The Greatest Meistersinger of all times!!! This recording of ELECTROLA - which represents Nicolai Gedda in different Russian opera arias - belongs to the top of Golden Heritage in the XX century recording history!

Everytime I hear Gedda singing with his typical beautiful voice, like bells from heaven who are ringing I get flabbergasted, I have no choice. And still in extase I shout without shame: Nicolai Gedda: Honor is thou name.
His singing is the same level of art as "Mona Lisa". Unbeatable trace in human history. Everybody should know his name, everybody should listen. If the god of music has any name, his name is Nicolai Gedda. I have always known that Nicolai Gedda is a first-class tenor. I read some interviews with Luciano. He said that in selected genres was Nicolai Gedda was unbeatable, better than him. I started to pay attention to Nicolai Gedda. Pavarotti was right, it is true. Also, maestro Gedda has some weaker moments. I heard selected recordings or live footage - simply not very good. We are humans only. He lost from time to time. But he also won many times. Surprisingly he was the winner many times in the Italian repertoire. His victories reached intergalactic levels in many cases. His vocal care and treatment are unbelievable. He harvested his natural gift. That gift was not so big from the beginning. For example, di Stefano received bigger. Nicolai began as light Mozart tenor and ended nearly as dramatic tenor. The older Nicolai was, the bigger and darker was his voice. I do not know anybody else comparable with him. A comparison with Jussi is not correct. Of course, I admire Jussi. But Jussi was a tenor of Italian type. Nicolai was a tenor of Geddda type. Of course, also his voice declined. But he remained exceptional - always. Nobody knows him today. Opera is dying with Netrebko. Nicolai´s recordings are immortal. I am trying to share his artistry with my friends. Nobody takes care. People prefer Iron Maiden. Sad story

Одна проблема у Николая Михайловича, что он только тенор, вот бы еще двух таких Гедд баса и баритона :)
