Godin is a supreme guitar. Acoustasonic is electric guitar with an atempt to sound like an acoustic.
No. It actually does sound like an acoustic guitar.
No it doesn't
Indeed you cannot compare them. They are two guitars that complete each other. I have them both and they cover my needs completely and more. Nice video thought!
Andres Colin is a true gentleman, and his courtesy shines through in this interaction. This 'shootout' is a false equivalency between two very different instruments, designed for different players, different genres, and different markets. Godin makes two other versions, each with a narrower neck. The narrowest model is more similar to this Fender, both of which are designed with the electric player in mind. In this demo, Andres Colin's playing on the Godin sounds gorgeous.
I'm lovin' my Godin Grand Concert. With the fingerpicking tunes, the 2" neck gives me more relaxed playing freedom without having to be so careful of touching the other strings. The Multiac is a very well made guitar too. I always enjoy grabbing the Godin when it's time to play some Lindsey Buckingham. Thank you Andres. Yuma, AZ.
Nice vid! Both guitars sound fantastic! 👌
Andres, you might want to check out the Godin A6. It’s a hybrid acoustic and electric guitar. It has two outputs; mix or separate channels to an acoustic and electric amps. I personally have the A6 Baritone and it’s a lovely instrument.
If you want an electric, acoustic and MIDI access, they have such instruments all into one; xtSA model.
Disappointed you guys didn’t show the electrics on the Godin.
Nice Andres, I’m a fender guy, but for nylon guitar, I just love Godin 👍🏼
Wouldn't it be a more 'like for like' comparison to compare the Acoustasonic with the Godin A6?
Maybe I haven’t checked that one out yet
Did you tried the new Ibanez Frh model? I m very interested about a compare with the Godin ..
Had the Fender 3 days. Coming from a dread, this device sounds like a tin can. Sent it back.
What I don't understand is that the Godin SA of that caliber doesn't have a build-in tuner.
Commooon broo 🎷
Guys for synth stuff, buy an AXON midi converter and plug it on a Yamaha synth for realistic sound 😉
Hi friend, wouldn't you like to sell your godin guitar? I'd like to buy one like this, what year of manufacture is it?
How do you compare steel to nylon?!!!!!!!!!!!
Yesterday did a test run on a few guitars including this fender acoustasonic. Oh boy this fender is disappointment compared to the multiac that i used to own in the past. This Fender sounded cold in my opinion may it plug or unplug. Godin has been in the acoustic electric business for the longest time , Fender please just concentrate on just making better electrics. Cheers!
Completely agree, the Fender acoustasonic sounds cold.....I bought one then returned it after a week.
The Godin to my ears is wonderfully musical and so much more versatile with it synth connection capabilities.
Agreed !
If you wanna use a guitar to control midi instruments then check out the Fishman Triple Play. I’m debating on getting one eventually and having a dedicated guitar to install it and leave it on.
I was so looking forward to a good experience with the Triple play. Very disappointing. I am a clean player with 40 years experience and have used all of the older midi guitar synths starting with a Roland GR 808 decades ago. In my experience the triple play is no better when it comes to playing individual notes. The tracking is messy/glitchy and we are once again relegated to using the setup for pads and string swell or, at best, painfully picked individual note. The 2 or 3 RUclips videos of a couple players blowing through super fast runs and basically shredding with perfect tracking are then followed by hundreds of comments questioning how they could possible achieve these result. I have tested with many different guitars, string gauges, setup heights and on and on. I finally gave up and I am not one to give up easily.
I've been searching for a Godin dealer but I have found none in Florida. Did you go straight to Godin or did you use a company like sweetwater? Agree with you they are two different instruments ( Fender vs Godin).
If you buy from the Godin site, they source your purchase to one of their authorized dealers near where you live. Alternatively, you can email them on their site and they usually respond within a day
Very nice Video Andres. I had a Roland Synth guitar with the add-on for electrics GK -3 and a Midi Interface GI-10 in the early 90s , you could get a lot of cool sounds with some synth modules.
I believe Roland and many others abandoned the development of guitar synths, long time ago, because there was not a market for it.
Most guitar players are focused on distortion and pedals, the few ones interested on midi got their equipment long ago and I guess nothing new was developed recently.
And is surprising giving the variety of computer based synths, and sample based plugins that could be driven by those midi guitars.
Most development on computer based guitar software is actually simulators of amps and pedals, like amplitude etc, which confirms what I said before, 99.83% of guitar players are focused on distortion and pedals anyway.
Actually, the Roland / Godin is not standard Midi. Midi is 6 pin (including ground) while Roland/Godin is 13 pin.
Hey Andres, what brand strings do you use for the Godin?
La bella
Glad to see other people also use la Bella on godin multiacs
I’m gonna buy the Godin A4 Ultra Bass. That’s what I want.
Don't forget about the Line-6/Yamaha Variax guitars if you are talking about modeling different instruments from your guitar.
The James Tyler Variax by line six is superb Stratocaster with just its magnetic pickups. And with its electronic sounds it so so much better than this Fender or the the Taylor guitar of the same style .
Andres, next time you are on Sean's channel, you both may want to say the name of your channel. My last wife for 15 years was born in Guadalajara. I enjoy and admire how you play. Have you played the LAG HYVIBE guitar. I first saw it on Justin Johnson's guitar loft RUclips channel.
Hands down. GODIN !
Why is the low E and A so far apart on the Godin? Is this the legendary Godin build quality?
