My Fathers Place, great times! Last time I was in the building they were selling artisan banana cream pies for $45. The clubs are all gone and replaced with Sephora and Anthopolgie and the music they're playing in there makes me go behind the parking lot and sniff glue out of a bag and crank Blue Oyster Cult on my boom box.
Any Ramones set that includes "We Want the Airwaves" is a good one. That song is so underrated, and it's even better live with Johnny's guitar up loud and without the unnecessary lead guitar they put on the album.
i went there for the New Year's Eve show for 1984. Spent half the night telling Joey's old lady what to say to him to get him off heroin. She was scared shitless he was about to croak in the dressing room before he ever got on stage. I just kept telling her what a bummer his O.D. would be and how he would go down in history as just another doomed junkie rocker who died young because he was too stupid to avoid junk. I kept saying that Joey was in a sacred line of NY rockers that still had that Dylanesque mystique. Lou Reed, Patti Smith- they still had that 24 karat poetic connection to the late 60's that made them stand out in the pack. His O.D. would break the line of NYC rockers. He just radiated a vibe that resonated with real rockers and still does. I was in shock actually that JR had a monkey on his black leather back. But NY is NY and that shit was all around 24/7- especially in 1984. The bar itself was an obvious mob op, but everyone that worked there was totally professional. You could roll and smoke weed right at your table and no one gave a damn. Anyway, Joey did clean up and kept on rockin'. I don't think my little 3 hour gab was in any way responsible, but it couldn't have hurt. I was a DJ at U.C. Berkeley's KALX (90.7 FM) at the time- it was the biggest punk rock radio outlet on the West Coast back then. I played The Ramones all the time and the thought of Joey Ramone lying dead somewhere backstage must have inspired me to try to convince her that her boyfriend was worth saving. On my way to my parent's home (on the Long Island Railroad) the train was packed with hundreds of Cyndi Lauper fans just returning from Madison Square Garden. They were all 13 years old and all of them were dressed just like Cyndi Lauper! Floppy hats and dime store frocks galore. New York is always a mindblower.
I remember hearing this live on the radio. Remember back then if you were too young radio broadcasts were only way you heard live concerts. They were on fire !!!!
Do you want to dance? Normally yes but I rather play Do you remember hallabaloo? No but my Mom does Do you remember Rock n Roll radio? Yes Up Shindig? Our can't be the same but yeah Ed Sullivan? Yes Indeed Murray the K Allen Freed and High Energy? Your and mine can't be the same but yeah I do The covers up over head? Dutch oven horrible I almost threw up on him Jerry Lee John Lennon? Not personally but I know there works T Rex and Ol moulty? Yours and mine are not the same. Run around run around Yeah no one can keep up with me and that's ok with me Dee Dee is cuter than Joe but Joe seems sweet Marky is married Johnny is far off and I can't so I slept with Joey. When I find the right live one I'm gonna ask for artificial insemination for a baby. You couldn't handle the shock treatment I gave.
Joey's voice is amazing! 👌
Best punk band ever 🤘
The first from which all others came.
Ever hear if the New York dolls by chance? Iggy pop ?dead boys?
The greatest band in History!
Absolutely not
Greatest band on this page maybe

The greatest band outta my Hometown. QUEENS N.Y.
Thank you Denis and Larry the Duck, Eppy and Norman Prusslin for keeping hope alive for Long Island now and then!!!
Bought a tape of this show on St. Mark’s Place 100 years ago.
They SCORCHED onstage in 1982.Its a shame they were never able to capture that energy on an album.

❤❤❤
perfeito.
45:56 - 49:35 Surfin' Bird longest silence ever! I do wonder if Johnny was indeed mad at Joey LOOOOOL

Used to play it on my KALX shows all the time.
Está mal subido las primeras 2 canciones. En realidad tendría que ir primero rock n roll radio y luego do you wanna dance.
Blue oyster cult also played my fathers place as The soft white underbelly.
Sheen's extra hot . Live the twist on it. ❤
El show más largo que hayan dado! 2 horas😮
Dura 1 hora y cuarto.
💞💜💙💞
😍
Dee Dee s bass sounds soooo monstrous
3:10 Do You Wanna Dance?
10:19 This Business Is Killing Me
12:52 All's Quiet On The Eastern Front
1:06:35 We Want The Airwaves
1:19:11 Go Mental
THANKS
