FRANK! Roomie did a video where he did the mbti test, he got an ISFJ, that man is no where near and ISFJ, plz give your opinion before I have an aneurysm. Tbh I'd think he's ESTP, plz deal with this injustice for the sake of all true ISFJ's!
I’m an INTP in a family of feelers. It’s really hard for me to understand people unless I have specific frameworks to go by, and MBTI really helped me with that
God me too, almost all my family and friends (i have only 2 friends but whatever lol) are feelers, i'm litteraly SURROUNDED by them and this can make me feel quite misunderstood sometimes XD But before MBTI i wasn't really aware of the causes of that gap
As an INTP, and as someone who has never found it easy to read the social cues of the people around me, I find that MBTI provides a useful framework to help me understand and interact with other humans. I'm not going around typing everyone willy-nilly, but I've found that paying attention in particular to which cognitive functions people are using is very helpful.
And for me (an INTP too) the MBTI has helped me to accept my flaws I've failed to get rid of as part of me and brought me if not inner peace but small amount of self-forgiveness. When I was a child people were always telling me I was embarrasing or rude when I was trying to be nice and polite but nobody told me how I should have behaved instead and that's why I've always been very hard on myself for every little mistake and wrong choice I make.
I'm an ISFP, and MBTI has helped me to see those who are t's better. I have in the past thought they were being grumpy and unfeeling to me. But now I see that is not true at all! They are just not overly gushy like me, but they don't care any less for those around them. So I have been able to stop getting offended by stuff that wasn't meant to be hurtful at all.
I've always thought that there were something wrong with me, like a mental problem, im not good with everyones feeling, not even with my own feelings (sorry my english) i get distracted easily and all that other characteristcs... But now i have some clues of who i am like, i feel like finally found the answers and know i can work on it
An MBTI test is not really science. It's a tool which can be useful when used correctly, but it is no scientific tool. Analyzing self ratings can be a part of science, but the self rating alone is not. You do have a bias and only 50-70% of the results are correct and/or reproducable.
When I first got introduced to typology about 5 years ago, I made the mistake of joining a Facebook group for INFJs. I saw so many people playing up to the stereotypes and I felt like I was mistyped because I wasn't identifying with the rest of the group. I ditched the group after about 2 months and got on with my life because I wasn't actually learning anything useful. Learning about the cognitive functions and being able to identify them at work has been invaluable information and has helped me to grow exponentially in the past year. Gotta love the efficiency aspect of that, I'm not into wasting my time. Thank you for this series, Frank!
“ISFPs are all amazing artists.” Yeah, no. I definitely don’t fall into that stereotype and that’s why I first had a really hard time believing I was ISFP.
i had a similar train of thought when i was typed as an intj. im kind of a goof ball and have trouble sticking to time tables/being punctual so i was kinda skeptical lmao
As an intj, i started into mbti because I wanted to know how this interesting little system works. But after a while, I realized it was a great shorthand for helping me remember how people are. But, the most powerful thing it provides is an efficient way to tell how people are different from you. There are times when people are asking concerned questions and one person may take that as being supportive and someone else may take it as being untrusting of your ability. Sometimes, people end up being rude when they are simply being careless and assume everything is sunshine and rainbows and the idea of offending someone doesn't even land on their radar. Sometimes people do just need a hug, they aren't making a move on you.
@Shimohira Reika you make a good point. However, even tho I could not predict without any doubt that the quality of the video would be amazing, i do know that Frank James’s video are, as a whole, good quality content. I was confident that the video woud be valuable since Frank is a great content creator, he is well instructed and he gives exact information. I knew his video would be instructive. Finally, i had a fifty/fifty chance that his video would be either good or bad. I then took the chance to state that his video would be good, because I had a strong instinct based on my knowlegde and trust in Frank james. In conclusion, even if I could not affirm out of all doubt that his video would be good, i choose to do so because I had high expetations, influenced by a long period of watching this RUclips channel’s videos.
