I think a big problem is because the roster is a reflection of the current state of WWE's roster and the WWE in general in 2022. We don't have a particular variety of "characters/personalities" that we got used to back in the 90s and 2000s.

I think WWE 2K22 has the most outdated roster compared to every other WWE video game in existence. Yet again, WWE wasn't firing boatloads of wrestlers at a consistent basis back in the day.

I want a Shawn Michaels showcase mode. From debuting as a Rocker up to winning the big one at Wrestlemania 12. Think of all the big time matches and moments we would be able to replay. Turning on Janetty. Working with Sensational Sherry. Ladder match with Razor Ramone. Teaming with Diesel. I think that would be fun

But after WM 12 he also had a lot of shitty big moments like "losing his smile", the Montreal screw job, losing to Austin at WM. It's seems like the roster is last years since they skipped over it which is ironic. I think the last game to be out of day like this was one of the first smackdown vs raw games.
Maybe I get this wrong because I've only played a few and the last one I owned was 2k13 but I thought every game had pretty much last years roster, but maybe they changed it after 2k13 to be the proper roster in each game and I have no clue about it

In regards to Jake Roberts. Jake signed the rights to the character and his likeness over to the WWE. WWE can use him and the character however they want and dont have to pay him for it since they own the character. Thats probably how they included him.

I know I discovered that there were no Dusty Rhodes, Kurt Angle, Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake, The Bella Twins (Nikki and Brie), Alicia Fox, Lita or Paige. Now that sucks! That is why I will not get that game. I am just going to stick with 2K19.

The overalls have ALOT to do with the physical side of the characters! Strowman is VERY strong but slow in 2k 19 so his overall takes a hit but if he gets ahold of you your limbs are definitely changing colors
Well at least Cole and Bryan will be Hella easy to recreate in the game especially since we won't have to worry about presentation names too and I'm sure their entrance animations will still be in the game.

I wanted to see Kofi 08, MVP 2010, Kelly Kelly, Iron Sheik, Kurt Angle, Melina, Eva Marie, Eve Torres, Legion of Doom and loads of legends etc. I wanted them to have hidden superstars so when you do a Royal Rumble or something some wrestlers can just enter and then become unlocked. I hated the ladder matches mini game so I hope that has been squashed. I would love to have more customizable entrances such as old theme songs etc and stuff. The game looks great but they need the 2k19 or 2014 rosters and the new wrestlers added in.
If I recall the roster is usually scanned before the following WrestleMania. Sure the roster being outdated can be annoying but what can you do? I'm just glad those released will still get paid for there likeness and rightfully so. I listen to Jesse Ventura and if wrestlers are indipendant contractors as wwe claims they are why a contract with a no compete clause for 90 days? 2k and WWE should start considering wcw and ecw Legends like glacier raven ECT as dlc
I definitely want to get this at some point, but for one it really seems like it needs a lot of patches now And two, this roster is pretty disappointing playing 2k19 for so long that has such a great mix of wrestlers from every era, and a lot of WCW guys I feel like this game will be worth it when it's been out for a while, all the DLC is dropped, and it hits a sale price I'm sure the Creation suite will fill in a lot of the gaps here, but it's never quite the same thing
Really would have loved to see some of the nxt 2.0 roster this is literally the only way I learn about nxt stars by playing the game as I don't watch nxt

Soon as I noticed Randy Orton at 88 overall, I immediately got pissed and said why the hell his overall not a 90? I’d believe Undertaker being at 88 over Randy since Taker retired after his streak ended, so his stats shouldn’t be all that high now that he’s old. On a side note, they purposely screwed up the overalls and left out wrestlers we all been expecting in game so we would buy the 2K accelerator and DLCs wrestler packs featuring the superstars we want. THQ needs to get their hands on these wrestling games and show these rookies how making a world class wrestling game is done
The biggest problem for me is the lack of NXT UK. There is only one person on the whole roster that’s an active UK wrestler (Jordan Devlin). Some like Imperium and Kay Lee Ray were in UK but on 2.0 now. But Ilja Dragunov, Meiko Satomura, Gallus, Pretty Deadly, Noam Dar, Jinny, Xia Brookside, Dave Mastif, Eddie Dennis, Sam Gradwell, Rampage Brown, Isla Dawn, and more should absolutely be in the game! Some of them have been on the active NXT UK roster for almost 4 years now!
NXT UK was also shut down for a lot of this game's development. NXT UK was shut down from March of 2020 until last September I believe. Also the first time NXT got featured in a game was WWE2K15. It had five wrestlers: Adrian Neville, Bo Dallas, Corey Graves, Rusev, and Sami Zayn so maybe that's what WWE wants to with NXT UK.

I think the roster is one of those things you can't really complain as much about. The roster is kinda out the hands of 2k. They can only put in the game so WWE green lights. Overall I'm actually happy with it as is. And there are some people that I think just aren't shown that are unlockable. Also supposed to be multiple dlc packs coming also. Pair that with it having one of the best character creations in all gaming and you can basically put whoever you want in the game anyway lol

As someone who hasn’t watched wwe product regularly since 2016, and only watched big ppvs, I couldn’t care less about any of the people missing other than Kurt Angle and Daniel Bryant.

If y'all have the PC version, then it shouldn't be too hard to do. I don't think mods would work because for people who don't have the PC version, it would probably crash the game. So mods aren't going to work, so y'all could try to create Jericho and Christian with their AEW and WWE attires, definitely a possibility🤔
2K did a Ringside Report today going over Showcase and MyRise, and in it it confirmed that tbe Showcase does not start in 2005 because one of the matches in it is Rey Mysterio Jr. vs. Eddie Guerrero from WCW Halloween Havoc 97. Weather it goes back farther then that who knows, but there is a WCW match from 97. No Rey matches from 99-2001 will be in the game probably as an unmasked Rey Mysterio probably will never be in a WWE game

This is how I feel.. if you don’t have a big name in the WWE you shouldn’t be in the game. A lot of the wrestlers currently are still building there careers and honestly a lot of us core fans just aren’t familiar with them. WWE has iconic wrestlers and only the guys with a legit career in the business should be in the game.

