My god, embark could well be the new kid on the block when it comes to AAA shooters, the finals was criminally underrated and this looks like it’s shaping up to be the gold standard for extraction shooters
I used a raider flare twice... Once as bait and got two kills off it, another as a response to getting engaged where I got shot at dove behind a corner and shot flare off. They came in thinking I was dead and got the jump on them. Both was amazing. Raider flare underrated.
I think it's a misstep to not have a playable social space where you can walk around in third person, especially since this is going to be a premium game and not free-to-play.
@@Beebledopp The person who made this video is allowed to speak about it and he mentions how the social space is sort of just a menu, he mentions it in the video. The video we are commenting on.
Only reason corporate would allow that is to sell skins.. If it's a paid game, they wouldn't want to spend $ on dev time for that. Idk, just thinking like a penny pinching suit 🤑😅
Arc raiders is really fun, I 100% suggest playing it when it comes out or signing up for chance at alpha. this recent alpha was the most fun my best friends and I have had
Love the peackock idea! I can imagine it hitting the ground and deploying the gun up front and then spreading it's metal tail feather's like an Uchiwa hand fan as a shield to protect itself from behind. Then we could harvest the "tail" to use ourselves as deployable cover.
I love the amount of detail you include in your analysis, down to how the animations and graphic elements work when you are approaching stuff for looting. Very much appreciated!
I’ve never really been too keen with extraction shooters (ie Tarkov) BUT given Embarks Dev ability and the sheer excitement I had watching the gameplay I think I’d love to give it a go! So excited to see when this puppy comes out (of course Embark should take their time making their artworks)
i know that the finals is not that popular but its so good and fun, i dont know but i have trust by this devs they really put there love theyre creating
Currently my 2nd time watching through your video and I just have to say you cover this game extremely well! I have been looking forward to this game highly ever since the first trailer dropped. I was looking for in-depth content in regards to weapons, specifics, maps, and more, and you went over all the main topics I was looking for! Wishing I could’ve been apart of either playtests but the game looks promising. From aesthetic to mechanics to sound design, quality seems to be their focus and that’s something I dearly miss in modern shooters! Props to Embark 🙌🏼 Reminds me of the original Star Wars Battlefront and how “quality” that was for its time. Kiakaha my friend! Can’t wait to play this game alongside you and other ARC Raiders players!
To add on, I think they should do a mass-multiplayer mode where they have all 3 maps in one accessible setting and extraction teams are 6 or 8 or so players. To create continuity between maps and convey the larger “open world scale” prior to making it an extraction shooter. Make the rounds 45 min to an hour maybe? Then include personal vehicles such as from prior snapshots? Just some ideas :)
I don’t think this will be possible because of the server load. The maps are pretty detailed. However, they could have quests that require travelling to the maps in a particular order.
Can't wait for this game, although I wish the Speranza Plazza was a real safe place that you could roam around and do stuff for you charecter just like Destiny, The First Descendant, etc... This opens up room for Story and much more... Although they maybe could be working on it either way, super excited for this game
The shadows of the arc would scare the shit out of me and they would be halfway across the map!! Also going back into The arena in the finals and now when the platform is taken over in power shift I instinctively crouch and look into the sky. ha
Good break down and I agree that an in game environment for what is essentially a menu is not needed for these games. The amount of time and resources TCF spent on theirs was baffling.

No, they’re different. That was an internal video Embark use to onboard new team members, introducing them to the game. That video included a successful extraction at the Metro station as well.
@RockhoundBlack I hope so, I like the idea of it being more of a casual extraction experience. Plus, seeing it is one thing, I need to feel it! Does vaulting and movement feel as fluid as The Finals? I tried Black Ops 6 on gamepass and that solidified The Finals as my favorite shooter. 🤣 The Finals movement is unparalleled and the game is just constantly full of action that's clip worthy. Hoping to get those kinds of moments with Arc Raiders!
I'm scared about the success of this game. I've never seen a paid multiplayer extraction shooter be successful (except deep rock galactic, and it handles monetisation pretty nicely)
I think most people would say Escape From Tarkov has been a success. However, a lot of devs have tried to emulate that game or create variations of it, so having something fresh in the genre is a good thing imo.
Why do you reckon that? Allowing any player (who’s not a teammate) to revive another, combined with proximity chat, would definitely open up some pretty toxic avenues of gameplay. For instance, reviving and then downing players over and over, or demanding that they essentially become their mule if they want to get out with anything.
@@RockhoundBlack I guess you're right, but only if one or two of your teammates are off in another part of the map. Otherwise, if you get downed and you have a teammate or two nearby, it'll be a dangerous behavior for your enemy to rez you considering at any moment your backup could arrive. I do see your point though.
@@RockhoundBlacki actually like the idea of the things youre talking about. The ability to essentially kidnap and manipulate the behaviour of other enemy players sounds like a really interesting social dynamic to add into the pvp encounters you will get in this game that i honestly wish more games explored. If i knew arc raiders let you do this with defibrilators i wouldve definitely tried it out during the tech test. Besides, if the encounter starts to become genuinely toxic, the downed player can always just leave the game.
I’ve been looking forward to this game for awhile but tbh the moment I heard that it’s not free killed it for me. Any new IP multiplayer game HAS to be free because nobody is going to take the chance to pay to get out of their free comfort games. And I don’t want to buy into a multiplayer game just to watch it slowly fail. I’ve done that too many times. The industry is messed up now.
I was interested in this game but the pivot to an Extraction shooter killed all my excitement. Still hoping this game is a success tho, Embark could use a dub but this game ain't it for me
I'm gonna be honest this is a weak excuse of a game for the people who made Battlefield. I'm so tired of shoplifting simulators, this new type of job gaming is worst of the worst. what happened to vehicles, jetpacks, wallrunning, mechs, aircraft, destroying buildings, building buildings, even digging a hole is more interactive. I hate these games so much because they always look like theres almost some fun to be had but it never ever comes.
@sirdrip1313 i can see where your coming from, but to say this is a "weak excuse" when all the changes you stated where all from feed back about the closed alpha last year is kinda just you not cope with the idea of change. I get it if your upset about the direction of the game changing compared to the alpha but embark is fully listening to feed back and changing the game to appeal to the dedicated community that's been following for a long time.
@Porkla no I don't think any of that was ever in this game, this is pretty much what was advertised and Imagine making a garbage hunt when they had the chance to make anything. what they made is the lowest form of gaming thats ever existed no fun, no skill, no story, just backpack losers fighting for garbage
I'm still so very disappointed that this game pivoted from PvE to PvP(vE). I've poured thousands of hours into Tarkov/Hunt/Apex/etc and I'm just... So bored and jaded. The gameplay of these games are incredible, but 98% of rounds comes down to "do well against AI, get cool loot, then 50/50 chance of dying to a sweaty team of rats camping the extract." From what we see here, the game provides zero tools/systems to incentivise collaborating with other teams; it's yet another game where going on a murder spree is the best way to ensure a win. I'd love if the AI was so ruthless that not collaborating with other teams would be suicide, and that there was some sort of system that acknowledged how murdering your fellow raiders who are bringing valuable topside resources back to the civilisation are viewed as... Well, shitty fucking people. Give us an honour system which clearly marks players who are known for being the only ones returning from the surface with blood-soaked gear stolen from other teams.
IMO. I think the best middle ground with solos is not to have a separate queue JUST for solos, but do what Hunt Showdown does. Where if you are solo you can go into instances with Duo/Trio's, but the ELO/MMR for the groups are lower than yours. So "Skill wise" groups should be less skilled than you, but they have the numbers. But if they have the player base for just a solo queue that would be nice!