2 Things: 1. When I found out I was more INTJ, the description made me understand what Lauren Hill was singing about in Killing Me Softly- REALLY seen. I was depressed for 3 days but then I realized it explained sooo much about me and helped me see what I want to work on as regards to myself. Now, knowing my INTJness, I understand myself better and how other people may view me from things I do that I think are kind and helpful but actually come off bossy and harsh. It still happens but now I know what’s going on. 2, There’s a RUclipsr who took the test and got ENTP. Then said how, as Frank brought out, “it was limiting” and people change, etc, and just debating the whole thing. It was the most ENTP thing he could have said! ☺️
There are two ways to understand and use mbti, to your advantage and against you. If you use it the wrong way, you may start putting labels on people, as well as yourself, thus boxing yourself in and limiting your chance to grow, when in reality it should be a tool to help us learn about why we do things the way we do, and develop ourselves in areas we might be lacking. Knowing about my and my friends'/family's types has definitely been a game changer :) And sorry I basically just paraphrased your entire point but I share your sentiments completely! 😊
FJ, I know this is a bit off-topic, but congrats on 600K subscribers!! :) I am very happy for you and proud of your success! You really deserve it!! Your channel is one of the best channels I've discovered on RUclips, and your videos are the only ones I find worth watching on a regular basis. Based on the comments a lot of people leave below most of your videos, I feel free to thank you for all the help on behalf of all of us here. :) We are so grateful for your advice, and we admire your creativity and your various talents. And let me add, we really appreciate the effort you make to create your videos. I enjoy both your new content and your old stuff. Don't you ever dare to criticize or delete your older videos, or something like that!! :) Sometimes, when there's no one I can talk to, I watch your older videos, and they really help me. They are very comforting, deep, and beyond compare. What else can I write but that I feel sorry for the viewers who haven't discovered your channel yet! :) I wish your channel an even faster growth!! Keep up the amazing work!!!
I lurv MBTI - It gives me a window into other people’s brains, more empathy over all, more patience for my own short-comings, and a great frame of reference for learning to develop my less prevalent functions. Thanks for all you do FJ!!!
Knowing my type actually helped me being ok with myself! I'm ENFP-t and as a teenager I was told I'm too emotional, because I sometimes change my mood more than once a day....I was then send to to therapy, which I quit after a few sessions, because I didn't feel like I needed fixing. It damaged me and I started to not express myself anymore. Not jump around happily, not making jokes, being very self-concious, not talking about bad things that happened to me ect, I became very serious. Soon I lost interest in my hobbies didn't connect with people anymore. In short feeling like something is wrong with me, made me depressed... I knew before the typing I was fine as a person, but I still had been critizised for being a scanner. I'm too sensitive and emotional for some people. But now I understand this is my strength. And that that it's fine. I'm from a very strict household. I needed to do 6 years of gymnastics as a child, even though I didn't like it to teach me consistency....My parents tried to teach me to not be a quitter that way.... Yeah they don't understand me at all. I function differently, so I must be wrong. So reading there are others like me with similar problems helped me a lot! My best friend from childhood is INFJ XD So the ENFP x INFJ thing has some truth to it! I'm glad she understood me! I love her to the moon and back! ❤ She is wonderful! I'm typing this at 6am....I'm only half awake. I hope it's not too incoherent!
That's a lovely story! I'm an ENFP, too. 🥰 I think some people see me as an unorganised person. This was a problem cuz my former landlord was a very meticulous, strict person. (She was just mean tbh...) I felt so anxious living in the house cuz she made many new rules after I moved in and invaded my privacy. Her emails were really obnoxious as well. So like you, I started to hide my spontaneous, free personality to avoid conflict. I moved out of that house, and now I'm receiving weekly counseling and getting myself back and also improving myself. 👍 I think I've become a stronger person now, which is awesome. Thanks for sharing your experience! 🎶 It is great to hear other ENFP's overcoming stories. They cheer me up. ♥️
First of all, typing at 6:45 in the morning, half awake too 😅 I'm so sorry you had to go through this! It's hard when you're good and happy as a child and they think you have to be "fixed". I'm sure you were perfectly fine ;) I was told the same as a kid and thus trying to change me or making me more of an extrovert which actually made me more introvert I guess but, you get the point. I do think, emotional and sensitive and intuitive types are often looked at as a risk because people don't like being exposed and when you see through them or their bs.