Next video suggestion: Andres, please try out a Digitech Trio Plus.
thanks for the video. What is the purpose of this review? Comparing nylon string gtr vs. one with steel strings ? Everybody knows the difference between them. I would rather see Nylon Godin vs Nylon something else... Two guys playing guitars is nice though.
And by 2022 they could integrate the synth inside the guitar with a digital display and on board tuner, in that Godin
Andres, Fender Acoustasonic is more similar to Godin A6 Ultra.
I bought this Fender Acoustasonic Strat 3 monts ago, and I return it after only 2 days. I was really dissapointed with that 2000$ guitar. One month later, I bought Godin A6 Ultra cognac burst for 960$. And on my opinion, Godin is better guitar. I love my A6 Ultra 😍
Totally agreed. For $2000, you can buy two Godin instruments of high quality and made in North America.
Love my Seagull
Im am Utred! Son of Uhtred!
Awesome comparison! Thanks
I tried both and didn't vibe with either one. But I think Electric guitar player's would prefer the Godin A6 for it's playability.
Video tutorial looping
Coool acoustasonic
Godin makes great guitars. also have a Godin, a Core CT. I bought it after trying like a dozen of electric guitars and it was just the nicest under my fingers. And not heavy at all!
Anyone thinking of buying a Fender Acoustasonic really should try the Godin Grand Concert before they part with their money.
The Godin to my ears is light years ahead... so wonderfully musical and far more versatile sonically.
Agree on Sax gr 33 blows away the gr 55 on Sax
Strangely enough, that's true IMO. I had originally used the 33 for a couple of years, sold it and got the 55. The 55 is a much more in depth guitar synth and superior in every which way ... except for that Sax patch on the 33. Go figure!
I am waiting for a midi Godin guitar with a USB instead of the pinned jack. I heard Monsieur Godin saying that they are considering having the USB connector...
I have Godin with usb and midi
@@dancassidy7471 please, share the model with me. I am interested in it.
@@jorgetrimboli so I take a pic?
@@dancassidy7471 That may be wonderful! But just the model will be ok.
@@jorgetrimboli model is ACS light burst Flame 034017
Why did you not compare the Steele string multiac?
Did you notice how the Godin multitiac is very head heavy when you stand up and play with a strap. It just dives to the floor!
He said cover your ears and I closed my eyes 😭😭😭
GODIN !
No comparison in regards to the build quality and capabilities of these two guitars. Godin stands tall and not in the same category as this Fender.
Godin reigns supreme, fender is nice but nylon is such a beautiful different natural sound.
Apples and melons.
Other Godin players I’ve finally found my people
Gibson chet atking nilon. Color blanca. La mejor. Por favor Gibson que vuelva la Gibson chet atking.
You should also try the Godin Multiac steel, like the signature Doyle Dykes, great sound :ruclips.net/video/Q0gwLiHgTjc/видео.html
Godin
Godin is fantastic
Triple Play Connect! Go ogle it. You might like it. Thanks for posting. Was thinking about getting another nylon string, may check out one of those Gadangs! 😆
η Godin μου αρεσε πολυ καλη κιθαρα η fender συντινιζουν οι νοτες της δεν τη φτανει τη Godin που ειναι ξερη κιθαρα και ακουγεται αυτο που παιζεις
Godin.
I can answer your question....why don't "they" make guitars that play everything like keyboards do. I'm learning both. I have the "GoDan" and a Kronos & Kawai 11SE keyboards. My answer is.....guitars are physically and mentally harder to play. Keyboard have a key for each note, you know exactly where to go. Guitars have many places to play the same note. Guitars have a neck that needs patterns to memorize, notes/spots on the neck that need memorization, you need finger gymnastics and small movements, vibrato, slides, pull-offs, hammers, finger damping, and things like that. You need to learn how to use a pick, the angles, strums, etc.
The difficulty is all relative....but keyboard have the advantage of instant gratification. They also can be connected together with other keyboards and computers to make an entire orchestra/band with a cable, DAW, and software. They are both great, but for me anyway, I could play a tune on the keyboard, first time, after 20 minutes with automated backing track, drums, reverb, delay, ribbon slides, joy stick, bends, and turn up the volume to shake the whole house. To kids of any age......a keyboard is enticing and instant gratification....and they can record all their noise, I mean music at the touch of a button and send it out to their friends on the web.......Guitars were the instruments of adventure for the past 100 years, now keyboards/electronics/the web/instant gratification are the instruments of todays kids.......IMHO of course.......
Godin sound way better
It’s not GODAN, it’s pronounced GODEIN!!!
Godin wins by a mile
Don't you feel it? Godin piezo pickup sounds plastic, unnatural, lack of essence...
But is quite unfair to compare them, cos they belong to different types.
You can’t compare these. They are two totally different guitars. If you want to do a fair comparison the Ibanez Tim Henson or the Cordoba Stage would be the ones to compare. Just another clickbait video from someone who thinks just because it’s an acoustic electric they must be the same.
Send me one of each lol 😆
La godin estéticamente es horrible es un cuerpo cuadrado.
Yuk
Ok dude in blue hoody, maybe you should make an effort to understand proper names from different languages....Godin is a proper French Canadian name, pronounced the way it is spelled in French...Go-dan........it's not godden......if your name was Fred, would you like to be called Frad or Fried? Is it Daniel? Maybe you should spell it Danyull, eh? lol!
Sorry but that Fender is junk compared to the Godin.
