Ramones, the only band that can pick you up when you feel down and out. After 30minutes of ramones soundtherapy my braincells scream “we’re a happy family!”
Always like the Ramones but it wasn't until I really got into them and learned all about them that I feel in love with the Ramones! Love and Respect goes hand in hand for me! They were meant to be here, they found their sound and kept it, and it's being pasted down and will never fade away! My heart hurts and a tear fills my eye when thinking that they all left us, the original members that gave birth to this music! Thank you and Rest in Peace!
The Ramones got me off my ass and stated my band. When we finally played CBGB's on the "Monday Audition Night" I felt like I was on top of the world. That place had some magic and I never passed up an opportunity to play any show there. I'm one of a thousand other guys who could say that, word for word. They changed our lives and we're grateful.
Somebody said "I don't like to wallow in nostalgia, but when I do I, deep dive, into The Ramones." Perfect! This is when they "Came home". We were there from the beginning. The Ramones were at CBGB, gathering songs and fans for 4 years before they BECAME anything. There is nothing wrong with a good wallow. Especially now. Dee Dee was smarter than people think. Joey........Joey was the kindest, sweetest man. I made him laugh so hard when I told him he looked like a baby giraffe on acid when he was onstage. I'm worried about the upcoming bio with Pete Davidson. Nothing against Pete. Love the guy. But, Joey was intricate. He tried HARD to hide his OCD. He was shy, very loving, and had an innocence about him. Very protective over his friends and very respectful to women. ( He'd stand guard for me when I went into the bathroom from hell.) He deserves a great bio movie. I'm the protector now. Along with everyone who knew him. ❤️
If you watch all the videos and learn about these guys, they were very special! They are known around the world and all passed away millionaire's! They were meant to be here!
they had just written Sheena and must have felt like they were going to conquer the world!...but the world proved to be unworthy of such greatness.....
Thanks to you and all the people that support the channel, thanks to this community I keep uploading the concerts of one of the greatest bands in history and I enjoy like you every song in the setlists!
Best recording of their CBGB gigs, absolutely fantastic, crisp and aggressive sound, powerful guitar, Joey sounds perfect, and "You Should Never Have Opened That Door" is a rare gem. This should have been a official live record, not that shitty Loco Live from '90s.
I think I may have been in the audience....in any event I clearly remember seeing the Ramones for the first time in October 1977 at cbgbs. To this day, I have not seen a band generate so much energy in performance. From the very beginning the audience radiating that energy right back. Incredible evening!
It has always astounded me ,being a lifelong musician that more so than the Fleming public or Michael Bolton fans etc but brother artists fail to grasp Ramone genius. Christ almost all current RnR IS a tribute to them .GG Four Ever Marcus
In the 90s it wasn't even The Ramones, it was only Joey with Johnny the only originals, that's why they sound very different ... personally I prefer Ramones from 74-78 pre Marky, I think they were their best years
This wasn't the Rocket To Russia Tour at all. This is from June 1977 and the Rocket To Russia Tour wasn't until November. This was actually Night 1 of a Three Night stand after the band had returned from the UK and the European leg of the Leave Home Tour with Talking Heads.
The English always put the day, month then year when labeling dates only with numbers, example, to us, aug 3, 1977 would be 8/3/77, but the English (and most of Europe for that matter, its 3/8/77, perhaps one of their many English friends/fans labeled the date??? IDK just a possibility, I Dont Care was on Rocket To Russia, but they were known to have about 3 albums worth of material written by mid 1976, the Doors had alot of the tunes for Strange Days written and played live before they recorded the album........
I hooked up with Arty n John the first time @ the smokestack, n redondo beach, ca. the place was almost empty! within days, I was selling shirts for them...best fucking gig ever. from '77-'96 (off and on) I miss them dearly....the planet is a bloody ass dullsville since they left us...
Their amps.... they really... um... they really work!
Not like their old ones.
We can blow this place apart !!!
@@dw5988 - I was hoping someone would know that reference!
Haha! Yeah, Dee Dee seemed surprised about that.
They have amps?

True artists are rarely appreciated in their own time
the mass refusal of radio to ever play them reminds me of the mass media hatred of Trump no matter what great things he did.
@@joejones9520 pretty tired of people involving politics into punk man fuck trump and fuck biden
@@VincentSaan a comparison or analogy is not the same as involvement.

1977 fue el mejor año para Ramones, sonaban tan bien... Buen tempo, full energía
I am in my basement listening to I don't want to go to the basement. That folks, is irony
... Ramones style.
That's not really irony. That's a coincidence.
I'm in tears

Escuchamos 1,2,3,4!!! Y todo esta bien!!!
I love playing along with their shows
Ramones por siempre 36 años escuchándolos y seguiré por el resto de mi vida
Great sound, the best.
Wonderful guitar tone.
This was only 3 weeks after I first saw them, which was May 23rd 1977. That night they did this second set, plus about 4 extra encores of Sheena.
The first time I saw thew was 17th of May 77, Tampere,Finland. Mind blowing...
punk rock heaven here. Saw rhem many times at CB's even before this ace gig
I dont like to wallow in nostalgia, but when I do I deep dive in to The Ramones.
wallowing yes but nostalgia? no.

Much better than 90s Ramones, was too fast and Joey could not keep up