It helped me personally sooo much to understand why I had fights with some of my family members. And understanding that they had different functions made me accept those differences, and to communicate better with them. Like the fact that I have to stop arguing about spiritual stuff with my INTP brother 😂 (ENFP there btw)
Bringing up the phenomenon or issue with identifying too much with (actually whatever it may be - your personality type, your diagnosis, your sexuality or race or religion) was a really good thing.
I'm an ace ENFP 6w7 with Asperger's, but I'm mainly just a multifaceted person with all sorts of preferences, quirks, and idiosyncrasies. You're absolutely right.
FJ, you are really putting typology on the map. I remember when it was rare for MBTI content to only get 20K followers, now you are at 600K subs! Congrats and it is so well deserved. You have made personality type commentary cool! Thanks for all you do and keep up the great work. 🥳👏🏽👍🏽
I'm an INFJ and before I knew MBTI, I always feel that I'm weird because I'm so different from other people around me in the way of thinking, loves being alone and enjoy myself with so many books, etc. Even my sister in law once said to my mom that she thought that I have some social issue. 😅 And when people do or think something different from me, especially when they are making decisions that looks like not considerate other people, I always thought why he/she can be so cruel. Why people like that exist? 😅 But after I knew MBTI, I knew I'm not weird and understand that people are different. And like what you said, it makes me communicate and understand people easier. Try to embracing my inferior functions makes me become better person and avoid some problems. Thanks for always make MBTI video that easily to understand, FJ! 🥰👍🏻 Keep up the good work! Always love your video.
Good talk and so true! When I was first exploring typology and learning about myself - and coming to terms with it - I had a bias against extroverts. It sounds so funny to me now, because I'm a lot more open and accepting about different people. At one point I was in one staff house where mostly introverts lived. We'd go out drinking, but in the house we'd be really chill and not talk much. An extroverted guy got hired at the company and he was on the extreme end of high energy. The guys treated him so badly and I felt very bad seeing that. It's like the reverse situation where the introvert gets shunned for being too quiet. As it turned out, that extroverted guy had an angsty side and did a lot of writing, so we connected on that level. It taught me such an important lesson to practice what I preach - to accept others as they are and they're not always who they seem to be on the outside.
I'm taking a personality psychology class right now and your videos are so helpful! I'm so fascinated by the 16 personality types. I've been having my friends take the test to learn more about their personalitites to understand them more. I'm an infj btw!
MBTI has been my saving grace when it comes to social interaction. I used to be horrible at it, but since discovering MBTI and learning more about it from great speakers like FJ, my brain can finally rationalize most of the intricacies of social interaction. Kudos to FJ for putting all the information in an easy-to-absorb format.
So many reasons why It's important to understand 16 Personalities! Just recently, I introduced my sister to this channel and she took the 16 Personalities test, it turns out she is an ISFJ (I am INFJ). We binge-watched the comedy skits together and really got to understand one another while we laughed, as there was no doubt that the comedy skits precisely represented our personalities. A level of trust and openness that didn't exist before has blessed our relationship since then. I am forever grateful to FJ.
This was so good I did a backflip outta my window... Well I was about to, but it's currently snowing outside, so I thought, 'Better not!'. Great advice re: knowing how to watch out for unhelpful patterns of behaviour, and how to be more patient and compassionate re: others'. And congrats on the 600K subs! :)
I'm INPF and I think it's pretty accurate. I'm also a Gemini and most Gemini things don't match with me so... I don't think it's just astrology for smart people
Appreciate you highlighting the inferior function. The dominant function is the obvious ones that everyone embraces in themselves, but it's the lower functions that really are where changes can be made when you're aware of them. It's more important to know about Fe inferior, for instance, than Ti dom. It's really hard to confront the inferior function, cognitive looping, nemesis, critic and demon functions when you don't have an awareness to them. MBTI should spur growth, not stagnation.
Brilliantly put bro. As an ENFJ I felt exactly like that - the power that MBTI typing has to show you how to better understand people. I have also become (even) more tolerant towards people as well, but now I feel like it's a more conscious process than how I used to process this before.
asking someones personality type is literally one of the first couple questions I ask a new friend or even a date!!! Its actually a great conversation starter!!
