I've had the OA3 for about a month and I really like it. I probably watched 50 videos just like yours prior to buying it. And in all of those videos, including yours, it's clear that the GoPro 11 has the sharper video. The level of detail the GP11 picks up compared to the OA3 is just insane. II didn't really come down to dollars for me, it was the features. Battery life, usability and reliability (freeze-up, overheating, etc.) all lean towards the OA3 and that's what ultimately decided it for me. I do see myself owning a GP at some point in the future though. Thanks for the vid!
hey man, I noticed in all these reviews that when snowboarding or skiing, the OA3 doesn't really pick up any details in the snow compares to the hero11. Is that something u can adjust through settings and editing?
@@mattthewy6870 I don't know if it is due to the (not so) recent firmware update or settings/card/etc, but in all the footage I took with my OA3 while snowboarding in the bright sun conditions the snow looks insanely detailed. However, when light is flat it is all a very different story.
I have the A3 and love it. I've owned the hero 5, 7, 8 and 10 and had issues with all of them and decided to try the A3 and never had any issues with it. Even the focusing is on par.
I definitely think the GoPro 11’s lighting and detail (rocks, small particles, ect.) is a bit higher, but the audio on the GoPro sticks out especially as much better (5:28)
Too bad gopros tend to constantly overheat... a while back I decided to upgrade my dji osmo action 1 to a gopro 10, I never had any problems with the osmo 1, first time I used the 10 it would keep crashing and rebooting mid recordings and would also overheat a lot, the software overall was very buggy and it would also randomly corrupt my footage, I did get a replacement from gopro but most of the problems where still there. As soon as the action 3 came out I instantly sold my 10 and bought it, still 0 problems a year later. Reading online it seems that gopro quality really fell off after the gopro 6, they are recovering but I've seen many more people still complaining about the quality of the 11 compared to the action 3
ruclips.net/video/hkWQCH5qOWM/видео.html not always, You can have bad luck and get dji which overheat more than gopro. you must remember that the hero has been bought and tested by more people, so there will be more situations when there is a problem. I came across reviews where problems with osmo action jamming are discussed
Me personally I think that the GoPro defines more textures and I definitely think the chords are more visible on it. Audio is faily even but the ultra wide on the dji is better.
Although the quality of the Gopro may be higher, I think the osmo outdoes it for me because of the battery life, overheating (it doesn't really matter for ski clips, but I mountainbike in AZ and it gets to 120 degrees in the summer), and sd card errors and file corruption as well as the PRICE!
Image quality is a null factor for a camera that isn't recording because it shuts down. Hard pass on the GoPro for me. Let's hope they eventually hire engineers who stayed awake in their thermodynamics courses.
Hi, I need a camera to film from out the car on the way. I wil alos speed with to 150 km/h. Which one would you pick? I have my trust in you so am waiting for an answer
Where would you buy this in Canada? I would love to get the replacement coverage available from DJI but not sure if I can add that option if I purchase from Best Buy.
insta360 x3 is the better option over these two cameras in my opinion. I love DJI's products, but my experience with gopro has been much worse. However, 360 capture is a completely different world.
i had an insta x2 and was a little bit tired about the postprocessing. Sure, while filming, you can just turn on and forget, but after, you have a lot of work just for finding the right angle etc. For some Mountaineering-Adventures, it was really nice, but I sold mine.
I had the Insta360 X3 and it was a very good camera. Sold it because I was in between trips for a few months and now kind of regretting it. It's perfect for walking around with it on a selfie stick extending up and out of a backpack like an antenna.
Both cameras are very good for they're price and quality. But if I had the money I would get both of them. The quality of the DJI while skiing is better than the quality of the GoPro. There is also should quality to think about too! The DJI while skiing has a softer quite sound than the GoPro. The GoPro has kind of a loud wind noise that I really don't like. So skiing the DJI is the better way to go. Meanwhile MTB on the other hand. The GoPro has a lot better quality than the DJI. The GoPro has way smoother quality and runs smoother. On the other hand DJI is kind of grainy. The quality is not the best. Runs pretty smooth though. About as good as the GoPro. So the GoPro is the way to go while filming on an MTB bike. In my opinion the DJI is the way to go. It would be a great camera to start with and you could slowly scale up into the bigger dogs. It is also a decent price. This camera could also be great for other extreme sports too like, IndyCar, and Formula 1 (F1). This concludes on what camera should be better for you.
The Action 3 seems like a great deal, but every time I see a side by side the image quality of the GoPro seems much better. The grooves in the snow at 3:22 almost can't be seen with the Action 3. Would that really matter? Probably not. But once you see the difference it's hard to ignore it.

I noticed that on both camera's the white balance is shifted to be warmer, which in my eyes is wrong. it should be neutral so that post processing is easier and cleaner. Edit: The OA3 has a slight cooler white balance but less dynamic range, probably due to a smaller sensor. That is also why GoPro can shoot at higher frames, because it can capture more light at higher shutter speeds. Higher frames will also lead to more artifacts especially if the sensor is not big enough to support the light it needs for each frame. This is without looking at the specs, am I close? At 9:59 you can also see the bitrate (information per second) difference. The GoPro shows noticeably more detail or information. I would also assume the battery life on the OA3 is better due to the lower bitrate and smaller sensor. GoPro has more detail and appears to be more vivid, but I also think the GoPro has too much sharpening. I have the GoPro 11, but I still prefer using the DJI Pocket 2. GoPro is too glitchy and it overheats too easily. It also only looks good in super bright sunlight. Indoors, cloudy, low light the GoPro stabilization goes all glitchy and wonky. In anything other than bright sunlight, I have to turn off the stabilization completely and use a gimbal. I'm honestly waiting for Pocket 3 to come out, if it ever does come out.
