Well Done! Pleased to find this! I started RC cars in end 1975 having been in a show demo team for planes. I ran "scale" Stock Cars based on the V8 powered BRISCA, 1/8th 3.5cc with 1/2" steel tube chassis, eventually using custom modded Super Tigre engines (for better low end grunt) and Futaba 27MHz crystal radio. Used to buy foam from the USA and make my own tyres for various tracks and conditions. In our short range sport, mostly but not all oval racing, radio issues were rare, even though we used printed cct aerials inside the ABS (for strength) bodyshells. By the time I got to SuperStar grade I was starting nearly a lap down and behind the rest of the field, as Stock Cars use a reverse grid.

Oh, and there was "some" RC magazine coverage, RCM&E was around back then, I even got pictured a few times! No cine/video to offer, just two tea chests of trophies somewhere in the loft!! And I still have my last 1/8th RC IC powered (from 1981) and 1/12th Electric (from 1982). Both still occasionally get run!!