I was skeptical at first. But i got more into it and it really gave me better understanding of myself and others. Im glad you're explaining stuff with "how types communicate/ how they make decisions" etc it is more hm, practical ;) Ahhh Sundays videos are the bestest. They get me wonder 😊💡🧡
Yess exactly! I like MBTI because I get to understand myself better, how my pattern works and see what I can improve. It gives me clarity and validation as to why I do things the way I do, also how I can go up from here. I also get to see where people coming from if I know their type. I can't identify people just yet but when they tell me my type I can be more understanding and compassionate to them. -ENFP
For some reason I was hoping for a fluffy cat and an Italian accent when the video started, haha. 🐺 And great hair, apparently some people manage to get proper haircuts even now while I could not go to the hsirdresser since this whole "C thing" started (very jealous indeed!). Also I really liked what you said about the reality perception. My sister is a feeler and her problems often seem blown out of proportion to me (a thinker). It took me some years to learn that listening and comforting her before starting the "logical problem-solving mode" is much better and more efficient than skipping over the emotions involved. 😊
Learning about MBTI has helped me be more understanding of others; to be less critical. Also to be forgiving when people hurt my feelings or rub me the wrong way. It helps to realize that not everything should be taken personally...some things others do has absolutely nothing to do with how they value me as a friend.
You figure people out eventually without this, you learn how your friends, family and associates are, what to expect and how to deal with them when they get weird or you want to convince them about something. Having a good grasp of these things might speed up the process considerably. That's what I hope, anyways. And knowing my type has already helped some in dealing with my weak points and recurring problems. Instead of feeling weak or stupid about some particular thing that I do, and repeating myself regularly, I might actually be able to quit it if I know what to fix. I can think I'm doing it for one reason, but I'm seeing it's actually something different.
Insightful vid! You always teach us something new and and we love it. Recently, someone shared that there's 4 questions you can ask to determine a person's mbti type. 1.) Were they popular in school? (Yes = E and No= I) 2.) Did they play sports? (Yes = S and No = N) 3.) Were they good at math? (Yes = T and No = F) 4.) Is their room clean? (Yes = J and No = P)
According to your test, I got INTP. But I took the MBTI test a week ago and got ENTP. To be fair, I was loud and outgoing, but people didn't like me cause I was really annoying.
I was sceptical first and just took the myers briggs test because I saw many youtubers/Instagramers being asked what type they are. But then I took the test (several times) and learned a lot about INFJs. Most things fit so perfectly and especially the videos on YT on how to use your strengths as INFJ and what not to do, helped me soooo much. Especially FJs and Wenzes' Videos. I feel like I know myself better now and that I am okay the way I am (but as an INFJ of course want to improve! lol)
I was officially typed by a trained Myers Briggs consultant a few weeks ago...it's so nice to know exactly what my type is now! I had my suspicions...But yeah. Thanks. Great video!
I'm an INTP who hates math more than anything else, knows jack diddle about programming or hacking, wants to major in art, and is actually fairly empathetic (when I choose/care enough to be, lol) Don't be some checkmark on a list 👍
Thank youuuuu! I don't like science either (even if i admit it can be very interesting), and i'm also a very happy and positive person, which trait does not really fit into the INTP type
@@midoriemi3859 Yes, same! INTP here too. I am really optimistic and pretty empathetic (I took a lot of time to develop my Fe inferior these last years) and that's why I have a hard time relating to the INTP stereotypes sometimes (which is basically why they are stereotypes, they're not true all the time of course). And it's also true that INTP artists are really slept on, thought they are not that much of a minority! I actually went on MBTI surveys and the most commom college major among INTPS who took the survey was actually art :)
Personality tests are very inaccurate. The only way to understand your personality is to actually study cognitive functions. I see a lot of people claiming to be INFJ's and INFP's, both of which are extremely rare, especially INFJ which was for some reason the personality with which most users got on the 16 personalities website (357K). People try to explain this by saying that INFJ's are more interested in these tests, which is not true. The truth is that INFJ's and INFP's are the types of personalities that suffer the most mistyping, and the vast majority of people do not even belong to these groups. That is why studying cognitive functions is so important, because in addition to the tests being inaccurate, they deal with heavy stereotypes that come down to just 4 letters, and our personality changes constantly over the months and years.
