    All of these features are ultimately leading to autonomous vehicles.

    Thank you, Toyota!

    I like these types of systems that work in the background. If it works as well as mentioned or demonstrated, I think it will help the majority of drivers with increasing a safety margin or buffer.

    Nice! like that its running in the background and quiet.

    Hi Tim, Hope all is well. Are you considering a 2024 MANUAL Tacoma as a possibility for next year's truck?

    Is this different than TSS 3.0?

    • @ALMX5DP
      @ALMX5DP Год назад

      It sounds like it’s part of TSS 3.0, but I’m not sure if it’s something in addition or a standard part of it.

      Part of TSS 3.0.

    Does the deceleration assist work in low visibility? I'm thinking of situations like those pile-ups you always see in dust storms or dense fog etc. So really, does it use a camera, or does it use some sort of radar to pick up the slow traffic ahead?

    • @Pickuptrucktalk
      @Pickuptrucktalk  Год назад

      As Nick said, if you can't see, the system can't see. So low visibility is a no.

      @@Pickuptrucktalk ok thanks, I guess I missed that part somehow

    Is this available in 2023 models? like rx 350 (the one where the car moves over to opposite side of lane to avoid a bike)

    Not sure I would use all of these. I have a 2019 Avalon and a 2022 Tundra. I can’t stand the lane assist. Even the light setting is annoying. I have disabled it in both.
    The problem is most of these features can not be disabled.
    These will likely be the last new vehicles I buy for that reason.

    is the car smart enough to not go around the bicycle and just stop, if there is another Car/ Truck coming in the opposite direction?

    I'm not opposed to most safety systems, but Proactive Driver Assist needs work. The other thing is if you live in a city like Montreal, there is snow and dirty ice 6 months of the year that coats your car. If you have ever driven in a car wash with all your sensors on, you'll have a good idea what happens in a snow scenario. And for the other six months we call summer, there are virtually no white lines painted on a lot of the city streets. Oh, yes and we also see the occasional idiot trying to catch a snooze in a Tesla on autopilot going 100 km/hr.

    Thanks Tim. I'm not sure I would like these options. Just because I take my foot off the gas does not mean I want to brake. This is to much big brother for my liking.

      Lol wut? People need to stop throwing the term "big brother" around.... the dude clearly states that it will only slow down if you're taking your foot of the gas to brake because there's a car in front of you thats going way slower than you or there's a windy turn coming up.... it's not gonna decelarate every time you take your foot of the gas

    Love the channel Tim, but not sure what is groundbreaking here. Most Honda's have traffic jam assist. My 21 X5 had these features and lane change. What about highway speed hands free? Opps, I forgot its Lexus. Never cutting edge on anything.

    False. As most drivers will pay attention even less. And this will make future drivers lazy and less competent
