Yes, lol I am actually filming it this weekend! Turn on those notifications. I'm going to do demonstrations on each and give the good and the bad of each product!
FYI I tried the giraffe one and the "locking" mechanism didn't work. Called support and they sent me a new one, and that doesn't work either. Amazon reviews are full of people complaining that it simply won't lock. Good news is that the support was great. They sent me replacement without needing the old one back, and when the second one didn't work they sent me my money back and didn't even need to send anything back to them. Ended up getting the hoselink instead and so far it's worked perfectly (and a bit better pressure too, probably due to bigger hose). Ended up buying a second one for the other side of the house.
Great job. I like the way you did both of them at the same time with the editing. That is a great way to compare items almost at the same time. Nice style.
I have a 82 ft Hoselink for one side of my yard that I used all season. We just purchased the shorter one for the other side of the yard on a recent sale to be installed in the spring. I’m really enjoying not have to wind up hoses!
They are seriously awesome. Attractive and time savers. I think it some how helps with my low water pressure issues. Their sprinklers are boss too. I just did a video on one as well. Thanks for watching!
I have the Giraffe one(130ft) as well and its already sagging on its mount. Still works and retracts just fine though. I may look into the hose link as Im sure its eventually gonna break.
Great review Clint. 2 questions. 1: can you easily shorten the connection hose so extra length is not hanging down? 2: is the hose box accessible to clean it out, if needed?
It was a 3/4 masonry drill bit. I reamed the holes a little as well. Drilling into the mortar was easy but I burned through a bit drilling into the brick!
Can you replace the hose and keep using the reel on either of these if the hose is damaged? There is a brand called Gartenkraft that allows this, but they don't get fantastic quality reviews. (Though they do have a 3 year warranty...)
If anyone is needing to mark holes, cut lines, etc. on _dark_ surfaces where a black Sharpie, pen, or pencil could be hard to see, you can get silver metallic Sharpies (like some swanky restaurants use on their black styrofoam containers). They cost about the same and often come in multi-color packs along with standard black.
When the hose gets longer they give you a half inch. That's why I was saying the comparison was not exactly fair because the hoselink was a bigger hose. Giraffe Tools makes the same size in a 90ft. The pressure is great in both but the quick connect and shut off with the hoselink is money.
Great video! Waiting for your one year review before I decide which one to buy. Which model Hoselink do you have that is 5/8" ID? All I have seen are 9/16".
I just recorded it. I will have links and everything in the video. It will be out this Friday my friend! Make sure notifications are on! The hose link is the 82 foot thicker hose
The landscape in the front was supposed to grow tall in the front but its not growing do to insufficient sun. And in the back my wife and kids run around that corner and requested I go high so they can go under it. I would have loved to keep it lower!
I have hose link for 4 years. It has failed. I ordered the Giraffe brand now and will see how it holds up. The hose link is hose works and I will try to salvage that but it will no longer retract.

Do you have an update on the durability of each hose? Or a preference for one over the other?

@@sebastiansylvan8979 that is fantastic. They both have amazing customer service that is for sure.
I'm ALMOST ready to pull the trigger on one of these. Just need my hose to piss me off once more lol
I was there! These things are pricey but the headache and hassle that is saves you makes up for it. Now it's the longevity game of the product.
Just installed my Hoselink over the weekend, loving it so far!
Great job. I like the way you did both of them at the same time with the editing. That is a great way to compare items almost at the same time. Nice style.
Thank you my friend. I tried to do that with the new year end review I just did. I appreciate the kind words.

I know right! I constantly am thinking to myself "why didn't I get one of these sooner"
Hoselink hasn't failed me yet. Nice review. Cheers
How long have you had yours Mike?
Good review, thanks for sharing. I definitely need 1 of these in my life really soon

