How to play "Stormy Monday" on guitar with Tipton Boiter. Check out her RUclips channel here youtube.com/@tiptonjones-boiter And Here's Tipton Playing it live ruclips.net/video/4mlnaGgc6Cs/видео.html Thanks for watching!
Wow!! Thanks for the video , love your style and presentation of your knowledge of the song, I love the Allman Brothers. Can’t wait to dive into the channel. ✌🏻Tipton, wow!!
Great no nonsense lesson, you covered more in six and half minutes than some do in twenty minutes, and the chord shapes on the screen are a massive help, love the tone of that Tele, many thanks Tipton.
I’ve watched a fee videos on this song and I have to say, your video was the best. I like that you added the vocals, it made it easier for the student. The chord diagrams were easier than trying to explain the fret and string numbers too. Great job, thank you
I only just came across this vid... awesome stuff... playing a Tele adds bonus points... 9' chords are my fave go to chords (if that makes sense...) really enjoying it... cheers from Perth, Western Australia...
I like that you use some barre chords for this I play for myself for theraphy, some people like to think its almost forbidden with barre chords in this type of music..they think its to much, but when you play alone like me its great..I have it bad my tinnitus so I will never be in aband situation 😢but I need the music and love this, had to guit my job, because of tinnitus, but my fingers work and as long as I can hear music I will go on, thanks for your post 👍☮️🌏🙃
Nice compact lesson. Love the Cm7 insert. Also they (ABB) use a Diminished chord as a turn around (Str. 5 Fret 5, Str. 4 Fret 4, Str. 3 Fret 3, Str. 2 Fret 3) which brings you back to G (7).
That was one of the best explanations of not only stormy Monday, but the differences between major/minor pentatonic and when to use them, thank you!! You got a new subscriber.
Good lesson thanks for sharing. Tasty lick at 2:04, nasty lick at 3:14..wow factors! ,you hit some nice licks over a C9 and D9 chords later on towards the end of the lesson. Binge watching this lesson!
Thanks for commenting Gary. I'm about to upload a live version from a performance Tipton did last night. This is Matt at Stokes Music Studios. We're thankful for Tipton's contributions on this channel and at our lesson studio and in our lives. She's a fantastic human being! Be sure to check out her channel too. youtube.com/@tiptonjones-boiter
Just perfect for a hack like me your video and instruction was the best I found . Showing the chords helps a guy like me who is not familiar with all the names but knows how to play the chords. Thanks for the good job well done 🎸👍
Nice G&L! Just got my first G&L two months ago. A Fallout. Lovin' it. I like the fact that you put the chord diagram in the corner and that you made this short and sweet with a lot of info like where the major and minor "boxes" are.
Enjoyed your approach to this classic, 1st time viewer. Appreciate your explanations and examples of where and when to switch between major and minor sounds. Dig your tone and tele. Thank you for sharing your experience knowledge and passion. BEST AND PEACE
The Stevie Ray Vaughan version? It would pretty much be solo licks since it's one of those songs where the bass and B3 are holding down the chord changes. I'm thinking about doing a follow-up video to Stormy Monday, going into more detail on major minor soloing. I can definitely cover some of SRVs signature licks in it though.
Nice G&L Asat , more a real Leo Fender guitar than... spare your money! and it's nice to listen to Bobby Blue Bland '62 version, the most both musical & sensitive to me. And the version to work on, to my advice & practice. Thanks stoke Music , simple & efficient.
Thanks! I'm thinking about doing a second video going into more detail on major minor soloing. Is there a particular part of the song you would like me to cover?

✌🏻Tipton, wow!!
When you hit that tone about 1,15 we knew that you are not common. It takes a special ear and talent to make it sound like that ,wow.
I looked at several lessons on this, but this is the best one.
Thank you!
Spot on! Played this for years but your take is better!
Great no nonsense lesson, you covered more in six and half minutes than some do in twenty minutes, and the chord shapes on the screen are a massive help, love the tone of that Tele, many thanks Tipton.

I like that your just casually laying out the blues. For someone experiencing in chord voicing this is super easy to follow. Thanks!!
Could you sing more of the song. I love how you add a bluesy feel without a ton of runs.
