We’re so happy you enjoyed it! Really wanted to capture the magic and emotions and translate it into the video. It was such an amazing experience. Thanks for sharing with us!
I'm loving the video. It's long so I'm having to watch in parts. I lived in Arequipa for my first year here in Peru. My family lives there in Yanahuara. I tried Cuy one time. yes, it taste like chicken. But Wow! someone ate the triple. Rocoto Relleno, Chancho, and Pastel de Papas. That's always my go to meal in AQP. The tour of the Cathedral was amazing. I did it twice. Interesting fact: Did you realize how large and grand the Cathedral was in AQP compared to Lima? That's because when the pope commissioned the Cathedrals to be built whomever brought the plans from the Vatican accidentally switched the plans and the Lima Cathedral got built in Arequipa and the Arequipa Cathedral got built in Lima. (I'm sure the guy who mixed up the plans is still in hiding.) Oh no, the Convent Santa Catalina is one of my favorite places. It's not too museumy but more historical. I've eaten at Cebillano a few times. I'm with you there Matthew, if someone says "We are going to eat ceviche" I will go but it will never be my first choice. Funny story about my first experience with Pisco Sours. My brother, who is from Arequipa, took me to a bar called "The Lounge" It's on Calle San Francisco above all of the clubs. It's a great place above the hustle and bustle of the city. Anyway, He ordered me a Pisco Sour and told me "Be careful those are strong." I thought you can't even taste the alcohol. I'm not even a drinker so I know when something is strong. I ordered another then our friends ordered Sangria. I ended up having three Pisco Sours and two glasses of Sangria. Remember this bar was more than four flights of stairs up. They had to almost carry me down. Never again. Anyway, I went to Oxapampa two weeks ago. I drove the Jeep. AMAZING! You forget you are in Peru. It's an old German settlement. I'll send you some photos and a few videos. Saludos, Tio Mac, Logan, Rockett, and Cosmo.
Thanks so much Mac! I didn’t know that about the cathedrals. Funny how they skipped that during the tour. 😂 I’ll eat ceviche but it’s not my favorite thing, however, everything else I ate in Peru was amazing. Glad you enjoyed the video. Hopefully I can get the rest of the cities edited for a video within a reasonable time. It’s amazing how much video we took. 🤣 Having to sort through it all. Thanks for sharing with us. Take care and give our love to pups!
Thought for sure that dog was gonna jump on his back 😂. Beautiful hotel view. Looked like a nice spread at Mango. That drink, better figure out how to make that one. That accent got you sounding like Robin Leach 😂. I’m sure she was loving being back home. Was that sound effects or was she really dipping in them streets like that. Lead foot. Horse rides is the hiking I like to do. Nico money we’ll spent kid, $10 for some fun time 👍🏿. Guinea pig 😳. Can’t knock culture. Awesome back of the house tour from the owner at the next restaurant. Bar tour 🙌🏿. The rotisserie chicken looked delicious. Awesome experience for the whole family. Loved this video, very entertaining, thank you guys.
Thanks friends! It was such an awesome experience. I may have added some sound effects to Paola’s driving. 😂 We got you guys some Pisco Sour mix! Saving it for the next time we hook up!
It was absolutely amazing! Yes, my wife Paola is from Arequipa. We were all so thrilled to be able to experience the Arequipeño culture. Thanks so much for following our channel and sharing our adventures with us!
So happy you enjoyed it! Peru is an amazing place to visit and we wanted to share the fun with everyone. If you like this one, check out part 2 to this series. It's our Cusco video! I think it's an even better video! Thanks for commenting!
Would Arequipa, Peru be a good choice for someone to retire at or get residency to live there?. I’m on a fixed budget of $1,650 dollars a month is this enough for a single man to live in Arequipa.
Hi Christopher, Arequipa is an amazing place to visit but I’m not sure if it’s a great choice for retirement on a fixed income currently. I’ve heard that rent is going up as well as cost of living. Unfortunately, I can’t really offer significant advice as we don’t live there but were only visiting. I just don’t want to give you any bad or outdated advice.
You can get apartament rent from 100 to 600 US depending on the district. Electrical and water around 80 . I moved from Lima some 8 years ago precisely because of lower costs of living compared to lima
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it. I also think you’re the first person to recognize that we don’t plan, rehears or script any of our videos. We run and gun. Definitely harder, especially when trying to edit a story but it’s our style and I think people appreciate the authenticity. Please hang in there with us. I promise we are trying to ramp up the video releases. Thanks for your support!
Goooooooooo Gators !!!! We are currently living in Matagalpa, Nicaragua, but Arequipa is on our list for sure. Retired already, We plan to bounce around Latin America and then SE Asia, in search of our retirement city.
Wow! That’s so cool! What an awesome experience. There is so much to see in Latin America. While searching for a retirement city sounds like you’ve found an amazing adventure!
@@RCRVadventures Yes, this is our first stop….my wife is a Nica. We are big cool weather lovers and temps here in the mountains are really nice except noon-5pm. It’s just too hot to stay permanently. One of the many reasons Arequipa sounds great to us.
She is the only driver in Perú that mantains a safe distance between Cars lol. Too much time in the US hence her "Weird" driving in aqp. She doesnt remember that driving here is worst than in india
Acabo de darme cuenta que la casa de tu esposa de chica es a una cuadra de la mía en vallecito. Me parece que han vendido ese terreno junto con el de la esquina de Olaya y luna pizarro?
dude you dumped a lotta cash for that trip take your WHOLE family and staying at the Hilton Garden inn a 4 star hotel, i think your obligated because your wife knows the real deal there because SO MANY BEAUTIFUL WOMEN in LIMA and,,, thats a place you need to LEAVE EVERYONE ELSE AT HOME lol!!!
I can see how it looks that way on video. 😂 The truth is we spent months planning and got some really good deals. Normally, we wouldn’t stay there but that hotel was discounted 75% at the time we booked. You’re right about the woman. Lots of beautiful women there. Fortunately, I married the best one! 😊
I said it before and I’ll say it again. Your Vlogs are among the best on RUclips.
Thank you so much Ross! What an amazing compliment. I’m humbled. Thanks buddy!
This video is absolutely amazing ❤ Beautiful country ❤ waiting for more…..

Thank you! It was such an awesome experience. Highly recommend. It was hard pulling my daughter away from those alpacas! 🤣
@@RCRVadventures I bet. How was the food? Anything that you liked?
All the food was amazing! The cool thing about Peruvian food is how diverse in flavor it is. Of course, my favorite is the lomo saltado. 😂
@@RCRVadventures 👍 Mine too.
Muy lindo el video de toda mi familia. grandes recuerdos de mi ciudad y maravilloso verlos a todos .
Muchas gracias!. La pasamos increíble! la casa, los amigos y cuidad es hermosa.

Yeah! 🤣 Stop signs, traffic lights, etc are more of suggestions than rules. 😂 Better Paola driving than me. 🤣🤣
How she drive is kind of crazy? 😅
It definitely was an exciting ride! 😂 To be fair, I may have added some sound effects to her driving clips to make it more vivid. 🤣🤣🤣
MERCADERES!!!....arequipeña??
😂😂😂 Yeah, my father-in-law gave my wife a hard time for that already. 🤣🤣🤣 Nice catch!
