Finally my fear to cut and kill my 2 year old CA Coastal Redwood I grew from seedling, is gone. Thank you for sharing your trimming ideas and vision of the tree. I have mine but didnt know how to start. I have (My Wife's Gift) a family of 5 Redwoods: A Sequoia, Dawn Redwood, CA Coastal Redwood, Montezuma Cypress and Bald Cypress I started at the same time. This CA Redwood will be my first project and I am not sure if I will continue with the others. I will share the aftermath if you wish me to.

I just seen another video where the maker put the cuttings in water and they grew roots quite fast, im researching buying one of these Coastal red woods I’ve got the other one that grows like the General Sherman but they are mega expensive to buy in 🇬🇧 UK 10 times more expensive

I normally buy my native trees from a local native plant nursery, but I happened to find this one at Lowe's in the garden center surprisingly.

Thanks for sharing. You may have said in video, but do you know how old your tree is?
I just got a young coastal redwood (more a sapling) and have it potted. I’m incredibly new to gardening as a hobby, and hope to learn from channels such as yours. Hope there are follow up videos, keep up the good work!

I'm not sure how old this one is, my guess would be 5-10 years, maybe a little more. This tree has been doing really well since this major operation, so there are definitely going to be updates on this one for sure!

I don't know if air layering works on this species. I've never tried it. Since these trees are widely available and cheap to buy, I don't know that it's worth it anyway.