I think they shoulda added Bad Bunny in the game instead of MGK since Bad Bunny actually has one of his songs in the game and we could use his song as entrance theme. And you can't change it, you need the accelerator for that (for some reason). Either way it's not about playing with a certain overall, it's about 2K not having the smallest idea about wrestling, and with these overalls, it shows.

I wanted to see Kofi 08, MVP 2010, Kelly Kelly, Iron Sheik, Kurt Angle, Melina, Eva Marie, Eve Torres, Legion of Doom and loads of legends etc. I wanted them to have hidden superstars so when you do a Royal Rumble or something some wrestlers can just enter and then become unlocked. I hated the ladder matches mini game so I hope that has been squashed. I would love to have more customizable entrances such as old theme songs etc and stuff. The game looks great but they need the 2k19 or 2014 rosters and the new wrestlers added in.

If I recall the roster is usually scanned before the following WrestleMania. Sure the roster being outdated can be annoying but what can you do? I'm just glad those released will still get paid for there likeness and rightfully so. I listen to Jesse Ventura and if wrestlers are indipendant contractors as wwe claims they are why a contract with a no compete clause for 90 days? 2k and WWE should start considering wcw and ecw Legends like glacier raven ECT as dlc
I definitely want to get this at some point, but for one it really seems like it needs a lot of patches now
And two, this roster is pretty disappointing playing 2k19 for so long that has such a great mix of wrestlers from every era, and a lot of WCW guys
I feel like this game will be worth it when it's been out for a while, all the DLC is dropped, and it hits a sale price
I'm sure the Creation suite will fill in a lot of the gaps here, but it's never quite the same thing
I do like how they put the actual irl pics of the wrestlers on the wrestler pick menu.

2k scanned most of the models in the game, I'm sure that they probably scanned the wrestlers a bit too early from release so the roster was outdated.

Soon as I noticed Randy Orton at 88 overall, I immediately got pissed and said why the hell his overall not a 90? I’d believe Undertaker being at 88 over Randy since Taker retired after his streak ended, so his stats shouldn’t be all that high now that he’s old.
On a side note, they purposely screwed up the overalls and left out wrestlers we all been expecting in game so we would buy the 2K accelerator and DLCs wrestler packs featuring the superstars we want. THQ needs to get their hands on these wrestling games and show these rookies how making a world class wrestling game is done

The biggest problem for me is the lack of NXT UK. There is only one person on the whole roster that’s an active UK wrestler (Jordan Devlin). Some like Imperium and Kay Lee Ray were in UK but on 2.0 now. But Ilja Dragunov, Meiko Satomura, Gallus, Pretty Deadly, Noam Dar, Jinny, Xia Brookside, Dave Mastif, Eddie Dennis, Sam Gradwell, Rampage Brown, Isla Dawn, and more should absolutely be in the game! Some of them have been on the active NXT UK roster for almost 4 years now!
NXT UK was also shut down for a lot of this game's development. NXT UK was shut down from March of 2020 until last September I believe. Also the first time NXT got featured in a game was WWE2K15. It had five wrestlers: Adrian Neville, Bo Dallas, Corey Graves, Rusev, and Sami Zayn so maybe that's what WWE wants to with NXT UK.
I want to see wwe2k22 women roster confirms Aliyah,Chelsea Green, Cora Jade, Xia Li, Queen Zelina, Eva Marie, Doudrop, Ronda Rousey, Brie and Nikki Bella, Paige,Lita. Please

I think the roster is one of those things you can't really complain as much about. The roster is kinda out the hands of 2k. They can only put in the game so WWE green lights. Overall I'm actually happy with it as is. And there are some people that I think just aren't shown that are unlockable. Also supposed to be multiple dlc packs coming also. Pair that with it having one of the best character creations in all gaming and you can basically put whoever you want in the game anyway lol
more WCW Superstars would be nice! maybe as DLC ! Buff Bagwell, Rick Steiner etc. Scott Steiner etc. Curt Henning, Raven, Kidman, Dean Malenko etc.

To solve the problem they just need to make a WWE game with a roster consisting of late 80's to 2010. Anything after is just dead, no memorable wrestlers, characters or storylines after that point

As someone who hasn’t watched wwe product regularly since 2016, and only watched big ppvs, I couldn’t care less about any of the people missing other than Kurt Angle and Daniel Bryant.
I am super happy that Johnny Gargano is in 2k22, but sadly Christian isn't in the game. Hopefully y'all community creaters try to make his WWE and AEW attires. That is for all my Rebels and Peeps

2K did a Ringside Report today going over Showcase and MyRise, and in it it confirmed that tbe Showcase does not start in 2005 because one of the matches in it is Rey Mysterio Jr. vs. Eddie Guerrero from WCW Halloween Havoc 97. Weather it goes back farther then that who knows, but there is a WCW match from 97. No Rey matches from 99-2001 will be in the game probably as an unmasked Rey Mysterio probably will never be in a WWE game

This is how I feel.. if you don’t have a big name in the WWE you shouldn’t be in the game. A lot of the wrestlers currently are still building there careers and honestly a lot of us core fans just aren’t familiar with them. WWE has iconic wrestlers and only the guys with a legit career in the business should be in the game.

I think they shoulda added Bad Bunny in the game instead of MGK since Bad Bunny actually has one of his songs in the game and we could use his song as entrance theme. They shoulda also added Bron Breakker and more NXT superstars into the game
