Yes, the process is same for WS2812B. However enter the actual number of LEDs in the software setup. WS2812B draws around 1.5 Amps at 5 volts for every 30 LEDs whereas computer ports can supply upto 0.5 Amps (max 0.9 Amps). So, you can use power from computer's PSU or use an external adapter.

WS2811 LED strips uses external IC that controls 3 LEDs at the same time, which means controlling single LED will make same effect on 3 LEDs. But in case of WS2812 each LED has it's own inbuilt IC. And also WS2811 uses 12 volts whereas WS2812 uses only 5 volts. And it's safe to connect to your 13A PSU.
This video is great thank you! I am having an issue where prismatic works as expected through the setup process, then displays "grab rate: 0FPS" which I cannot change, therefore it is not working. Any ideas how to overcome this?

I just searched and was unable to find the exact videos. You can try searching "ambilight test videos", there are plenty of them.
Does HDR work? I use boblight and kody and there HDR movies do not work properly. The colors are faded and it doesn't shine fully.
I am unable to answer this as I haven't tried any hdr content.

You have to realign all the number blocks in correspondence to your LEDs, in the configuration screen.
Does this work with movies which have an other ratio than your screen. Giving black edge above and under the movie?
Yes, you just need to adjust the height of the number blocks in the configuration.

WS2812B works on 5V, you can supply it from computer's PSU. Strip with 60 LEDs per meter works great.

You only need to power the strip from one side, leave the other side as it is.

I think in prismatic's settings screen luminosity level is high, set it to 3 and also set over brightening to 0.

Use the 4 pin connector of PSU. If your strip supports 5 volts use 5 volts line of PSU, otherwise use 12 volts line.

There is no such feature in the prismatic yet. However you can choose any solid color.

As streaming services like Netflix don't let user to record the screen, prismatic can't read screen colors therefore it cannot work.
Well, one can still break it with IDXGIOutputDuplication and direct3d but it's quite complicated.
