Regarding charms, I came up with the idea that the early charms were used as a status symbol around the medieval period, possibly earlier, due to the materials needed for their production being on the rarer side and the production process being so intensive. Regarding tattoos, there's a documentary from History Channel or Discovery Channel from a while back called Ancient Ink; it goes over the history of tattoos and their cultural relevance and purpose in different cultures. Maybe a follow-up to Buddymon could have you playing a Charmsmith apprentice, so you're learning more about the history and significance of charms as you play the game, with being given different objectives by your mentor in order to progress the story.
I really like this idea and all the potential customization options for charms. It takes the concept of a pokeball and turns into something that isn’t just a clear uninspired rip off. I do really hope that in the game itself you plan on implementing a large degree of customization like using charms in the characters clothing, or even getting one of those tattoos with you’re partner buddymon! The idea is super super cool and I could see it being expanded on almost infinitely with thousands of designs and cultural backgrounds on each and every character. The only disappointing thing would be if this All wasn’t properly shown off in the game itself!
I love the idea of the tattoos and the charms. I just imagine the tattoos swirling off of their bodies and manifesting into their Buddymon in a glowing burst of energy lol. Pretty epic intro to a battle, honestly haha.
I like how the charms can be more personal. Seeing someone with good ink in the modern day would be really rare, but I see charms being able to be worn like clothing unlike pokéballs which feel more like tools on a tool belt. Even those tiny balls on necklaces that grow into normal balls just break my brain like: they can shrink?
I really like the charm design, it maybe because of my inner Lusamine but Daimond are a girl best friend. I’m waiting to get my charm sword and shield combo made.
i like the idea that charms can be any shape or object the only thing is that the releasing and return animations should be some what uniform like how would the sword hilt charm work
I really like the lore here. Monster capture sims or monster summoner type sims are my favorite style of game. Can't wait to learn about more lore as the months go by.
Interesting concepts of the ancient bonding ritual, I remember wanting to do something similar before to act as a gimmick of a fakemon region im working on, but after seeing this, I might rework it to have some sorta unique twist that allows the trainer character(s) to have it. Great stuff dude, keep it up!
I'm not sure I like people assuming they're technological - if they're that much of a daily item, you'd think the general public would have some knowledge on how they work, and if not, specific people would definitely figure it out and then it would become widely known. Unless the factories that make the synthetic charms don't want people to know it's magic and specifically put a lot of work and effort into covering it up, it doesn't make much sense. I really like the concept of people being oblivious about its properties, just not sure how well it applies.
I see where you're coming from, but I guess the way I see it is... My dad, who worked extensively with computers over almost the entire lifespan of the modern device bearing the name, still jokes about "letting the magic smoke out" of motherboards or other delicate, easy-to-wire-wrong tech parts. Seems to me that even laypeople who know, at least to some abstract degree, that the Charms are well-described magic would still think of that magic as an inherent part of the tech they're carrying around, thus making CALLING it magic silly. You know the computer or phone you typed this on has electricity coursing through its copper veins, but is electricity technology, or is it such a natural force that you can't help but think of it as magic, in some corner of your mind? Sure, we've explained electricity exhaustively, we know it isn't REALLY magic. If we don't look too closely at how electrons actually behave. Just like the Charm users at large know that what makes the Charms 'go' isn't REALLY magic. ...Right?

Like these lore videos but I really liked the lore videos you did about the individual buddymon like Gooblot and Dreadnim would really like to see more of those
I love the concept. Would that mean that the modern day factory produced ones are of a lesser quality? Cause they haven't been made by a master craftsperson? Would that mean that if you are like super serious about your buddymon catching you would still go to a craftsperson? A bit like professional... well anything people going to specific artisan shops to get a product of high quality when they need it? Reminds me of in pokemon soulsilver when you would bring Kurt the fruits to make into pokeballs, I can't remember though if in that version you could also buy thse in stores or if that was not possible yet...
what is the antagonistic force? I love Pokemon Colosseum/XD and a system like Shadow Pokemon would seemingly fit really well with Buddymon, since Shadow Pokemon have closed off hearts.
Darn this is so cool although buddy Mon aren’t real I can see this as a game where the monsters are virtual and you save them on charms (usb). Therefore you can take them wherever like events or a special system that allows you to battle others. Making it similar to a digivice or tamagotchi. Buddy you can take this far and capture the monster capture/taming world by storm
A video in 1000 years we are blessed
It would be so cool if ancient trainers could just jojo pose to summon their buddymon like a Stand

I hope as Buddymon grows the depth of variety of Charms that the player can indulge in gets to likewise expand.

I look forward to seeing there come to be more and more Charms as there comes to be more and more Buddymon media made.

I wish Pokeballs in the Pokemon universe were as diverse in shape and/or size as Buddymon Charms.

Buddymon lore is great, love hearing it. Keep it up Buddy
The lore thickens
Oooohhh The buddymon charm or the buddycharm for short
Well, the Buddymon charms mechanic sounds good, but the tattoo part really takes the cake on that! ❤ 👍
I really love what you do Buddy. You inspiréd me to let me go full to my own story

Maybe its just a form of "they dont call it magic" since its well understood.
Some say magic is science we don't understand and things we have today would seem like magic in the past

Charms are interesting, I wonder if there will be anyone in the game the mentions that charms force a connection?
Wild!

omggg i love the charm in the hilt of the sword that is such a cool concept
Good video

This is pretty sick. So people can ware the charms but does that mean they can send out a buddy with it still on or how does sending them out work?
I think you have a pretty neat concept here
Nice
Wow
Ah, so I did miss an episode.

I hope there's a chance to get a tattoo further on in the game
Hearing the voice Buddy uses in his videos after watching so many live streams is weird.
I wonder what happens to a buddymon when caught in a charm that has a cheaply made souless core? Does the buddymon suffer or the trainer?
Noice 😎👍🏾
Should just throw a brick at the monster to catch them
I love it❤❤❤
Would it be possible to get tattoos in game? I think it would be fun to have that option!