Yeah, the questions are so basic and people can't help but give the answers on basis of their idealised assumptions. The test strongly demarcates between the two types of each parameter as if it's not possible to have a balance. Whereas, functions explain such traits. The way letters P and J and T and F are distinguished annoys me the most in that test. I got to know my type only after studying functions otherwise it would just assign me as an INTP or INFP.
And people get so attached to being the stereotype that 16 personalities gives you. Humans are so different and have vastly different experiences. Having the same cognitive function preferences as someone else shouldn't mean that you're the exact same type of person as them. It's the way we process information and make decisions that connects us to our 'type'. You're individual personality is so unique to you that it can't be put in to a box with anyone else so you can't based who you are just on those 16 stereotypes
Yaaasss. More videos like this, please. My only suggestion-as one INFJ to another-is to script your presentation, memorize it, and practice it again and again. This may seem a bit inauthentic, but it’ll feel more natural over time. I’m diggin’ the colorful wardrobe, btw. “Well, one does want a hint of color.”
Wow! Many of the points that are discussed here aren't normally spoken about. As much as MBTI can be addictive and could subconsciously limit to act in a specific way, it definitely helps in understanding own's behavioural aspects as well as of the people around. You only witness overall development on a longer run 😁.
I think the benefit to typing yourself is to understand your home base - where you feel the most natural or comfortable. That's only the starting point, then you learn how to expand from your core traits from there.
For me, it has helped to accept who I am and where I fit in with society. I no longer feel dumb that I can't do math. I no longer sift through endless career "opportunities." I am who I am and I'm okay with that now.
I took this test a few years ago & it has been an amazing & painful at times to have to go yeah that’s true. I am an INFJ with PTSD😬 Not an easy road for a sensitive. I feel everyone as if I have no skin.
One of the careers I'm deciding on is being a profiler for the FBI. Understanding the personalities gives tremendous insight to this career type. What do you think? Does understanding the personalities in accordance to the Myers Briggs indicator provide a helpful contribution to this field in terms of accuracy and reliability?
I do understand it partially. I think it just complete. I did some research on others scientific personality stuff. Dont know the names anymore but i Saw a lot of stuff that i all combined into the mbti. I think that we should not only het our personality but also our 2nd layer, Since i Saw a lot of people not being sure of their type, they usually feel like 2 types, one Just more than the other. I think that the other type is also an important part of their Personality. For me it is very correct. Im enfj but i apparrently get mistaken for being estp for being centre of attention, not giving shit and being way to confident for an enfj
Maybe that means you're in loop. Enfj - Fe, Ni, Se, Ti Estp - Se, Ti, Fe, Ni So, enfj uses estp's dominant function when in loop. People sometimes look like their tertiary function is their dominant.
The last section was really actually helpful, I am an INFJ and I'm freaking out about a meeting I'm supposed to drive because I'm not good at talking at length and having to explain stuff to people. It's so stressful for me, but hearing this I'm trying to calm myself down that I'm anxious because of my type and maybe I can do better and it won't be so bad after all...
It’s a great way to make relationships. Not that anyone I meet I’m gonna ask them to take a test because that would be weird, but from celebrity couples, if I look at their mbtis they always have the compatible ones so the compatibility thing is true
1. As an ISTJ, 6:55 describes EXACTLY one of the benefits I got from MBTI. 2. Also, definitely relate to 9:10 when an ENFP would always ask a ton of questions in class about things we didn’t need to know (“What if...?”). But now I can live with it haha
I’m somewhat varying between INFP-T and INTP-T. It’s always close to 50% on the nature scale every time I take the test, but more leaning more towards F type. It’s not always a clear cut but it does help me understand myself better
Ayeee bro that was good for learning, I’m a estp and this was really useful for me to understand. Thanks man Just realised you reached 600k so congrats dude
For me, learning about MBTI helped me because: 1. It made me realize there are different kinds of people who see the world in different ways, and that's ok. 2. It made me realize that myself being different from other people is ok. 3. It made me more aware of my own strengths and weaknesses. 4. It introduced me to an interesting and diverse community with relatable memes. 5. It helped me to springboard into other more serious psychology topics such as personality disorders, which learning about has lead to my own personal development and becoming a better person.