Good review bud! Thanks for sharing!
The hose link has the most features. I needs that........😆🤘🏼
They are worth it for sure if you are a hose dragger like me
Someone grab a hose 😆 that is Justin alright! Great review Clint 😎
Hahaha I added that in last minute. I couldn't stop laughinga
I have both 3 Giraffe tools hose products. 130,90, and the ground hand crank one. Giraffe was the best and I beat the crap out of them.
Excellent review. Was hoping you would show the install and you did!
Really good review Clint ! I have a hose link out back and front. Absolutely love them !!
ThankS Scott. You know what I'm talking about. These things are worth every penny and keep everything looking need on the side of the house.
I need one of these in my life
They are definitely convenient.
I know it's only been a few months, but how are they working out?
Anything you noticed (pros/cons)?
thanks
Thanks for the shoutout
Nice hose
I am more-on then off lol. Great review bro
Hahha thanks Keith. I live these things.
I have the Giraffe one(130ft) as well and its already sagging on its mount. Still works and retracts just fine though. I may look into the hose link as Im sure its eventually gonna break.
When you say sagging are the bolts loose or is the plastic bending?
What size drill bit did you use for the giraffe tool
Can I use a different hose or do I have to use the company's hose?
That is a good question. I would have to ask. But those hose boxes are pre assembled with the hoses in it already. I will ask.
@@TheNeighborDominator thank you! I just really like the zero hoses, because they are very light weight.
Would you be able to do a comparison after you've used it for 6 months and see pro and cons for each, and which one you like better?
I like more the Giraffe one, it seems less big than the Hoselink even do I have the feeling that the Hoselink quality is at another level.
I have had mixed reviews on both. I an excited to see how they handle this season!
Great review Clint. 2 questions. 1: can you easily shorten the connection hose so extra length is not hanging down? 2: is the hose box accessible to clean it out, if needed?
I will have to look into both of those questions. I definitely want to be able to open and clean these suckers out. Those are great questions.
Great video very helpful man!!!
What size drill bit did you use for the plugs to fit before screwing in the bolts?
It was a 3/4 masonry drill bit. I reamed the holes a little as well. Drilling into the mortar was easy but I burned through a bit drilling into the brick!

Do you think installing on stucco instead of brick will work and be the same process?
I believe you have to install a wall mount. You might want to go the post route. That is what I'm doing for the other hoses this season.
Can the hose that is retractable be replaced over time for another? I have the Giraffe Tools one
What kind of drill bit did you use to go through the brick?
3/8 my friend
Damn bro your neighbors house is sick looking.
I bet it’s very satisfying Dominating him
🤣👊🏼
He doesn't have a lawn! It's all cement. The thing looks like a castle!
Sick
My hose is over extended and I don’t know how to get reel retract back. Please help?
Which one?
Definitely want to pick one up….. but let’s talk about the back yard 😳
My back yard? It's a mess! It's coming along though!
Suncast Powerwinds are good but looks like they are discontinued.

Great vid! What size masonry bit did you need for the mount? Did the kit come with the proper anchors? Can't find in the specs whether it does or not.
I used a 3/8. It comes with the instructions and anchors. I'm going to be doing a year review of which one is better to start my season off.
Appreciate the video. Never saw the Giraffe before. How do they work? Big difference in volume?
When the hose gets longer they give you a half inch. That's why I was saying the comparison was not exactly fair because the hoselink was a bigger hose. Giraffe Tools makes the same size in a 90ft. The pressure is great in both but the quick connect and shut off with the hoselink is money.

Why mount them up so high? What would you think about mounting it on the wall at knee height?
The landscape in the front was supposed to grow tall in the front but its not growing do to insufficient sun. And in the back my wife and kids run around that corner and requested I go high so they can go under it. I would have loved to keep it lower!
Exactly what I was thinking !!!!😂
@@TheNeighborDominator Any been close-lined yet on the high hose?
That's what would happen to me.
How is the assembly? Do you have to reel in your own hose or does a hose come installed?
It comes all set right out of the box. It is very convenient! I love these things.
I have hose link for 4 years. It has failed. I ordered the Giraffe brand now and will see how it holds up. The hose link is hose works and I will try to salvage that but it will no longer retract.
Did it just fail in the 4th year or has it been a problem? Is customer service helping you?
Hi Arvind - for any Hoselink concerns the customer care team is always there to help! Send any questions to usa-support@hoselink.com :)
haha the channel is called Neighbor Dominator and his neighbor looks like he is living is a dam castle. Just thought that was funny.
I still don't see on comments which one is better.....😔
I'm doing a year end review soon. I do have a favorite
@@TheNeighborDominator can't wait unfortunately on that I gotta buy one soon was hoping to see on comments which one was better...
200 bucks seems kinda steep for a hose reel. But id love to have one. Hint, hint...nudge, nudge.
It is a little pricey but if these last a decent amount of time, they are so convenient and headache free
I have the Giraffe and another brand. The Giraffe sucks. Hose blew a hole after a couple months and you cant take it off.
Did they hook you up with another with warranty?
@@TheNeighborDominator i didnt file any claim. I just wont buy from them again. even if they sent another one.
I thought the smart one has wifi connection that you can control it with your smartphone and has voice assistant like Alexa. 😆
Hahaha my buddy NY lawns has that! I'm not smart enough for those!
Does anyone make one you do not have to mount on something?
Yes. My parents had one that was a box unit on the ground. I will find out and get back to you. The year review is the week or next!
Hope it’s not a pile of hose. 😂
Hahahahha
