- It might have been snowing but the fishing was phenomenal in the mountain streams and rivers of southern Appalachia! I caught 9 trout in one day which is fantastic for wintertime fishing! The whole thing was such a blast, and I hope you guys enjoyed this episode.

I think that opossum at the end was straight up attacked by a predator like a fox or wolverine. Only something with really strong teeth would be able to bite his tail off and eat his leg like that. He must have made his escape somehow though!

Asa, sincerely, you need to learn that cats will only ignore anything that is your idea. They have to think it is their idea in order to show any interest in whatever it is. 😂 Also, cats are royalty, and we, are but lowly peasants put on earth to serve them 😆
Louisiana, Hawaii, Tennessee, and Florida series are great but the greatest of all time will always be the PNW days. Snake River, catch and cook trout, bass, crawfish, kayak fishing, sturgeons, catfishing, river smallies, Dungeness crabs!
I miss those days 😅😭 would be epic to see a PNW reunion series lol

When I was in VT, I was asking the guy working a fly fishing shop about the trout in the area - he told me most brookies have pretty small mouths and are generally smaller so he always had the best luck with the little mosquito hooks. I never found a good spot to try but hopefully the info helps someone.
Shoutout to the guys at Fly Rod Shop in Stowe, VT - they weren't shy about helping a big dummy like me and putting me on some good fishing spots
This is a tip from someone local to West Virginia that lives in the back country. Fillet your trout and dip them in 1 cup of cornmeal and 1/4 of cup of flour mixed with salt and pepper. Use butter flavored crisco spray so the fish doesn’t stick to the skillet. Then use butter to fry the fish. Thank me later and plz feature this in a video, it will change the way you have had trout just trust me on this one!

I thought it might be that because the trout was in the ice chest, Miss Piggy thought it was too cold to eat. I've heard that cats like food at room temp, or slightly warmed. But, the trail cam put that thought to rest! She's a picky eater. I imagined that she would enjoy fresh trout. Ya just never know! Thanks for a great video, Ace, God bless.

Tip: when you come across a carcass of an animal that also looks to be eaten from, it’s best to leave the area, most animals may come back to it.

i see you got your knowledge from the internet and not experience. how do you know what animal killed it and when? there’s no animal around where he was that’s bold enough or cares enough to fight a human over a carcass. worst case scenario a bear shows up, but that’s like seeing a blue moon. it doesn’t happen. no bear in early spring is out looking for carcasses. probably a fox or a coyote
