I had been going through the “creator depression” and honestly was about to close up shop. Fortunately, I’ve had a change of heart and am now gearing up again to continue. We had an abs light come on, while we were on the highway at 65 mph. Pulled over couldn’t find any problem at all pulled out of the rest area, light went off. Then we were 40 miles from Disney’s Fort Wilderness campground and had a rather odd thing to dodge on the parkway. I looked over toward the median and noticed a semi trailer tire coming at us, at about 60 mph. Being a retired truck driver I’ve seen it before, but my family wasn’t riding with me. I slowed down watched the tire bouncing and then floored it. I timed it right and it missed the corner of the Rv as it was bouncing about 8 feet up as we passed it. We counted our blessings twice because it would have killed us coming in the windshield. But after those two things happened, everything else was “gravy” the rest of the trip.
Wow! Reading that I was envisioning a maneuver out of Fast and Furious. 😂 Thats crazy! Yes, glad you were so experienced to be able to keep you and your family safe. We kind of thought that getting the "bumps" out of the way in the beginning of the trip would be good but they never stopped coming. 😂 We just gotta go with the flow.
@@RCRVadventures Matt the weird thing is I kept going straight, just playing with the accelerator and the brake. Like a duck on water, smooth on top and paddling like hell underneath. I knew if I tried to change lanes or swerve, it wouldn’t end well at all. And if the tire hit the trailer, it would have gone all the way through. I’ve lifted those tires and moved them before, heavy is an understatement and with speed it’s worse. Sara didn’t say a word for like 5 miles. Then reached over and held my hand, looked at me and said “That’s why I want you driving and not me. I would have froze and slammed on the brakes.” I looked over and she had tears on her cheeks. I said “hey, it’s all good. We’re good.” She looks over smiles and says “When we get checked in I’m gonna need a beer or two after that.”
I’m with Sara! I’d need a beer after that or maybe even a bourbon. 😂 Sounds like someone upstairs was looking out for you.
@@RCRVadventures she had a beer or two, and I may or may not have had some “mountain water” when we got all set up 😉. “Mountain Water” or as some call it “the bourbon prequel.” LOL!!
