Long story short: Don't use "auto" bitrate and set "audio source" to "default audio source". But tbh, it still kinda sounds meh. It's because the sample rate gets locked to 8000, I suspect. Perhaps a limitation of bluetooth bandwidth? Higher bitrates don't sound significantly better btw. oh i goofed the last section of onscreen text lol, should say "voice recognition" not "voice calls" 00:00 via standard camera app 00:42 IRLPro Unprocessed Audio (auto bitrate) 01:13 IRLPro Unprocessed Audio (128kbps) 01:56 IRLPro Camcorder (128kbps) 02:12 IRLPro External Mic (128kbps) 02:25 IRLPro Default Audio Source (128kbps) 02:37 IRLPro Optimised for voice calls (128kbps) 02:52 IRLPro Optimised for voice recognition (128kbps)
I'm so glad you demonstrated this, Eric. There are so many phone interviews that just suck because of low bit rate and fidelity that it makes the points they are making lost on the audience. Thanks, man!

I'm surprised it's so bad on bluetooth but then I am not familiar with bluetooth wireless mics.