For me, the most valuable thing about typology (or astrology) is to see one's self in a positive light. Because we're all different, we sort of look at each other with an attitude of "you're wrong, you're weird" but, when you read or learn about your own type, you discover the good qualities you have, and the particular skills or abilities you have. You can feel good about who you are, even though other people don't understand it or appreciate it.
@@alsatusmd1A13 Astrology and typology are both based on archetypal patterns but astrology is more complex because it says, well, you've got the sun in this sign (which is one archetype) and then your moon in this sign (which is a different archetype) and this ascendant over here (which is a different archetype again) and then different archetypes for each of the other planets. Numbers and birthdates can also be used to look at archetypal patterns. There are definite correlations between people who are born on the same day number, for example. Just as there are accurate and not-so-accurate descriptions of the MBTI types, there are also accurate and not-so-accurate descriptions of astrological and numerological types. And in both systems it can be difficult to work out someone's type just by looking at their behaviour. I recently said in another comment elsewhere that I didn't think Frank James was a Sagittarius (because, to me, he displays a lot of water sign traits, such as Scorpio) but now I can see, yes, he has Sagittarian traits of humour, intelligence and a desire to teach. He definitely has the Scorpio archetype in him somewhere, though. He's always looking for balancing one person's weaknesses with another person's strengths, which is very Scorpio. Anyway, you probably weren't expecting this stream of words ... apologies if it overwhelms you. I'm just really into archetypal patterns.
@@heathergrahame9647 typology is no simpler in any real terms, it just says this order of the cognitive functions is this archetype, which is a more…rational definition. Astrology/numerology vs. typology is basically the Observing vs. Deciding dichotomy applied to defining who is which archetype.
@@alsatusmd1A13 That's really interesting. I've never seen it like that. For me, I approach all of them with my intuitive function (seeing or sensing a pattern from all the bits of information). Each archetype (whether it's a number, an astrological sign or an MBTI type) has a certain overall "flavour" to me, and when someone says something that isn't accurate about an archetype, it feels wrong inside of me, as though someone has played the wrong note in a musical piece. My own personal favourite is numbers (which links in with astrology). I could talk or write about the meaning of number symbols forever, and ever, and ever, and ever, and ever ....
I agree, we have to try to understand ourselves, but then we have to try to understand others. We're all here together, and even though it's hard sometimes, it's necessary. We can't stay stuck in our "tribes." It's taken me decades to finally step out of my comfort zone, and I'm much happier. Still have issues, but don't we all!😂👍✌
I already put a thumbs up cause it thought me so much about myself (when you're typed correctly and know the real functions) but also about others and that having empathy is not all, with the functions we get that we are different from other people
Great list of the reasons I study personality typed! As always, love hiw you explain things, gonna show this to my dad, (who is a bit hesitant about typing)
ISFP here - one test I did classified it as "the artist" and I did another test, got the same type but they classified it as "the adventurer". I used to be quite adventurous, especially as a child when you don't really have the sense of danger. Early adulthood, I did things because I wanted to without thinking much of the consequences, I certainly wasn't the "what if ..?" type. Becoming a parent changed that, "how would it affect....?"
Narrative lens is shaped by type but we can integrate perspectives of different types to increase skills. I borrow from NTJ's, SJ's & SP's for work. The SP skills are helpful for flexibility & problem solving on the fly. Im intensely INFJ so I need those skills for balance.
There was no ad for me! Mwhaha. But, Frank James, I would sit through an ad for you, my friend. Also, totally laughed at "This person is still weird." It's true, understanding personality types has helped me to understand that everyone has different functions and reactions to a situation. At the same time, it still doesn't excuse bad behavior.
INTP here, through MBTI i didnt learn what i should be like, i learned why i am this way. A good example is talking on the phone, never liked it but im not at all afraid of public speaking or people in general, i've done jobs that really dont fit for an introvert at all (door to door salesman) and i know understand why i had the feelings i did and why i could never reached the top, Still i sometimes enjoyed the job even tho it was 100% talking to strangers, its because i was passionate about the product (Home Security). Its hard to get an INTP to talk, but once they start they cant stop.
Is it normal that I "forced" all my friends to do the personality test, so I know how to act in front of them that they feel comfortable? (Btw I'm an advocate, haha...)
