizens can, no jury service, no firearms, not allowed to be in several professions, I accept that and it’s okay. I don’t blame Australia for sending NZ citizens who commit crime back to NZ. I understand it is hard for the 501s and their families but it is what it is, we all need to take responsibility for our actions and live with the consequences.
As he should be kiwi's thinking they have the rights to act like criminals in Australia has been happening for far to long......Every Aussie is clapping ....
A lot of you miss the point of the whole story. It’s about highlighting that when deportee’s find themselves back in NZ - there are programmes waiting to help rehabilitate and reintegrate them back into society as contributors. That’s a net positive for Aotearoa I reckon.
Are you kidding? The whole focus of the program was on how hard done by they are. Yes it's sad and an awful situation I wouldn't want to be in but Australia was an opportunity they took for granted. Choices have consequences, we have enough of our own criminals.
@@Sub-515 You do understand why your ancestors were brought to Australia yeah? Time has no waiver, especially when the pot starts calling the kettle black. I had to work non stop in the first 10 years living in WA Perth. Your not entitled to government benefits, it's very stressful, hard to provide food for yourself sometimes. Your in competition with others to keep your job. On top of that, you have to meet Key indicator performance, and that can be most difficult. You have to be physically fit strong minded, great interpersonal skills, etc. I can go on and on. But this is just basics.
Well it looks like the people in this video have only learnt their lesson once being deported. They would’ve had plenty of opportunities to sort out their lives in aus. Funny how actions have consequences.

Some of them are born here or bought over as a kid so technically they are raised Australians. Those ones should stay in Australia because that’s their influence on them. The others told you they lost their jobs! Theres no job seeker or unemployment benefits here in Australia like NZ has. So they do what they can to get money.
@ are you like 10 do you know how economics, job market works. Mate in Australia they hire teens it’s cheaper labour 15 an hour for under 18 year olds. Why would they hire grown adults? Look at the ratio of jobs per applicant here rn. You’re competing against immigrants from all around the world.
Your sons can come see you in NZ, unless they're struggling as well as their not working in Ozland. And if they are, then they could be 501 too soon. Most of us islanders have this macho, pack mentality that we need to let go of.
Unfortunately, it is self-inflicted. I hope everyone who is 501'd to Aotearoa finds a way to heal and move on with their life, and do something positive with their 2nd chance.
Well it's not like your being deported to a third world country. NZ is one of the best places to live. People move to Australia for money not lifestyle. You can still make it here financially, you just have to try a bit harder. NZ is far better then Australia.
@@MariaRota-cs8ld you’re right but I think it is one of the most beautiful countries just sucks that living there is so difficult financially and less opportunities.

The victim of his violent crime was probably scared as well.
Here's an idea. Don't commit crime. Wishing these people find a positive future. Good journalism story I enjoyed it

Why would you go to another country with more opportunities and commit crimes risking deportation. Just obey the law doesnt get simpler than that.