My hope is to use MBTI as a framework for writing believable characters that are different from me. Especially important because the alternative is to actually go out and talk to people, which I'm not a fan of. Unlike horoscopes, which are assigned regardless of personality, MBTI profiles can afford to not fit people, making them more specific and thus more useful. That said, I'm not married to the theory, and I'm also considering other ways of classifying personalities. (If you've read this far, you've likely typed me as INTP, which also seems to be the case.)
I strongly resonate with a meme that I think I have seen several different versions of, which takes the expression "if you label me, you negate me," and turns it around to say, "If you label me, you illuminate me." I don't understand why so many people seem to be so afraid of falling into the trap of thinking that they must be exactly like everyone else of their type. To me, it is a baseless fear. I am a ninetieth percentile introvert who hates the restrictions of lockdown with a passion--so much for that stereotype. And the more you incorporate nuance by combining the Meyers Briggs with the Enneagram, the more baseless that fear is going to be. Some people of the very specific sx so 468 (4w3 6w7 8w9) ESFP type like apples and some don't. Some grew up in Germany and some grew up in Tennessee. I wonder if the reason why I have never been able to understand that fear might be that I just know myself particularly well? I've never doubted that I was an introvert just because I don't mind talking on the phone all that much. And I accept that sometimes--to the extent that we are able--we are called upon to step out of our comfort zone and not act exactly as our preferences would normally guide us to.

ARE ISTJ'S MOST LIKELY TO BECOME SOCIOPATHS(I'M SCARED)
I’m an INTP in a family of feelers. It’s really hard for me to understand people unless I have specific frameworks to go by, and MBTI really helped me with that
interesting
God me too, almost all my family and friends (i have only 2 friends but whatever lol) are feelers, i'm litteraly SURROUNDED by them and this can make me feel quite misunderstood sometimes XD
But before MBTI i wasn't really aware of the causes of that gap
@@midoriemi3859 lol I have only 2 friends too, both feelers
It has really helped me understand the humans more. -intj
@@LilacSnowBun ah yes, the humans
The same MBTI has done for me (but I'm an INTJ)
I'm an ISFP, and MBTI has helped me to see those who are t's better. I have in the past thought they were being grumpy and unfeeling to me. But now I see that is not true at all! They are just not overly gushy like me, but they don't care any less for those around them.
So I have been able to stop getting offended by stuff that wasn't meant to be hurtful at all.
I've always thought that there were something wrong with me, like a mental problem, im not good with everyones feeling, not even with my own feelings (sorry my english) i get distracted easily and all that other characteristcs... But now i have some clues of who i am like, i feel like finally found the answers and know i can work on it
@@samy101p2 Your English is great :)
"Oh, that person is a weirdo" is 100% scientifically proven, by the way.

Lol same bro

I make art, and people I'm pretty decent imo, but I haven't taken a test yet.
Just like how they say INFJs are great counselors. I'm terrible at helping people reason things out.
This is going to be fantastic. You dont even need Ni to know that

2 Things:

Knowing about my and my friends'/family's types has definitely been a game changer :)

First of all, typing at 6:45 in the morning, half awake too 😅
I'm so sorry you had to go through this!
Congrats on 600k Frank. Well deserved
An INFJ here
It helped me personally sooo much to understand why I had fights with some of my family members. And understanding that they had different functions made me accept those differences, and to communicate better with them.
Like the fact that I have to stop arguing about spiritual stuff with my INTP brother 😂
(ENFP there btw)
Same here, INTJ tho.

Don't worry it's just Timmy and his mates!
Exactly! MBTI is a tool, it's not meant to lock one in a box.
😅
And when people do or think something different from me, especially when they are making decisions that looks like not considerate other people, I always thought why he/she can be so cruel. Why people like that exist?
😅
But after I knew MBTI, I knew I'm not weird and understand that people are different.
And like what you said, it makes me communicate and understand people easier.
Try to embracing my inferior functions makes me become better person and avoid some problems.
Thanks for always make MBTI video that easily to understand, FJ!

I really appreciate your comedy as well as the definitions and it's helped my son understand why I behave the way I do; which is a plus.
It's really exciting to know immediately but sometimes I like to build my own view with them first before I become biased.

-ENFP
MBTI has generally helped me increase my self awareness and give words to facts about myself that I'm aware of but can't accurately express verbally.
For some reason I was hoping for a fluffy cat and an Italian accent when the video started, haha. 🐺
And great hair, apparently some people manage to get proper haircuts even now while I could not go to the hsirdresser since this whole "C thing" started (very jealous indeed!).
Frank, your work has become, the perfect trifecta, of, informative, educational, and entertaining. Congratulations! Fun and rewarding, to learn.

1.) Were they popular in school?
(Yes = E and No= I)
2.) Did they play sports?
(Yes = S and No = N)
3.) Were they good at math?
(Yes = T and No = F)
4.) Is their room clean?
(Yes = J and No = P)
According to your test, I got INTP. But I took the MBTI test a week ago and got ENTP. To be fair, I was loud and outgoing, but people didn't like me cause I was really annoying.
According to this, I turned from an INFP to and INFJ since school 😂
I was sceptical first and just took the myers briggs test because I saw many youtubers/Instagramers being asked what type they are. But then I took the test (several times) and learned a lot about INFJs. Most things fit so perfectly and especially the videos on YT on how to use your strengths as INFJ and what not to do, helped me soooo much. Especially FJs and Wenzes' Videos.
True
Exactly
Yeah, the questions are so basic and people can't help but give the answers on basis of their idealised assumptions. The test strongly demarcates between the two types of each parameter as if it's not possible to have a balance. Whereas, functions explain such traits. The way letters P and J and T and F are distinguished annoys me the most in that test. I got to know my type only after studying functions otherwise it would just assign me as an INTP or INFP.
I read about cognitive functions and still think I'm an infp, but right because it's so easy to mistype for one, I'm still not sure about it...

I'm an INFJ and this channel is so comforting. 😌
Enfj - Fe, Ni, Se, Ti
Estp - Se, Ti, Fe, Ni
So, enfj uses estp's dominant function when in loop.
People sometimes look like their tertiary function is their dominant.

It’s a great way to make relationships. Not that anyone I meet I’m gonna ask them to take a test because that would be weird, but from celebrity couples, if I look at their mbtis they always have the compatible ones so the compatibility thing is true
This is everything I wanted to hear about MBTI. Thanks Frank!!
Thanks man
Just realised you reached 600k so congrats dude
You are smart ! Thanks for this video.
Alright! this is great! ❤
For me, learning about MBTI helped me because:
Astrology is just more mystical typology.
@@heathergrahame9647 intuitive function paired with thinking or feeling?
I just learned that my personality type is INFJ-T and honestly it makes so much sense now.
Great video!
16personalities is not real mbti(it's the big five model masked as mbti) and not reliable please look up cognitive functions
Love the animations!😊
Anyone remember last year on the Superbowl Frank did a livestream? That was so fun!!! Miss your weekly livestreams Frank!!!
Wow, 600,000 subscribers! That's a milestone worth celebrating! 🎉🎊
Let's help get FJ to 1M... Then later beat PewdiePie, the the internet.
Super great episode!
Congrats on 600K!!!!
Thank you for being Frank with us.
Announcing that commercial break was a first class move right there.
Is it normal that I "forced" all my friends to do the personality test, so I know how to act in front of them that they feel comfortable?
(Btw I'm an advocate, haha...)
Glad I view the MBTI healthly, I learn it so I can learn my weaknesses and try to overcome them, it's not easy, but knowing is the first step.
I don't even know how I got into typology, but it has been really helpful to me!
I strongly resonate with a meme that I think I have seen several different versions of, which takes the expression "if you label me, you negate me," and turns it around to say, "If you label me, you illuminate me."
I don't understand why so many people seem to be so afraid of falling into the trap of thinking that they must be exactly like everyone else of their type.
I've only been your subscriber for 3days and Im totally addicted. Multiple times, the internet tried to convince me that the Myers Briggs is not important and I was about to give in but no... I shall be your faithful subscriber till the end of time
Thanks FJ
Congratulations on 600k. And thank you, your videos helped me a lot to understand myself more being an introvert and infj. 😊
